Hi Helges Great post indeed, but ........................... ! I´ve done loads of conversions with CDXtract (AKAIs, GIGAs etc etc) and my experience is that its much better using Kontakt itself for this job! My experience is that CDXtract cannot save (especially GIGAs) all the features that are "inside" the original samples, and then you end up with samples that "looks like" instead of" the "real thing" = conversion not with all features, but pretty much more features than CDXtract can do! - sorry Helges, but this is hard to explain and my english has some limits Buttom-line: Use Kontakt instead of CDXtract cause it brings you pretty much closer to the original ideas with the samples, and gives you the best result! Regards and thanks for your brilliant work in her Helges

virusg <---- exactly!!!! Thanks for your head up! RobF <---- Here we go ... AKAI in Kontakt! ... You either have you desired AKAI disc put into your disc-drive or use an app (there are loads of them - I prefer Ultra-ISO and load the ISO) on a virtual drive. Open Kontakt and look for the virtual drive/ hard drive where you loaded the samples. Click on the drive and they´ll all show up in Kontakt .... then convert them! AKAI-format cannot be read in Windows OS itself, but need an application that can read the format - like CDXtract, Kontakt, Extreme Converter, Chicken System and others, so dont be confused when you experience that Windows refuses to read AKAI-format <--- you just simply need an app to read it, that´s all! Hope this helped you out a bit better! Regards

VERY COOL.
Ya, I knew Windows can't read Akai disks, but I didn't know it can from within Kontakt......... .............thanks to both of you VirusQ and MobyDeep!! I assume there is no way to do them all at once, like in CDXtract, correct? (Batch Re-Save?) I'm guessing they all have to be done one at a time? Am I right in that assumption? Thanks so much for the direction. Rob,
