1.
STANDARD SIZES 1.1. The outside diameters and gauges of all manufactured pipes shall conform to Table 1. 1.2. All manufactured pipes shall have cut lengths (standard lengths), multiple lengths, and random lengths.
Cut lengths. Cut-length pipes shall be manufactured within the range of random lengths not to exceed those in Table 1 with a maximum length deviation of +15 mm. Upon the customer’s request, pipes shall be permitted to have the length exceeding that in Table 1.
Multiple lengths. Multiple-length pipes shall be manufactured within the range of cut lengths with a cutting allowance of 5 mm and maximum deviation of +15 mm to the total length of a pipe. The minimum multiple length shall be 300 mm.
Random lengths. The gauge of random-length pipes shall not exceed 0.5 mm, whereas the minimum length shall be 0.75 m and the maximum as provided in Table 1. Pipes with the gauge of 0.5 to 1 mm shall have a minimum length of 1.0 m and a maximum as provided in Table 1. Pipes with the gauge of 1.0 mm or more shall be 1.5 to 12.5 m in length. Upon the customer’s request, pipes shall be manufactured with lengths exceeding 12.5 m. Upon the customer’s request, the manufactured length of the pipes of less than 25 mm in diameter shall be permitted to exceed 16 m. (Revised edition, Revision No. 2)

1.3. A single bundle of random-length pipes shall include not more than 6% of the pipes having the following lengths: •
0.5 m to 0.75 m when the gauge is less than 0.5 mm.
•
0.75 to 1 m when the gauge is 0.5 mm to 1 mm.
•
0.75 to 1,5 m when the gauge is 1 mm and more.

1.4. The maximum deviations of outside diameters and gauges shall not exceed those specified in Table 2. Upon the customer’s request, the deviation data for various diameters and gauges shall be permitted to be mixed.

1.5. Upon the customer’s request, the inside diameter and gauge shall be permitted to be used as a manufacturing parameter. The maximum deviations from inside diameters shall be specified by the customer.
1.6. The maximum deviations from the outside diameter of a pipe shall not be exceeded due to out-ofroundness of the pipe.
1.7. The pipe curvature of any given section of 1m in length shall not exceed: •
1 mm for pipes with 5 mm or more in diameter and gauge of 5 mm or more.
•
2 mm for pipes with the diameter of more than 15 mm and gauge of less than 0.5 mm.
For pipes of less than 15 mm in diameter with less than 0.5 mm gauge, the curvature shall not be specified provided that such pipes shall not have sharp bends.
1.8. The end faces of pipes shall be cut at a 90° angle and smoothed out of burrs. Formation of a chamfer and surface roughness shall be permitted, subject to removal thereof. Upon the customer’s request, the end faces of pipes with more than 5 mm gauge shall have a chamfer for welding.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS 2.1. Manufactured pipes shall comply with this standard and approved regulations. (Revised edition, Revision No. 2)
2.2. Pipes shall be manufactured from steel grades specified in Table 3. Chemical compositions of steel grades in accordance with GOST 5632. Rare-earth metal additives shall be permitted. The sulfur content in steel for pipes subjected to welding, which shall be specified in the order, shall not exceed 0.02%. (Revised edition, Revision No. 3, 5)
2.3. Pipes shall be thermally treated. Upon the customer’s request, pipes shall be permitted to be manufactured without thermal treatment and surface clarification. Mechanical properties and curvature specifications shall be provided by the customer.
2.4. Mechanical properties of the pipes shall be determined from Table 3. Yield point for pipes manufactured from steel of grade 12X18N1OT shall not be less than 216 N/mm 2 (22 kgf/ mm2). The specified yield point for pipes manufactured from steel grades 12X18N12T, 10X17N13M2T, and 08X18N10T shall be established by agreement between the manufacturer and the customer. 2.5. Upon the customer’s request, pipes shall be tested for a tensile strength under the temperature of 350 ° C. The ultimate strength and yield point specifications shall be provided by the customer. (Revised edition, Revision No. 4)
2.6. The outside and inside surfaces of pipes shall be without scabs, tears, impressions, and cracks. Defects shall be removed by local dressing, high-velocity and local grinding, turning, and drilling provided that grinding, turning, and high-velocity dressing shall not reduce the specified diameter and gauge, whereas the local dressing and polishing shall not reduce the specified gauge as provided in Table 2. When dressing is not applied, no single scabs, marks, waviness, scratches, and cavities shall reduce the minimum gauge. Upon the customer’s request, single scabs shall be smoothed out. 2.7. Pipe surfaces shall be bright. Matt gray finish shall be permitted as a result of fabrication method and steel grade. No surface etching shall be required when the thermal treatment in shielding gas or vacuum with surface iridescence.
2.8. Upon the customer’s request, pipes of steel grades 12X18N10T, 12X18N12T, 12X18N9, 17X18N9, 04X18N10, 08X20N14C2, 10X17N13M2T, 08X18N12B, 10X23N18, 08X18N10, 08X18N12Y, 08X17N15M3T, 06XN28MDT shall withstand flattening to a dimension H (mm) between flattened surfaces. nominal outside diameter (mm) or expansion of outside diameter by 10% by a 30° cone mandrel. 6° and 12° cone mandrels shall be permitted.
2.9. Upon the customer’s request, the pipes shall withstand hydraulic pressures in compliance with GOST 3835 provided that the permitted tension shall equal 40% of the ultimate rupture strength. The fabrication technology shall provide for the strength of a pipe to withstand hydraulic pressures.
2.10. Upon the customer’s request, which shall be specified in the order, pipes manufactured from steel grades 10XN13M2T, 08X17N15M3T, 08X22N6T, 04X18N10, 08X18N10, 08X18N10T, 12X18N10T, 08X18N12T, 12X18N12T, 12X18N9, 08X18N12B, and from 06XN28MDT alloy shall not develop intercrystalline corrosion.

2.11. Upon the customer’s request, the pipe shall be subjected to ultrasound testing. The size of the projected defects shall be specified by the customer.

ACCEPTANCE 3.1. Pipes shall be packaged in bundles. One bundle shall include pipes of the same diameter, gauge, steel grade, and thermal treatment. Upon the customer’s request, pipes shall be from the same casting and shall be provided with a single quality certificate in accordance with GOST 10692. Additionally, the chemical composition in compliance with the quality certificate, as well as the data on thermal treatment, shall be provided. The maximum number of pipes in one bundle shall not exceed 300.
3.2. Each pipe shall be inspected for dimensions and surface quality, and shall be subjected to hydraulic pressure and ultrasound tests. 3.3. The following number of pipes shall be selected from each bundle for quality control purposes: •
2 pipes for tensile strength test.
•
1 pipe undergoes flattening or expansion test.
•
2 pipes for intercrystalline corrosion test.
.When the tests fail to produce satisfactory results for at least one property of the product, additional tests shall be required for a doubled number of pipes from the same bundle. The results of an additional test shall apply to the entire bundle. (Revised edition, Revision No. 5)

4.
TEST METHODS 4.1. One sample from every selected pipe shall be required for each test type. 4.2. Pipe surfaces shall be subjected to visual examination. 4.3. The length of the pipes shall be measured using a tape in accordance with GOST 7502. (Revised edition, Revision No. 5)
4.4. The curvature of the pipes shall be measured using a ruler in compliance with GOST 8026 and by using a probe in compliance with standards. (Revised edition, Revision No. 4, 5)
4.5. The diameter and out-of-roundness of the pipes shall be measured using a smooth micrometer of MK type in compliance with GOST 6507 and snap gage in compliance with GOST18360 and GOST 18365. The gauge of the pipe shall be measured using a tubular micrometer of MT type in compliance with GOST 6507. (Revised edition, Revision No. 5)
4.6. The tensile strength test shall be conducted in compliance with GOST 10006 and GOST 19040 (under the temperature of 350 °C). Drift velocity of a movable gripper shall not exceed 10 mm per minute. When the yield point is reached, the testing speed of 40 mm per minute shall be permitted. Mechanical properties shall be permitted to be tested by the hardness method in compliance with applicable standards. In the event of disputes over the test results, the testing shall be conducted in compliance with GOST 10006 and GOST 19040.
4.7. Expansion tests shall be conducted for pipes with a maximum diameter of 150 mm and gauge not more than 10 mm in compliance with GOST 8694.
4.8. No tests for flattening, expansion, or tendency toward intercrystalline corrosion shall be required for pipes manufactured without thermal treatment. 4.9. Flattening tests shall be conducted for pipes of a maximum gauge of 10 mm in compliance with GOST 8695. Upon the customer’s request, flattening tests shall be conducted for pipes with a maximum gauge of 15% of the outside diameter. Where small defects on flattened samples result from the outside defects permitted without dressing, the tests shall be permitted to be repeated for a sample from the same pipe with prior surface dressing to 1/2 of the maximum deviation, but not more than 0.2 mm on the side where such defects have been detected. 4.10. Hydraulic pressure testing shall be conducted in compliance with GOST 3845 provided that the load shall be applied for a period of not less than 10 seconds.
4.10.1. Nondestructive methods in compliance with GOST 17410 and regulations adopted after 1990-0101 shall be permitted to be used as a substitute for hydraulic pressure tests. (Amended, Revision No. 2)

4.11. Ultrasound testing in compliance with GOST 17410 and standard specifications. 4.12. Intercrystalline corrosion tendency shall be tested using AM or AMY methods for all steel grades except grade 06XN28MDT and using the ВУ method for 06XN28MDT alloy in compliance with GOST 6032-89. In the event of disputes over the test results, AM testing of all steel grades except 06XN28MDT shall be conducted in compliance with GOST 6032. By agreement of the manufacturer and customer, testing of intercrystalline corrosion tendency of 12X18N10T and 08X22N6T steel grades may be conducted using the ПТ method in compliance with GOST 9.914-91. In the event of disputes over the test results, AM testing shall be conducted in compliance with GOST 6032-89. (Revised edition, Revision No. 2, 5)
