ERD Commander 2003 requires that the target system have a bootable CDROM, and one of the following operating systems:
Winternals ERD Commander 2003 is licensed by node with a standard, permanent license or with a temporary 5day license for emergencies.
• Windows NT 4 • Windows 2000 • Windows XP • Server 2003 Regardless of operating system, ERD Commander 2003 requires a minimum of 64MB of system memory and an x86 233MHz processor.
With the Locksmith utility, lost passwords — even lost administrator passwords —are no longer a problem. Simply type in the name of the account and then type in another password for immediate access to any locked-out system.
Windows XP System Restore Points allow you to roll a system back to a working state — as long as the system is bootable. ERD Commander improves on this with a System Restore Wizard that allows you to roll back even unbootable systems for fast, easy repairs.
Note that ERD Commander 2003 also gives you access to the drives of Windows 95, 98, and Me systems, although many utilities, such as the password changer, Registry editor and Event Log viewer do not function when accessing installations of those operating system versions. The ERD Commander 2003 Boot CDROM Wizard runs on Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP, and Server 2003.
FileRestore can bring back files that would otherwise be gone for good, including files emptied from the Recycle Bin, files deleted by application programs and remote processes, files lost with removed directories, or files deleted using a command prompt.
The emergency download version, available 24 hours from www.winternals.com, is licensed for five days from the date of download. At the end of this period, you can convert the temporary license to a permanent license for use on one machine only. For multiple systems, ERD Commander 2003 can be licensed to function only within the domains specified on your license activation key or locked to specific machine names for machines that are not part of a domain.
