Application
Basic principle
Many rolling bearings and other rotationally tion ally symmetric symmetric steel parts are fitted fitt ed tightly tight ly on the t he shaft. Especially Especially large largerr part s can be considerably eas easier ier fitted fitt ed if they t hey are heated heated prior to mounting mountin g (rolling (rolling bearings up to a maximum of 120 °C). Induction heating is superior to traditional tion al methods method s such such as heating furn aces, aces, heating plates or oil baths.
Basically Basically,, the t he heatin h eating g device consists of a live live coil with with an iron core (primary coil) which induces indu ces in a short -circuited secsecondary circuit (rolling bearing or other steel steel part) part ) a high current cur rent at low voltage. voltage. The part to be mounted is heated quickly. Non-metallic components and the device itself are are not heated.
The induction ind uction heating methods are fast fast and an d clean. They Th ey are, are, theref th erefore, ore, particpart icularly suitable for batch mounting. The devices can be used for heating complete bearings, rings of cylindrical roller bearings or needle roller bearings, as well as other oth er rotation ally symmetr symmetric ic steel steel parts such as labyrinth labyrinth rings, roll couplin gs, gs, tyres, etc.
Every Every induction indu ction heating dev d evice ice genergenerates a strong magnetic field. Such a magnetic field can have a negative effect on pacemakers and watches, disks, credit cards and other data carriers as well as electronic circuits in instruments. The safety distance is two meters. Th e devices devices must n ot be use u sed d in a damp environment or in hazardous locations. Every device comes with detailed operating erating instructions in structions and safety gloves.
FAG offers six sizes of induction heating devices which cover a wide range of applications. The FAG induction heating device AWG40 is suitable suitable for heating ringr ingshaped metal workpieces workpieces with bore bor e diameters of 220 mm (with accessories 85 mm) and more to a maximum temperature tu re of 240 °C. T he workpieces workpieces may weigh up to 800 kg. Th e all-steel all-steel construction is coated coated with synthetic synthet ic resin resin which is resistant resistant to impacts and corrosion. The clearly structured control panel with clear-cut symbols for th e different different operating modes m odes can can even even be operated op erated wearing work gloves. The foil keyboard is oil-resistant, dust-proof and water-proof. The basic design of the device comes with a magnetic m agnetic temperature sensor which can be used up to 240°C. The rated voltage is 400 V, the frequency 50 cps.
