Huminator Humidity Calibrator Using a huminator you can quickly and easily calibrate humidity measuring instruments, probes and data loggers from Testo and other companies. The huminator calibration system is a high performance, stand alone temperature/humidity reference generator. It features a thermal servo system to stabilize temperature in the range of 15ºC to 40ºC. Relative Humidity is rapidly generated in the range of 5% to 95%. With the special Testo front panel of the chamber it is possible to calibrate various data logger.

Pneumator Pressure Calibrator Not every pressure or differential pressure calibration can be proceeded in the laboratory - the deinstallation of the equipment is often interdicted, or not desired. The Pneumator fulfills both demands. It is stationarily applicable (in laboratory) as well as mobile. It additionally serves as onsite precision measurement instrument, where it combines highest precision with secure battery operation. In the industrial practice the precision of the measurement technology plays an important role. This applies especially, where the precision of measurement instruments is controlled, during calibration. The pressure sensor of the Pneumator works completely without mechanical friction. In the middle of the concentrically curled copper-beryllium membrane, a two-sided magnetically coated core is arranged, whose inductances change in a very sensitive way.

Industrial Safety Systems OPTO-ELECTRONIC PROTECTIVE DEVICES Safety Laser Scanners SICK offers the most safety laser scanners on the market, providing you more application flexibility. Laser scanners are used for non-contact monitoring of a freely programmable area. No separate reflectors are required. Installation is simple because the sender and receiver are in a single housing.
Laser Scanners Damaged goods or defective machines and equipment can impede or stop processes – causing expensive downtime. The S100 laser scanner offers an efficient and economical way to prevent this. The S100 is not safety rated and was specially developed for collision avoidance in areas where people are not present or to help solve customers’ supplemental monitoring applications. Single Beam Photoelectric Safety Switches SICK’s single-beam photoelectric safety switches offer a large scanning range and a variety of shapes and sizes. They also offer maximum safety performance - they comply with type 2 or type 4, in accordance with EN 61496 and PL c or PL e, according to EN ISO 13849. These single-beam photoelectric safety switches are ideal for a wide range of applications, including robots, processing machines, machining centers, palletizing systems, high-bay warehouses or transfer lines.
Mirror and Device Columns Device columns are used where there are problems mounting opto-electronic protective devices. In machining centers the protective devices must be positioned in an open room. An entry/exit system is often used at the gates for automatic material transport. The device columns have 2 external mounting grooves in combination with the muting arms, brackets and protective plates for straightforward, flexible attachment of the muting sensors. When combined with multiple light beam safety devices or safety light curtains with deflector mirrors, they can be used for perimeter protection. Unhindered access for loading as well as for changing tools is an advantage over mechanical fencing, resulting in increased productivity.

Inductive Proximity Sensors There are millions of inductive sensors in use in almost every area of factory and logistics automation. They are an ideal non-contact solution for detecting metal objects. They also offer a long operating life and the optimum precision and reliability using the most modern ASIC technology.
Capacitive Proximity Sensors Capacitive sensors are ideal for level and feed monitoring. From solid material, such as paper or wood... to granules or liquids, they reliably detect the status of the product during the production process and final inspection. Sensing ranges between 1 and 25 mm allow clearance in almost any installation and they are extremely adaptable for a wide range of applications. These sensors are also suitable for extremely adverse industrial environments.
Magnetic Proximity Sensors SICK offers a comprehensive portfolio of magnetic proximity sensors in cylindrical (MM) and square (MQ) configurations. The MM sensors are available with standard sensing ranges and, in the Advanced series, with extended sensing ranges. Magnetic Cylinder Sensors Magnetic cylinder sensors are used to detect the position of pistons in pneumatic cylinders. They are attached directly to the cylinder body. SICK's magnetic cylinder sensors offer precise measurement, short response times, and non-contact operation – no wear and tear or calibration required over time.
REGISTRATION SENSORS Contrast Sensors SICK Contrast sensors detect minimum contrast levels at maximum speeds, such as print marks on foil, packaging and print products. They detect small differences in grey values between mark and background on matte, gloss or transparent surfaces.
Color Sensors Color sensors function using a special three-color method. They cast light (red, blue, green) on the objects to be tested, calculate the chromaticity coordinates from the reflected radiation and compare them with previously stored reference tristimulus values. If the tristimulus values are within the set tolerance range, a switching output is activated.

Industrial Safety Systems Luminescence Sensors Luminescence sensors react to luminescent pigments, which are activated by the UV light source in the sensor. The sensors emit UV light with a wavelength of approx. 375 nm. Fluorescent substances convert the UV light into long-wave visible light. The light reflected in this way is received and evaluated by the luminescence sensor. Luminescence sensors with a blue LED (approx. 480 nm) are particularly suited for red luminescent marks.
Fork Sensors These sensors combine the sender and receiver in a single housing. This ensures very reliable detection. The distance between the sender and the receiver is fixed, defined by the housing shape, and is described as the "fork width." Even very slight differences in light attenuation are detected, thanks to tightly focused light emission and high detection accuracy. Simple installation and high immunity to ambient light are just two of the advantages offered by fork sensors.
Array Sensors The array sensor operates according to the scanning principle. It detects even the slightest grey value differences within its field of view. The positioning of, for example, a web of paper on the basis of the web edge or using a contrast line is merely one application amongst many examples. Widths, diameters and gaps can also be detected. The extremely compact, rugged metal housings permit their use in highly restricted or problematic locations.
IDENTIFICATION SOLUTIONS Bar Code Scanners SICK bar code scanners speed up logistics automation. Excellent reading performance ensures the process flow even when the bar codes are damaged or printed poorly. Their high scanning frequency enables high process speeds. DISTANCE SENSORS Short Range Distance Sensors Short-range laser distance measurement sensors provide accurate measurements for quality control applications that require a high degree of precision. They have measurement ranges from 24 mm up to 700 mm, depending on the model. Thanks to their advanced CMOS receiver technology, short-range distance sensors are suitable for non-contact measurement of nearly any object or color of material.
Mid Range Distance Sensors SICK's mid-range distance sensors offer simple setup, high immunity to ambient light and advanced features, such as HDDM for improved process quality. Analog and switching outputs ensure they are easy to integrate.
Long Range Distance Sensors Long-range distance measurement sensors from SICK combine highly precise measurement results with great reliability and a wide measuring range. Long-range sensors use time-offlight measurement technology for linear positioning. Ultrasonic Sensors Ultrasonic sensors offer non-contact measurement by comparing an emitted ultrasonic wave to the wave returned after hitting the target. The measurement is independent of material color. SICK's line of ultrasonic sensors detect objects and measure distances with high accuracy. They offer outstanding background suppression and detection of transparent targets or targets with non-uniform surfaces.
Linear Measurement Sensors The OLM optical linear measurement sensor determines its absolute position using bar code strip mounted along the length of travel – up to 10 km. The bar code strip can be placed along a curve, free-roaming path, incline/decline or straight line. The OLM measures the right positions every time - even if multiple vehicles are on the same track.
Optical Data Transmission The ISD infrared data transmission system enables wireless data transmission to railmounted vehicles along the light beam. This system is a friction-free alternative to trailing cables, such as with high-bay stackers. The system consists of a device pair- optical data sender and receiver. Both units can communicate in both directions over large distances. The point-to-point light beam is monitored during data transmissions. Interruption of the light beams is indicated both optically on the device and signalled via a special interface.
Position Finders DMP position finders are optoelectronic sensors that are used for millimeter-accurate fine positioning in the storage and conveyors industry. The sensors are used for fine positioning in the x- and y-directions. The DMP3 is recommended for operating distances between 200 mm - 350 mm and does not use reflectors. The device is a camera-based sensor that carries out fine positioning on holes or colored points. The DMP2 is used for longer operating distances of up to 2,000 mm. This sensor operates with reflectors.

BAM 1020 PM Coarse Sytem One System, Two Monitors, Three Measurements The Met One Instruments BAM-1020 PM10-2.5 (PM-Coarse) Measurement System provides continuous PM2.5, PM10 and PM10-2.5 particulate concentration measurements from a single fully integrated system. Two full-function BAM-1020 beta attenuation particulate monitors are networked together in a master/slave configuration using special back panel connections and a serial network cable. Cheminert fittings High pressure PEEK and low pressure polymeric fittings – nuts, tube end fittings, unions, connectors, adapters, and FIA fittings. The newest additions are for direct connection of 360 µm OD tubing. Cheminert fittings are ideally suited for applications requiring an inert, biocompatible, metal-free flowpath. Wetted materials are PFA, FEP, CTFE, or PEEK, and uniform flow passages minimize mixing. All connections have zero dead volume.
Valco fittings The Valco line features high pressure metal fittings – nuts, ferrules, fittings for fused silica, unions, connectors, adapters, column end fittings, and more. Valco fittings are typically compression fittings, in which a ferrule is compressed onto the tube as a nut is tightened. They offer the best reliability in high pressure situations.
Filters Valco metal filters with pressed or removable elements, plus biocompatible mobile phase filters and spargers. Valco GC filters are made entirely of metal, so they can be used at any instrumentation temperature.
Actuators and accessories Pneumatic and electric actuators for valve automation, plus a variety of controllers, interfaces, mounting hardware, and accessories. Pressure Transmitters, Analog The COMPACT device converts pressure measurements into a load-independent current signal. TRANSMITTERS Transmitter for Temperature The Series ThermoTrans® Temperature Transmitters offer you as much flexibility as you need. The ThermoTrans® 205 / 206 Transmitters can be connected to all common resistance thermometers in a 2-, 3- or 4-wire configuration. The ability to connect resistance sensors and potentiometers opens up a wide range of additional applications, e.g. in the area of position measurement. The conversion of the input signal to a proportional current / voltage signal creates the conditions for simple further processing. A parameter setting or adjustment to the measuring task can also be carried out easily ”on site” via the optical interface. The user-friendly, menu-guided communications software Paraly is supplied with an optical-fiber cable including a PC adapter.
ISOLATORS Loop-powered Isolator The Loop-Powered Isolator separates 0(4)…20 mA standard signal. The task is to ensure reliable and safe plant operation through galvanical isolation between sensor and controller (such as PCS or SPC). The innovation is the new A 47 Advanced Series of Loop-Powered Isolators. An extremely high packing density of 177 channels per meter top-hat rail and outstanding characteristics such as protective separation defy all competition!
Standard-signal Isolator with power supply Guaranteeing reliable and safe system operation requires galvanic isolation between the measuring signal sensors and the control (e.g. PCS, SPC etc.). In large systems in particular measuring signals are sent across long distances and providing a loadable and isolated signal is essential. Calibrated selection of the input and output ranges with DIP switches allows the new VariTrans P 15000 professional standard-signal isolators to be used universally without tiresome readjustment. The broad-range mains adapter for all normal supply voltages from 20 to 253 V AC/DC is an unrivalled feature for isolators in such a compact modular case.
SUPPLY UNITS Power Supply / Isolator The WG 20 power supply/isolator feeds intrinsically safe 2-wire transmitters. It powers the transmitter and delivers the measured signal at high accuracy to the output. The WG 20 provides safe separation and high insulation from input to output and to power supply. Thanks to an additional current input it can be used as high-precision standard signal isolator for hazardous circuits. High supply voltage, favorable hazardous area specifications and the easy output signal selection allow for universal applications. New vacuum encapsulation technology offers optimum reliability, long-term stability and disruptive strength even under extreme ambient conditions.
Repeater Power Supply The WG 21 Repeater Power Supply feeds intrinsically safe 2-wire transmitters. It powers the transmitter and delivers the measured signal galvanically isolated and at high accuracy to the output. Optionally the WG 21 also transmits data protocols for SMART transmitters (HART®) besides the analog signal. It allows bidirectional communication with a field unit from each point of the cabling. The WG 21 provides protective separation and high insulation between input, output and power supply. High supply voltage, favorable hazardous-area specifications and the new broad range mains adapter allow for universal applications. Long leads of 1400 m are no problem. Innovative transformer transmission technique provides transmission accuracy which is extraordinary high for hazardous area applications. Loop-powered supply The WG 25 Loop-Powered Supply operates without external power supply. It provides galvanical IS separation of a 2-wire supply line and transmits 4 to 20 mA as well as HART® signals in each direction. With a voltage drop of only 4.2 V, the WG 25 makes optimum use of the supply voltage allowing to connect any common 2-wire transmitters. Compared to active power supplies, there are considerable advantages concerning price and reliability.
CONTACT PROTECTION RELAYS For Touch Contacts Contact protection relays increase the switching safety and the switching performance of electromechanical limit value switches and reduce the contact load of same. The service life of the contact is considerably increased because in the range of 99%, these open and close under tension free conditions owing to a pulse and pause ratio of 1 : 100. Fluttering is almost excluded due to a release delay of approx. 0.5s. Contact protection relays are available for single and double contacts as well as for double contacts in an interval circuit. The relay output switches as a potential-free changeover contact (one per channel). It can be used, for example, for actuating control devices.
Switching Amplifier The units are switching amplifiers for the connection of inductive contacts. Unintended switching signals of the inductive contacts (which may well be created by vibration within immediate reach of the switching point) are largely reduced by a fail-delay time. Due to their contact free way of switching, to their switching safety and long service life, inductive contacts are particularly useful for industrial applications.The relay output switches as a potential-free changeover contact (one per channel). It can be used, for example, for actuating control devices.
Isolated Switch Amplifier The transformer isolated barrier transfers digital signals into hazardous areas. Sensors per DIN EN 60947-5-6 (NAMUR) or mechanical contacts may be used as transmitters. The control circuit is monitored for lead breakage (LB).

Vibration Measurement VIBRATION SENSORS Universal Accelerometers The piezoelectric accelerometers shown on this page are intended for standard applications in laboratory and industry. There are models with charge output and with IEPE compatible voltage output. All types have stainless steel cases and M5 base threads for mounting. The transducers of KS series have a shear type sensing element making them less susceptible to thermal transients and base strain. The accelerometers of KD series have a compression type sensing element combining rugged design, precision and low cost. For measurements below 3 Hz generally shear type accelerometers of KS series should be preferred. Models KS56 and KS57 can be used at temperatures up to 250 °C (480 °F). The low-cost accelerometer KS90 and KS901 are intended for OEM applications in machines or instruments. Model KS90 can be used in charge mode or, with a high-impedance voltage amplifier, in voltage mode . Model KS72L with Low Power IEPE output was developed for applications demanding low power consumption, such as sensor telemetry.
Miniature Accelerometers These piezoelectric accelerometers are particularly suited for small and light test objects. Of particular advantage may also be their high resonant frequencies. Due to the piezoelectric principle with its wide dynamic range both high acceleration and lowest vibration can be measured with the same sensor. The miniature accelerometers are mounted adhesively or by an M3 base thread (except models KS90/91B). Model KS94L with Low Power IEPE output was developed for applications demanding low power consumption, such as sensor telemetry.
High Sensitivity Accelerometers These piezoelectric accelerometers are intended for the measurement of lowest vibrations. Typical fields of application include the monitoring of buildings, dams, bridges, oil platforms and pipelines. These sensors are often called seismic accelerometers because they are used to monitor construction activity, volcanoes and earthquakes. Their high sensitivity is achieved -unlike other high sensitivity accelerometers- by the sensing element itself and not by internal amplification. From this results highest resolution and lowest noise. Model KB12(VD) has an unusual design featuring air damping for a low resonance peak and friction coupling for overload protection.
Triaxal Accelerometers Triaxial accelerometers are intended for simultaneous measurement of vibration in 3 perpendicular axis. All models have a central drilling for easy screw attachment and convenient axis alignment. The miniature accelerometer KS943 is particularly suited for light objects. Model KS823B was designed for the measurement of building vibration to DIN 4150, wind turbines and other sensitive applications at large structures. Model KS943L with Low Power IEPE output was developed for applications demanding low power consumption, such as sensor telemetry.

Industrial Accelerometers These piezoelectric vibration sensors have been designed for application under rough environmental conditions. They are dust and water protected. Their mounting base is insulated to avoid ground loops which may cause errors, particularly, close to big machinery. The cable has to be ordered separately according to the requirements of length and quality (e.g. high temperature, oil resistant, flexible metal tubing). Models KSI80VC and KSI82VB are compatible with 4-20 mA current loop equipment. The transducers KS80D and KSI 8xVB are available with ATEX compliance certificate.
Special Accelerometers The Seat Pad Accelerometer Model KB103SVD was developed for measuring whole body vibration transmitted by driver seats of building machines and other vehicles in compliance with ISO 10326-1 and ISO 7096. The sensor has an IEPE output for robust signal transmission. The Probe Accelerometer Model KST94 was developed for automated vibration testing in a mass production process. The sensor features a movable tip. It can be approximated to the test object, for example, by pneumatic force. A sophisticated damping system provides excellent reproducibility and suppression of environmental vibration. Model KST94 has an outstanding life expectancy of over 10 million test cycles. Its IEPE output can be processed by standard equipment, for instance the M32 signal conditioner or M12 vibration monitor. The Low Power IEPE Accelerometers KS94L and KS943L are intended for applications demanding low power consumption, such as telemetry or other battery powered equipment.

ARGUS 165 The comprehensive all-in-one solution: the new ARGUS 165 xDSL+GigE combi tester combines all standard broadband interfaces (ADSL, VDSL, SHDSL) and fast Gigabit Ethernet interfaces with comprehensive Triple Play test functions in one measurement device. Without having to swap modules, the user can select or change the interface via the intuitive menu and perform tests at the press of a button. The ARGUS 165 supports this with, amongst other things, two SFP slots and a copper-based Gigabit Ethernet interface. Thanks to the various Gigabit Ethernet SFPs, the tester offers the greatest possible compatibility for connection to fiber-based interfaces. It is thus possible to carry out Triple Play or performance tests directly on GPON modems, GigE switches etc. via the Gigabit Ethernet interface (copper or fiber). A further option offered by the ARGUS 165 is the possibility of using two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces simultaneously (Dual GigE). The user can thus send from one Gigabit Ethernet interface and receive on another. It is thus not necessary to use a second device for end-to-end tests. Using a loop function and a traffic generator, the user can analyze the capacity of Ethernet cabling or devices at different packet sizes and full performance (1 Gbit/s) across different layers. Throughput tests in accordance with RFC 2544 are thus also possible. For HTTP and FTP downloads the interfaces can even reach speeds of up to 200 Mbit/s. The handheld tester also enables physical analysis of DSL copper wires (Cu tests) using a line scope; the time and frequency domains are displayed in real time. Using the optional Active Probe II, even high-ohmic measurements on an existing DSL connection are possible without interference. Power spectral density (PSD) and noise can also be evaluated using a spectrum analysis (DMT analysis). An RC test is also possible.

It is the only handheld tester and analyzer to integrate all interfaces for VDSL2 (all profiles), ADSL (Annex A, B, J, L, M) and SHDSL (2-, 4- and 8-wire), Ethernet, ISDN PRI/E1/BRI S/T/U and POTS in a single device – without having to swap modules. If required, a fast Gigabit Ethernet interface is also available, via which performance tests can be carried out with up to 1000 Mbit/s. For this, a loop function and a traffic generator are available, so that throughput tests in accordance with RFC 2544 are also possible. If the Ethernet cabling is defective, the ARGUS 145 plus can immediately locate the source of the fault through cabling tests via the Gigabit Ethernet interface. In addition, it is possible to check whether the receiver connects the voltage for different PoE categories. For an HTTP or FTP download, the interface reaches speeds of up to 200 MBit/s. If required, the numerous interfaces can be extended by further functions. For example, the SHDSL interface also operates in SHDSL.bis as well as optionally in ATM, TDM or EFM modes. Copper tests (Cu tests) for physical line qualification without synchronization with the receiver are always included. Using a spectrum analysis (DMT analysis), the powerspectral density (PSD) and noise can also be analyzed. The optional TDR function (Time Domain Reflectometer) enables line lengths to be measured and sources of faults to be detected. With a high-ohmic connection, a line monitor enables real-time display both in the time and frequency domains (FFT). The optional Active Probe II required for this can also be connected to an existing DSL connection and can be switched between symmetrical and asymmetrical
ARGUS 142 Multi-functional measuring equipment at a fair price: the ARGUS 142 quickly and reliably tests interfaces and services down to the last detail. VDSL2, ADSL, Ethernet, ISDN (BRI S/T/U) and POTS, as well as the physical conditions of the subscriber line are extremely easy to test – without having to swap modules. The functions of the ARGUS 142 include at least one DSL and an Ethernet interface as standard, plus RC testing and voltage measurement. If desired, the measurement device can also be extended on an individual basis. For example, additional copper tests (Cu tests) can be used to assess the line quality even without synchronization to the receiver. The optional Active Probe II even enables high-ohmic measurements on an existing DSL connection without creating interference. With the optional TDR function (Time Domain Reflectometer), line lengths can be measured and sources of faults can be detected. Lines without a DSL receiver (e. g. in the event of rewiring) can optionally be tested by the ARGUS for DSL suitability even if there is no DSLAM. Irrespective of line condition and length, the user can determine data rates using two devices and with the line qualification function activated, even when systems consisting of modem (xTU-R) and DSLAM (xTu-C) fail.

ARGUS 42 PLUS ADSL combination tester at a fair price: the ARGUS 42 plus tests ADSL, as well as optionally ISDN and POTS. In addition to the various access types and protocols, the tester also determines e.g. the attainable transmission speed or noise floor of the line. Basic Triple Play tests are also supported: the ARGUS 42 plus can be upgraded to a fully featured voice tester if desired. GUNYOIL The GUNYOIL measuring instrument is the only one worldwide that captures six parameters at the same time, thus supporting extremely reliable online monitoring of these oil parameters. Electric Conductivity [pS/m] (picoSiemens/Meter) • Oil is normally a poor conductor and only allows very low currents when new. • Oxidation, aging and chemical changes to additives lead to relative changes in the oil (loose metals (particles) act as a catalyst and accelerate the oxidation process). 5. Relative Permittivity [εr] Permittivity allows the following conclusions to be drawn: • Detection of different oil types Erratic change in permittivity • Mixing with other oils (Mixing of different permittivities) • Oil change detection • Detection of air in the sensor • Oil level, foam build-up, etc. 6.
