Đa phần các bạn kêu học từ vựng hay collocations cho IELTS Speaking rất khó, học xong có nhớ từ nhưng không dùng lại được. Bạn đã bao giờ hỏi tại sao? Đó chủ yếu là do các bạ n chưa nắm được phương pháp học đúng. đ úng. Chu trình học từ vựng cho Speaking phải bao g ồm hai giai đoạn, mình hay so sánh nó như quá trình hoạt động của một động cơ xe với hai chu kỳ: Nạ p và X ả. -
“Nạp” là giai đoạn bạn nhập từ vào trong bộ nhớ của mình. “Xả” là quá trình bạn sử dụng lại nhữ ng cụm từ trong bộ nhớ của mình, biế n collocations đó thành của bạn.
Cũng như động cơ muốn hoạt động được phải qua đầy đủ cả chu trình, từ vựng các bạn mu ốn có được cũng phải qua cả hai giai đoạn trên. Khi động cơ hoạt động đều đặn, xe sẽ tiế n v ề phía trước. Nhiều bạn chỉ chú tâm vào lập sổ từ vựng, thu thập rất nhiều, họ c trong sách, trong bài đọc, bài nghe… nhưng không ôn lại, không thấy có sự tiế n bộ dù học rất nhiều. Đó là do các bạ n mới chỉ “Nạp” mà không chịu “Xả”. Động cơ thiế u một chu trình không thể hoạt động, cả chiếc xe không thể cựa quậy. Bây giờ mình sẽ trình bày các t. cách để thực hiện cả hai quá trình “Nạp” và “Xả” này hiệu quả nhấ t. Quá trình “Nạp” có ba phương pháp mình hướng dẫn cho học sinh: Phương pháp Do Thái, Phương pháp Adam Khoo, và Phương pháp Flashcard . Quá trình “Xả” có hai hình thức: Học một mình và Học theo nhóm. a. Chu kỳ “Nạp”:

Đó là do các bạ n mới chỉ “Nạp” mà không chịu “Xả”. Động cơ thiế u một chu trình không thể hoạt động, cả chiếc xe không thể cựa quậy. Bây giờ mình sẽ trình bày các t. cách để thực hiện cả hai quá trình “Nạp” và “Xả” này hiệu quả nhấ t. Khi hướng dẫn phương pháp này cho một nhóm các bạn, ngay sau khi học xong, bạn nhớ ít nhất nhớ được 17 trên tổng số 40 cụm mình đưa ra. Ngày hôm sau, vẫn bạn đó viế t được 23/ 40 cụm, và hôm sau nữa được 27/ 40 cụm. Sau mỗi ngày bạn ấy đều không học lại mà chỉ viết để kiểm tra số cụm nhớ được. Xem thêm video hướng dẫ n: https://goo.gl/G6UeAy Phương pháp Adam Khoo Mình cá các bạn đều đã từng học qua kiểu đặt câu với mộ t từ mới, và rất nhanh chóng, bạn nhận ra rằng mình đã quên ngay từ đó và cả câu đó khi chuyển sang từ tiếp theo. Nế u bạn đã đọc cu ốn “Tôi tài giỏi, bạn cũng thế ” của triệu phú người Singapore này thì hãy sử dụng thử phương pháp ghi nhớ của ông ấy. Adam Khoo phân tích rằng não bộ ghi nhớ được t ốt với các câu chuyện hoặc chi tiết dị thường, càng dị bao nhiêu thì não ghi nhớ càng tốt b ấy nhiêu. Thay vì đặt những câu rời rạc, nhàm chán, ông hướng dẫn dựng lên các câu chuyện dị thường, bấ t ngờ để thúc đẩy sự ghi nhớ của não bộ. Áp dụng phương pháp này, bạn hãy nhặt ra một số từ vựng hay nhóm từ mà mình muốn học. Ví dụ : Computer science, higher education, keep balance, improve facility, over the moon… Bước tiếp theo là dựng câu chuyện kỳ dị có chứa các từ trên. Ví dụ: •
“Vừa hay tin Thạch Sanh sẽ tìm đến để giết mình, Chằn Tinh lao đầu vào nghiên cứu computer science ngày này qua ngày khác với mong muốn được gia nhập vào higher education học hỏi thêm võ nghệ t ừ các cao thủ khác. Thật b ấ t ngờ, Chằn Tinh được nhậ n vào đại học Cambridge ngay khi trường này vừa mới improve facility. Tinh thấy hạnh phúc over the moon nhưng không ngờ rớt ngay môn đầu tiên là keeping balance, bởi từ xưa đến giờ toàn trườn, bò chứ chưa bao giờ đứng nên không biết thế nào thế nào là balance cả.”
Sau khi đã nghĩ và viết được câu chuyện này rồi thì chính bạn cũng khó mà loại bỏ nó ra khỏi đầu được. Bạn hãy thử c ố g ắng quên câu chuyện do mình viết xem, cũng khó lắm luôn ấy chứ . flashcards online cho chính mình, tạo trên này sau đó kế t n ối với điện thoại qua application CRAM là có thể chơi với từ vựng mọi lúc mọi nơi. b. Chu kỳ “Xả” •
Học một mình:
Khi tự học một mình thì bạ n c ần phải trở thành người thầy của chính mình. Sau khi đã nạp được các collocations vào bộ nhớ, bạn hãy tập trả lời các câu hỏi theo từng chủ đề tương ứng với từng chủ đề. Cách mình hay làm như sau: Bước 1: Tự trả lời câu hỏi và thu âm. Bước 2: Nghe lại câu trả lời của mình và viết ra nháp những cách diễn đạ t t ốt hơn sử dụng các nhóm từ đã học. Bước 3: Trả lời lại lần lượt các câu hỏi, thu âm lại. Chu trình trên lặp lại đến khi bạn thấy đã thêm được nhiều từ vựng hay và hài lòng với phần trả lời của mình. •
Học theo nhóm:
Quá trình luyện tập theo nhóm đơn giản hơn bởi bạn sẽ có người cùng thực hiện các thao tác với mình. (1) In bộ Collocation List này và cùng Nạ p (2) Hỏi và trả lời: Một người hỏi, một người trả lời. Người hỏi sẽ vừa nghe vừa take note lại ý trả lời của bạn kia. (3) Nâng cấp: Sau khi hỏi và trả lời một nhóm câu hỏi, cả nhóm sẽ cùng xem lại các cách diễn đạt cũ và tìm cách thêm collocations mới học cho hợp lý. (4) Hỏi và trả lời lại. Chu trình lặp đi lặp lại cho đến khi nhóm đã thêm được nhiề u từ vựng và hài lòng với phần trả lời của mình. Một cách hiệu quả khác là đế n với các Speaking Club. Khi đó, phầ n Nạ p của bạn c ần được thực hiện trước ở nhà. Bạn sẽ mang phần từ mà bạn mới luyện tập tới club và thêm các collocation đó b ấ t kỳ khi nào có thể. Đọc đến đây, nhiều bạn sẽ thắc m ắc: “Nhưng thường các speaking club đều có các chủ đề hoặc hoạt động buộc phải tham gia chứ không được phép nói cái mình muố n. Vậy làm sao luyệ n tập được?”.
