Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) 1.

What is Early Engagement? And how can I get access to use it? Early Engagement is your learning portal that will help you accelerate from Campus to Cognizant through Empowered Learning. You will automatically get a separate email from [email protected] with your login id and temporary password. Please use those credentials to log in to Early Engagement. You will be asked to change the temporary password on your first login to p latform.

How can I complete the courses in the Early Engagement portal? Each topic has learning modules like Enable yourself, Do it yourself or Know more - these sections are to enable yourself with the knowledge necessary for your assessments. Each topic can have multiple learning assessments like Check your understanding, Sharpen your skill and Certify yourself . There are pre-set success criteria for each topic and this criteria varies from topic to topic. But, only on meeting the success criteria of one topic, you will be able to proceed to the subsequent topic. Successful completion of all topics within a course will lead to the completion of a course.

I am having a question or issue regarding my learning portal Early Engagement. What should I do? You have 3 ways to reach the Early Engagement team to help you with your learning related queries: 1). If you are having queries on a specific content, please use the Q&A forum that is shown when you attempting a quiz, watching a video or doing other learning activity in Early Engagement. One of our experts will respond to your questions in the Q&A forum itself. 2). If you have a query or issue with the learning portal itself that is not related to a learning topic, please raise a ticket using the Early Engagement Help Desk shown in the drop down at the top right corner of Early Engagement homepage. 3). If you are having trouble logging into Early Engagement, please use the "Need Help?" link shown in the footer of the Early Engagement login page. I am unable to access the videos in the Early Engagement site. Please help me? / I am able to log in to Early Engagement and start learning a course. Inside a course topic, if I click on a link under "Enable yourself", I get a blank page without the learning video. What should I do? We request you to enable the videos in your web browser. Please refer to the following links to enable the videos in your version of the browser. Are there any deadlines before which we need to complete all the modules? Each of the modules in the Early Engagement portal has a planned start and end date. The planned start and end date have been given in order to help you plan for the learning activity. While you can still access the courses and topics beyond the planned end date, we suggest you to complete the course within the planned timelines under each topic. This will help you reduce your backlog and stay ahead of your peers. Remember, it is mandatory to complete your learning and compete in all events. Also Early Engagement gives you the opportunity to prepare yourself for certifying on your Programming and SQL skills.

I have given post-assessment test several times and all the times I am getting 60-70% score. Please let me know if this score is enough? You can attempt the post assessment test any number of times in the Early Engagement portal. However, please remember your attempts are recorded for internal purposes. So we recommend that you go back and learn the topic via the Check your understanding, Enable yourself and Know more sections and then take up the post assessment and have a better score.

I have gone through Basic of Computers and Networking and scored 60% in Certify yourself. But every time I complete the quiz, a message appears saying "milestone not completed". What should I do? You need to certify your knowledge or skill at each topic level, before you proceed to the next topic. Please keep trying the section Certify yourself until you certify yourself successfully. When you successfully get certified, you will get a certification completion email to confirm the same, and the notification message will also reflect the same.

I am unable to open the Early Engagement website in my laptop. I tried in all browsers but not able to open. Please suggest me the recommended browser. We recommend you to use Google Chrome (latest version) / Mozilla Firefox (version 20 or above) for accessing Early Engagement portal. Please refer https://ee.cognizant.ebox.co.in/uploads/EarlyEngage_Requirements_new.html for minimum system requirements. If you still face the issue, kindly clear your DNS cache if you use Windows OS, perform the following steps: 

Click Start.



Enter cmd in the Start menu search text box.



Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.



Run the following command: ipconfig /flushdns. If the command succeeds, the system returns the following message:

It is possible to change my email id used in Early Engagement portal? If you are update to a new id, kindly open a new request in the Early Engagement Helpdesk under the Issue Type "Others" and share the details in the "Description" section stating your new email id. Please also state the reason for requesting this change. If you cannot login to Early Engagement portal, please email us at [email protected] with the email id change request.

Is it compulsory to submit the assignments given in some topics under Enable yourself or Know more or Do it yourself sections? If so, what is the procedure to upload the assignments? Assignments are provided for self-practice purposes. While it is not required to submit these assignments, practicing these assignments will enable you to acquire the knowledge and skills required for you at Cognizant. So, get your feet dirty and equip yourselves with practice!

When will I get a milestone completion email from Early Engagement portal? In Early engagement portal, each course consists of multiple topics. When you complete each topic and if all prior topics are completed, you will get a notification that you have completed the current topic successfully. On successful completion of all topics within a course, you will receive the milestone notification mail for that course.

While trying to access a module, I am getting an error saying "You have not attempted the session yet”. What should I do now? If you are trying to attempt a section under a topic without completing the prior prerequisite sections or prior topics, you will be getting the above message. Please complete any pending activities prior to this module to proceed with your learning.

13.

I keep getting a notification that the milestone has not been completed. What should I do? Please ensure you have completed all activities prior to this assessment. Each topic can have multiple learning assessments like Check your understanding, Sharpen your skill and Certify yourself. There are pre-set success criteria for each topic and this criterion varies from topic to topic. But, only on meeting the success criteria of one topic, you will be able to proceed to the subsequent topic. The actual milestone accomplishment refers to meeting all the success criteria of topics. If you get a notification saying that milestone has not been completed, you can reattempt the session until you get a milestone completion notification.

Can I do my assignments/modules before the specified time? Yes, you can complete the sessions in Early Engagement portal before the specified time, as long as you have finished all the prior sessions. All the courses that can be worked on will appear automatically in the In Progress tab of My Courses.

How long will it take for Early Engagement Help Desk query to be addressed? A team of Early Engagement support personnel are constantly monitoring the Help Desk during the weekdays (Mon-Fri). Your queries should be attended to within 48 hours. If the resolution is simple, you will receive a response within that timeframe. Else, the ticket will be assigned to the respective team to work on and resolve which could take an addition 48 hours. Please be patient, and you need not open multiple tickets on the same issue.

Are there minimum marks / percentage required in the quizzes that I need to fulfill or like that? Each topic can have multiple learning assessments like Check your understanding, sharpen your skill and certify yourself . There are pre-set success criteria for each topic and this criterion varies from topic to topic. But, only on meeting the success criteria of one topic, you will be able to proceed to the subsequent topic.

Are there any ultimate date / deadline before which we need to complete all the modules? The planned start and end dates are given to help you plan your learning activity. While you can still access the course beyond the planned end date, we encourage you to complete the course within the planned timelines under each topic. This will help you reduce your backlog and stay ahead of your peers. Remember, it is mandatory to complete your learning and compete in all events. Also Early Engagement gives you the opportunity to prepare yourself for certifying on your Programming and SQL skills.

I would like to enquire about the time limit to complete the Assignment provided through Early Engagement. EARLY ENGAGEMENT is an empowered self-driven learning platform. You will be able to see your expected vs actual progress in the landing page, where 2 runners are depicted. If you would like to know the planned due dates for each topic, please visit the course landing page to see the same.

Even after completion of courses and after taking the quiz thrice, every time it shows that the milestone is not completed .Please help Please ensure you have completed all activities prior to this assessment. There is a section "Selection and Control Structures" under programming fundamentals section. I have solved a problem in that section (IN and OUT problem), validate it and then submit it. The validation was successful, though in the s ubmission tab it shows wrong answer and I cannot submit the rest of the answer. Code validation will just validate the syntax and construct of the code. Submission however will evaluate the end output. If your code is not performing to the specification requested, then the submission will result in a wrong answer.

When can I get the results published for contest conducted? Results for the contest conducted in platform will be released in 2-3 business days. You would also receive a bell notification for the same.

22.

I want to know where I went wrong on Code Challenge / Concept challenge / Get Certified / Programming contest – Please help. We have the detailed analysis report available in the platform for the entire contest conducted - Code Challenge / Concept challenge / Get Certified / Programming contest – post publishing the results. Request you to follow the steps to check the same.

Step 2: Request you to search with contest name / Theme / date of contest.

Step 3: Post selecting the contest/assessment, please click on “Get Report” to generate the same. 23.

I am unable to attempt Get Certified, please help. Please be informed that you would be able to attempt Get Certified assessment only after completion of all the courses. Once you c omplete all the 7 courses you would receive a mail confirmation on the same. Post receiving the mail, request you to check the My Calendar for the scheduled date for final assessment. Based your preparation level, you could enroll to the available slots of Get Certified as shown in below screens. Step 1:

I am getting wrong answer for my code always, please help

This is because your program didn’t satisfy one or more test cases. To know more how to identify and handle test cases, request you to refer the video link in “ How may I help you? ” section. 25.

When will I get my DOJ / to whom we should check for DOJ? Any queried regarding your DOJ or any documentation or extension of DOJ, kindly drop a mail to [email protected] to get your queries addressed. Remember, Early Engagement gives you the opportunity to certify on your Programming and SQL skills and it is mandatory to complete the learning and compete in all contests conducted in platform. Based on your performance in platform, a rank would be calculated and published in “My Performance Report”. You would be invited for joining Cognizant based on your rank only.

I am unable to receive any mail from Early Engagement? Request you to check if you have registered in blocking of mails from untrusted site. If so, please add [email protected] as trusted site to receive mails from us. Also kindly check your spam folder as well.

27.

I have my semester exam, hence I will not be able to complete my courses or take part in different contest – Please help. The planned start and end dates are given to help you plan your learning activity. While you can still access the course beyond the planned end date, we encourage you to complete the course within the planned timelines under each topic. This will help you reduce your backlog and stay ahead of your peers. Remember, it is mandatory to complete your learning and compete in all events before your DOJ. Also Early Engagement gives you the opportunity to prepare yourself for certifying on your Programming and SQL.

28.

Is it mandate to complete the learning before DOJ? Yes, it is mandate to complete the learning and c ompete in all contests conducted in platform. Based on your performance in platform, you would be called for joining. Based on your performance in platform, a rank would be calculated and published in “My Performance Report”. You would be invited for joining Cognizant based on your rank only.

How is the learning ability calculated / How to improve my rank in “My Performance Report”?

Get Certified

Based on the above factors, your rank would be calculated and published in “My Performance Report”. You would be invited for joining Cognizant based on your rank only.
