Before You Start
1.1 Upgrade Schemes The eSpace Integrated Access Device (IAD) provides the following upgrade schemes: (Note that upgrade from V300R001C06 or V300R001C07 to V300R002C01 series version can be performed only in command-line interface (CLI) manual mode.)
CLI manual mode This mode allows the manual upgrade of a single IAD, which is used for upgrading a small number of IADs. For details, see chapter "3 Performing the Upgrade in CLI Manual Mode".
Web manual mode This mode allows the manual upgrade of a single IAD, which is used for upgrading a small number of IADs. For details, see appendix "A Web Manual Upgrade."
Automatic mode This mode allows the batch upgrade of IADs, which is used for upgrading a large number of IADs in web or CLI mode. For details, see appendix "B Automatic Upgrade. "
Network management mode For details about how to upgrade IADs in network management mode, see the network managementhelp.
1.2 Applicable Versions 1.2.1 Version Upgrade Path If current version is V300R002C01 series version, please refer to the following procedure:

eSpace IAD104H&132E(T)&196&1224 Upgrade Guide
1 Before You Start
If current version is V300R001C07 series version, please refer to the following procedure:
In the preceding figure, versions include R and C versions, and the SPC versions are not provided. For example, if the version queried on the CLI is IAD V300R001C07SPC200, the version is IAD V300R001C07.
1.3 Impact of the Upgrade During the upgrade, the IAD services will be interrupted for about 10 minutes, and the communication between the IAD and the network management system (NMS) will also be interrupted for about 10 minutes. You are advised to perform the upgrade during off-peak hours.
1.4 Precautions
The V300R002C01 series version file is ts1224.pts for the IAD1224 and ts0196.pts for the IAD196.
To upgrade the IAD from V300R001C06 to V300R002C01 series version, you must first upgrade it to V300R001C06SPC100 and then to V300R002C01series version. The version span is large, and you must load two different version files. For details, see section "1.2 Applicable Versions"
If you upgrade the IAD from V300R001 series versions to V300R002C01series version, data may be lost due to a large version span. Before the upgrade, you must back up the IAD configuration files and user information files.
Only the IAD1224 can be upgraded from V300R001 to V300R002. The IAD104H and IAD132E(T) cannot be upgraded to V300R002 due to hardware restrictions.
Upgrading from a previous version to version V300R002C01SPCm00, you need to load interim version, otherwise the data will be lost.

During the upgrade, you can neither power off the host nor disconnect or shut down the File Transfer Protocol (FTP), File Transfer Protocol over SSL (FTPS), or Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) server.
1.5 V300R002C01 Series Version Special Notes
When you upgrade the IAD from an earlier version to V300R002C01 series version, the version span is large, and the upgrade process is complicated. You must read the upgrade guide carefully.
After you upgrade the IAD from an earlier version to V300R002C01 series version, the default password of the root user is changed from admin to huawei123.
To upgrade the IAD1224 from V300R001 series version to V300R002C01 series version, you must run the load packet force { ftp ip user-name password | ftps ip user-name password | tftp ip } file-name command to forcibly upgrade the IAD. IAD196, IAD132E(T), IAD104H only V300R002C01 versions can upgrade to V300R002C01SPCm00, the remaining version can not be upgraded.

The upgrade procedure is as follows:
Step 1 Enable the FTP service. For details, see section 2.6.1 "Enabling the FTP or TFTP Service."
Step 2 Make the update_info.txt file. Using this file, IADs of certain versions can be upgraded automatically.
Step 3 The file contains one or more lines. The upgrade is started if any of the lines is matched. The file allows multiple products to be upgraded on the same FTP server at the same time. The format of each line is as follows: %Product name% =%File name of the program to be loaded%/ old_version=% Product name+Source version%
Parameter
Description
Remarks
%Product name%
Product name of the IAD to be upgraded, for example, TS1224.
Case sensitive
%File name of the program to be loaded%
File name of the upgrade package to be loaded, for example, TS1224.pts .
Case insensitive
%Product name+Source version%
Product name and source version. For example, if the product name is TS1224 and the version is V300R002C01SPC100, the value is TS1224V300R002C01SPC100.
Case sensitive
Step 4 Make the update_info.txt file according to the original version to be upgraded, and then copy the file to the loading directory on the FTP server. Assume that the TS1224V300R002C01SPC100 needs to be upgraded.
Run the display version command to query the current version. The message "Product name: TS1224 Program version: V300R002C01SPC100" is displayed. Match the preceding version information strictly in the update_info.txt file. Step 5 Copy the interim version file TS1224.pts to the loading directory on the FTP server. Step 6 Run the auto-update command to enable automatic upgrade. After automatic upgrade is enabled, the IAD checks whether the upgrade conditions are met at intervals according to the contents of each line in the update_info.txt file.
