NORTH STAR CANADIAN DREAM MACHINE FROM FLIGHT REPLICAS!
The Canadair North Star was originally launched in the 1940’s as a Canadian development of the Douglas C-54/DC-4, for TransCanada Air Lines, a Canadian-based airline that operated as the nations national flag carrier, and was later renamed to Air Canada. The reliable-but-loud airliner operated through the 1950’s and 1960’s, with some examples converted to cargo haulers seeing air service into the 70’s. This model from Flight Replicas captures every bit of the majesty of the classic propliner and it’s Canadian heritage with a variety of Canadian liveries that come included with the package, as well as a very nicely done model both inside and out. It’s a real treasure in the skies.

Majestic model As with any quality simulator add-on, this representation of the North Star features a meticulously detailed 3D model with accuratley constructed features and great texture work. Removable crew and passenger stairs are included, in addition to other well-worked details such as the pilots and the “bump and spec” mapping that they’ve done on this addon. Although I’ve never had the chance to fly any aircraft produced by the talented team at Flight Replicas before this, I can say I’ve certainly experienced a level of quality and realism that has me hungry for more of their classic props.
Interior work For no particular reason I easily and quickly fell in love with the interior on this one. I really appreciated the sense of depth that the modelling they’d done gives, and spent a fair amount of my en-route flying simply looking around and enjoying the work that was done to bring the awesomely detailed VC to life.

REVIEW
The model and texture work meld together nicely to create a solid feeling of depth that has seemingly been hard for other publishers to attain in the past, and it’s something that I quickly took a serious liking to. Plenty of animations and 3D modelling works have also been included that add to the overall look, feel, and texture of the interior, however one thing to note about the VC is that they’ve taken an approach to designing the add-on where it is basically a brand new aircaft. In my time flying the North Star, I noticed that despite it’s age everything is very shiny and relatively new looking, which is reasonable considering that today no North Stars are currently flying.
Great experience Flying the North Star is a nice break from the much higher and faster flying aircraft I’m used to, such as the 737 or even the older 707. I found it really nice to sort of step back and really enjoy the view, not to mention the much more manual nature of every flight - no relying on the computers here! Something else worth noting here, is the stunning beauty of flight sim in general, if you have the right aircaft, such as the North Star, coupled with some high quility scenery add-ons you can really get what I would feel confident to truly call an experience, something that I wouldn’t have really expected from any type of computer software. Overall the North Star provides a great experience, and is a real joy to fly!

Conclusion I really feel like the Flight Replicas North Star has me hooked on a whole new class of aircraft. I’ve always been one to lean more towards flying the more sophistacted newer jetliners, such as the 777 and 747, however after spending some time in this Canadian classic I really have a new appreciation for some of the older birds.
as well as the wonderful flying characteristics of balanced speed and altitude that provide such a unique and wonderful experience that I have yet to find in any other add-ons or aicraft either in flight sim, or the real world!
I highly recommend you check this add-on out if you’re into classic propliners, Canadian The experience you get with the North Star is legends, or if you’re looking to try something really pleasant, it’s not too much work to fly new. The add-on is amazing and you’ll really and provides a great feel of depth and requires enjoy it. just enough work and knowledge to keep you entertained. I really liked the overall package that has been delivered here from Flight Replicas, and really came to appreciate the little details, such as the seeming depth and feel of the virtual cockpit,

T
he Bell UH-1 Iroquois, often referred to by it’s nickname the “Huey” is a military helicopter, originally produced by Bell for the United States Army, and first flew in 1956. Specifically the UH-1H was designed for the gunship role and had a slightly more powerful engine that was meant to handle the increased weight load of the ordinance that had to be carried for the gunship role and had a shorter body, while the UH-1H featured a longer body and was favoured for transport roles. Milviz really did a great job on this one. I had a bit of a sour taste in my mouth from numerous other publishers excuses for the iconic helicopter that found notability in the Vietnam conflict, and to be frank I wasn’t too optimistic for this one - they proved me wrong however, and this really is a great add-on that displays true quality and craftsmanship. The Huey from Milviz captures the iconic aircraft and is sure to make you fall in love with it if you aren’t already.
Great model The UH-1 really is a well known, iconic aircraft - it’s something pretty much everyone from everywhere knows when they see it, so it’s absolutely vital that Milviz work diligently to model it accurately here in flight sim, which they have. I have personally toyed around with a variety of different representations of this iconic helicopter for an array of different platforms, from freeware’s and payware’s for flight simulator to other platforms like Battlefield and DCS, however I can confidently say that this model by Milviz is certainly the best worked, most refined representation out there today and it will most likely remain with that status for years to come.

The exterior features some really nice work on the modelling side of things, as well as some great texture work that no doubt took the team at MIlviz countless hours to perfect the way they have. You can always tell a model that someone or a group has really put a lot of time into, and this happens to be one of them.
Well done interior The interior work doesn’t shy away from quality either. This is something I do know a little about as I have had the opportunity to spend some time in the cockpit of a real US Army Huey in the past. Overall the model work on the interior is really high quality, and has many detailed 3D modelled parts and gauges that really seems to fit with the rest of the add-on well. The virtual cockpit is really nice, and features the same texture styling as some of their other add-ons where it is worn, certainly not new out of the factory, but definitely not some sixty years old, which is a nice touch since the majority of the UH-1’s service life was
indeed long ago and it is rather hard to find them in service or even flying at all today. I was really happy with the interior and it shows a level of quality not really seen in a model of the Huey for flight sim before.
Final thoughts This is actually a Redux package of a much older release from Milviz. The original Huey model from the publisher was really released over seven years ago and made in collaboration with another developer, but I assure you this a completely redone and revamped model that is really high quality even by todays high standards around the community. The current package from Milviz features a variety of different configurations that are sure to give you hours of enjoyment. From the shorter gunship versions to the longer transporters, they’re all included in the package and in an array of different liveries from around the globe. You certainly won’t get bored! Another feature I really like about this model and other products from Milviz is the Milviz Aircraft Management System or MVAMS, which is a nicely refined and well put together system that really gives you full control over the configuration and setup of your add-on, which is of course nice when you have so many different variations and configurations to choose from. The Huey is an unmistakable iconic aircraft, and the simulated variant from Milviz is an equally special model for FS. I really enjoyed flying it around and hopefully you will too.

CESSNA T-50 FROM MILVIZ
T
he Cessna T-50 Bobcat, also known as the “Bamboo Bomber” was the commercialized version of the AT-17, an advanced twin-engine trainer that was originally developed to bridge the gap between smaller single engine trainers and twin engine combat aircraft for the United States military during World War II. This is the first add-on I’ve ever had the chance to fly that was developed by Milviz, the studio known for their military aircraft and 737-200 models for flight sim. Overall I went into this review and testing of the add-on with really high expectations, knowing the reputation Milviz has as a reputable and well known developer of high quality add-ons, and they didn’t let me down.

Installer Starting off with my experience, I noticed that the installer was actually really well put together and I actually quite impressed with it. The system was really intuitive and I was able to easily set-up, install, and eventually configure my experience with the add-on. Although the installer isn’t something we may think about when purchasing a new add-on as areal factor in it’s quality, I like to think that it’s always a nice touch to have a really clean and refined installer as it sort of sets you up for your experience and gives you a nice first impression of what the add-on will deliver.
Stand-out interior
article I took some time to compare the Milviz model with many different videos and photographs of the real thing, and everything seemingly matches up really well - not to mention to great work they’ve done modelling and texturing everything to give it a real and somewhat of a “new-weathered” feel, where everything looks as though it’s used, however more like it’s a newer aircraft rather than an example built in the 1940’s and flown today which would most likely Aside from the stellar layout of the cockpit, be much more worn unless the interior was completely restored, which it may very well the team at Milviz have really done well in representing the aircraft well in the virtual be on most real examples today. world. As I said, I’ve never personally had the pleasure of working with or even around a real T-50, however in my research for this The interior of the T-50 is something that really stood out to me, not really for it’s model work or textures, although those were good too, but rather because of the way the cockpit is designed and laid out in the aircraft. I have to say it really gives you a great view the way the windows are placed, and I would guess it would be a truly fun and unique aircraft to fly in real life also, although I’ve never had the opportunity to go up in one personally.
REVIEW
HD exterior The exterior certainly hasn’t been neglected here either. With my high set of expectations for this first product I’ve ever experienced from Milviz I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest by the overall quality or design. I’ve noticed that the T-50 has a rather distinctive shape, which has been captured here very nicely in flight sim, along with a variety of great high-quality textures that represent a wide range of different operators and applications where the T-50 was used through the main part of its service life. The model work is solid and captures the essence of the real thing, while the texturing is really good and high quality - both come together to create an experience where you really feel like you’re working with the T-50.

Final thoughts I really enjoyed working with the Milviz T-50 and to tell the truth it’s got me hooked on the brand, and looking at other products I can pick up for myself from the publisher.
nearly every conceivable detail about our aircraft and your flight. Additionally, the T-50 features a range of selectable avionics that allow for further realism and customization.
Each and every detail of this add-on is amazingly accurate and wonderful looking with great functionality. Both the interior and exterior are amazingly well done and it’s really a pleasure to fly.
Overall a great choice for anyone that wants a fun little virtual plane to have some fun in, and definantly a great introduction for me to the product lineup from Milviz!
The entire experience here is really well rounded and feels truly complete. Included with the package is of course the Milviz aircaft manager, known as MVAMS or Milviz Virtual Aircraft Management System, which really allows you to configure and control
