Guyver: Bio-Booster Armor Introduction -----------The 'Guyver' Unit (or Unit-G) is a living biological armor system that greatly increases the strength and speed of its host while providing the wearer with a wide array of weapons and sensors. The Unit-G was created by a mysterious race called simply 'the reators' who came to earth to create the ultimate biological weapon and ended up with man!ind. The Unit-G was standard e"uipment for them# but when used on a human sub$ect# the results were phenomenal and the unit was named 'Guyver'# meaning 'out of control' or 'beyond the norm' in their language. In its base form# the Unit-G appears as a small# round metallic device housing stringy biological material. %nce activated# the device coats its host (the person that touches it) and hardens into the &io-&ooster rmor. rmor. The &io-&ooster rmor# rmor# when not in use# disappears# and the only obvious mar!s left are two patches of small tumor li!e growths. Two or more guyvers can communicate through these growths. They are also used to call the &io-&ooster rmor. hen the &io-&ooster rmor is called# it goes through a dimensional shift which causes damage to anything within the host's immediate vicinity with the obvious eception of the host him- (or her-) self. hile the blast has a small area-of-effect# it can be somewhat lethal if you are trying to hold onto the guyver while the shift is made. The damage done by the shift is enough to create small craters in the ground. The metal device in the forehead of the Guyver &io-&ooster rmor is what !eeps the biological material that forms the &io-&ooster rmor rmor from going rogue and 'eating' the host as in the case of Guyver * and later Guyver I. The armor can heal itself and its host of any wound and can even regenerate the entire host body if the ontrol +etal is in one piece. The world of the Guyver ----------------------In recent times# man!ind has once again discovered the awesome power of the guyvers. The first , guyvers were discovered by the ronos corporation in apan. ronos is not eactly a company with clean wor! ethics as it's actually a front for genetic engineering whose aim is con"uering the world. To To do so# it has been genetically engineering monsters it calls '/oanoids' until it came across the first , guyver units. These units later fell into different hands after a 0ogue 1oanoid stole them. The first fell into the hands of 2ho 3u!amachi who became Guyver-4. The second was given to a ronos agent named 0is!er# 0is!er# who was later !illed after Guyver-4 destroyed his control metal. The ,rd unit was given to gito +a!ashima# the adopted child of the 5% of ronos apan. Together# ogether# Guyvers 4 and , were able to destroy ronos apan and thwarted their influence there. Guyver-4 is currently believed to be fighting his o wn war against ronos following the death of his father while the whereabouts of Guyver-, is un!nown. The Guyver6 the &io-boosted arrior 07G is set after the destruction of ronos apan by Guyvers 4 and ,. lthough hurt by the loss of their their apanese branch# they are are "uic!ly trying to to recover the loss. 3urthermore# itit seems that more Unit-Gs are starting to show up and that there are many more than $ust ,. 8ow the race is set to find the new guyver units and destroy them if necessary before anyone else can get their hands on them before more guyver-rebels emerge li!e 2ho 3u!amachi or gito +a!ashima. ll players (unless (unless one of the other other supernaturals) are people who have accidentally accidentally or purposely stumbled upon one these new guyver units. 8ow they have the problem of ronos and their hoard of /oanoids after them- will they try to escape or fight bac! the hoards. %f course# this $ust the beginning of many more problems that will come into the character's life.... haracter creation -----------------The below are the 9 steps necessary to creating a gu yver character. character. Guyver-mode ----------The guyver offers its host many incredible powers (described in the net chapter) $ust by switching into 'guyvermode'. In $ust switching forms# the guvyer can cause damage from the dimensional shift that ta!es place when the armor is activated. :amaging the ontrol metal6 s everyone should !now# the control metal is what !eeps the guyver's bio-boosted armor from eating its host alive and acts a conduit for the armor's bio-energy. :amaging or destroying the control metal is possible if the character is at the crippled damage stage (-D) or through a called shot (, difficulty). ith even the slightest amount of damage# the guyver will be wrac!ed with what feels li!e a severe migraine (which translates into a * penalty for the difficulty of all actions). nother hit will !noc! the control metal out# instantly !illing the guvyer. If the character is smart enough to run away and go out of guyver mode# the unit will repair itself in a number of days e"ual to the amount of damage caused to it as long as the guyver stays out of guyver mode. &ecause they would prefer to reclaim the missing units# ll 1oanoids are commanded never to damage the control metal. This can be done either decapitating the guyver or rip the control metal out of the guyver either of which is easy to accomplish. 3ollowing the disaster of the 4st guyver regenerating itself in ronos' apan branch# ronos scientists are ordered to clean off any re-captured down to molecular levels. It's un!nown at this time if ronos has succeeded in re-distributing a guyver unit. Guyver powers6 -------------The guyver unit can do ama1ing things that the human body is incapable of without the use of magic!s or being one of the supernatural races. It can sprout vibro blades# move at lightning fast speeds# and the all powerful +ega-smasher. 8ote that the ma$ority of these abilities are fictional and not from the guyver anime?manga. I have split the powers into four categories6 weapons# physical powers# sensory# and dimensional powers. 5ach is listed with a power point cost# which is how many points it cost to buy with the initial E power points each player has to spend on powers. These can also only be used in guyver-mode save for the sensory powers# which may be used in the character's normal form. 3ree powers6 There are some powers that all guyvers have that characters don't have to pay for with their starting power points. These are6 ;ibro-sword Baser blaster 0egeneration Gravity control Guyver telepathy 7urist solution6 If you are one of those cran!y people that don't li!e seeing an anime?manga series altered out the wa1oo# ll guyvers have the following powers6 super strength# pressure cannon# mega-smasher# and all of the freebie powers. Those are the ones that 2ho 3u!amachi (Guyver I) is li!ely to have. gito +a!ashima (guyver ,) has also sported a force-field and the twin-blade feature in addition to that used by Guyver I. ;ibroblades are the basics for close-combat weaponry for the guyver units. They are ultra-sharp# given strength by micro-vibrations and capable of cutting through 2tone# steel# and /oanoid carcases. 5ach one is different in its own ways. ;ibro-sword The basic weaponry of all guyver units. These changes will stay in effect as long as the player stays in guyver mode and will return if the character later goes bac! into G-mode later. It's also possible that the guyver could also add additional limbs or mimic various weapons with this power. 2torytellers should feel free to impose whatever penalties they feel on players who want to abuse this power such as putting a duration on it (possibly * turns the P of successes upon rolling the character's power rating). 5ach change costs the character a temp. point of power. lter 2ubstance ctivation cost6 4 7ower point ost6 * 0e"uirement6 lter form This is a more developed version of the alter form power# as it allows the guyver to change the composition of his body. 2ome of the possible changes could be turning into water to get through crac!s in a wall# turning into pure steel (* dice to soa! damage)# etc The only downside to this power is that it has a duration of * turns the number of successes scored upon rolling the character's 7ower rating. /oanoids6 the foot soldiers of ronos ------------------------------------The /oanoids are a race of biomorph creatures that were developed by the ronos orporation. ronos believes that /oanoids are the net evolutionary step for humanity# a philosophy it has believed in since the initial discovery of the creator's memoirs. ronos' main goal seems to be turn humanity into /oanoids (as well as ta!e over the world in the process). There are , classifications for /oanoids6 1oanoids# =yper-/oanoids# and /oalords. Generic /oanoids are the cannon fodder in the guyver animes# such as gregole# who are constantly being slaughtered by the guyvers. The hyper-/oanoids are one step up# being the best of the best of the 1oanoid soldiers. The /oalords are the most powerful !ind of 1oanoid# capable of controlling lesser /oanoids with only a thought. There only a handful of /oalords in the world# often serving as commander or 5% of a ronos branch. ll 1oanoids have two forms li!e the guvyer hosts6 normal human form and their 1oanoid form. In their /oanoid form# they have the full stats of the type that they are. In normal# human mode# they have a , in their physical attributes until they biomorph. 2o far# I've only listed the 4N types used in the first , anime volumes (or episodes 4-E) and no /oalords. 8ew types are welcomed 6) common /oanoids types The D below are the most commonly used 1oanoid types# mass produced for use by most branches of ronos throughout the world. 8ote that /erububuth and 5n1yme are still new and are in limited production. Gregole ommentary6 The Gregole type is one of the more commonly used /oanoid types. :eveloped at ronos apan# it possesses a large amount of muscle and soft tissue that protects it from most blows. Gregoles# along with 0amotiths# are the common /oanoids in production. ppearance6 Gregoles loo! something along the lines of a humanoid 0hinoserus# ith a Barge unicorn li!e horn popping out of the center of its forehead as well as a few other# smaller horns. It's fingers are laced with sharp ra1ors (str* damage) and its s!in is usually a dull-grey. ;amore ommentary6 ;amores are the wal!ing artillery units of the /oanoids. They possess a pair bio-lasers in each of their shoulder pods capable of punch through steel with little trouble. They# physically# are not as built up as the Gregole or 0amotith types but are somewhat more intelligent and faster than the other common /oanoids. ppearance6 ;amores loo! similar to tall wingless bats with short brown fur and large ears. The 0amotith type is# as with the gregole type# the most commonly used /oanoid by ronos due to the ease of creating them. They possess a large amount of muscle mass# although not "uite as much as the Gregole units. ppearance6 The 0amotith was obviously developed by splicing the genes of a human and an ape# as its /oanoid form loo!s li!e a giant ape with large# bat-li!e ears. It's armor and particularly are particularly strong compared to the Gregole type and its acid dispensors have proven effective weapons against the guyver units. 2tats ttributes6 2trength A :eterity @ 2tamina D Intelligence * 7erception , its * bilities6 lterness ,# thletics *# &rawl ,# :odge ,# :rive *# intimidation# plus C dots for any non-combat abilities. rmor6 , =ealth levels6 %! Its head has insect-li!e eyes and long tail with a sharp point capable of gutting a guyver. Its layer of fur varies from 1oanoid to 1oanoid but white seems to be one of the most common varieties. It's fingers end in 4NR claws as well. ommentary6 The first 5n1yme was Gen1a +a!ashima# former head of ronos $apan before its destruction. :ispleased by his failures# he was condemned by the higher-ups (namely commander Gyro) to be used as the guinea pig for the
first en1yme. The en1yme 1oanoid is one of the strongest in eistence and has been the only 1oanoid to ever to destroy a guyver (although sho fu!amachi later regenerated and helped destroy ronos apan). Unluc!y for the world# ronos apan had enough time to send the data on the 5n1yme 1oanoid type to ronos' main =M. 8ow several ronos branches have begun using them. %f all the /oanoids# 5n1ymes are are particularly effective against rogue guyvers due to the acid they produce in their claws# tail# and fangs. +elee combat is ineffective (;ibroblades will desolve as will whatever other part that comes in contact with it). This is particularly li!ely now that more Guyvers are showing up and stronger forces are needed to supress any new 0ogue guyvers. Thancrus (Thann-russ) ppearance6 Thancrus is a very strange loo!ing hyper1oanoid. It's head is semi-triangular# with one point pointing foreward and a pair small tentacles underneath. Guyvers in the orld of :ar!ness -------------------------------The world of dar!ness is a nearly infinite setting for almost any possible type of creature- vampires# werewolves# magicians# ghost# faeries and even guyvers. The below are my recommendations on how to possibly use them in the o:. indred6 Guyvers have no part in !indred society and they have little interest in them. Interestingly enough# guyvers and !indred blood do not mi. If a !indred tries to blood bond a guyver# the !indred's blood will splurt out (painfully) through one of the guyver host's blood vessels. 3urthermore# guyver units will not connect to a !indred do to the fact that the guyver desires a 'living' host# even if the !indred has a full load of blood. Garou6 The garou and guyvers have a very strained relationship. It's "uite possible that pente# a corporation that is controlled by the wyrm# is the main bac!er for ronos. Guyvers probably loo! li!e a minion of the the wyrm in their eyes# but the changing breeds often find that the two of them are on the same side. s noted earlier several times# The werewolf supplement 3rea! legion (which deals with 3omori) would be perfect for ma!ing /oanoids. :amn shame I don't have it.... +ages6 +ost li!ely the technocracy would have !ittens if it found out about the eistance of a guyver (especially the progenitors- oohH a biological weapon that turns its host into a nearly indestructible force). %therwise the marauders would try to put a dress on it# the nephandi corrupt it# and tradition mages would argue with each other or try ma!ing allies out of it. raiths6 These two very rarely ever converse with each other. Bet's $ust leave it at that. hangelings6 The children of the dreaming have enough trouble without worrying about guyvers. The two usually remain nuetral. %ther beings6 +ost of them- immortals# gypsies# mummies# and so on- would remain nuetral.
