TwinPlate technology A truly innovative approach, TwinPlate technology utilises two separate scanning beds: the conventional glass plate for reflective materials and a separate transparency tray that slides into the scanner itself. Instead of switching the light source, the scanner switches mirrors using a different optical path for reflective and transparent scans, allowing the scanner to optimise the path for both types of originals. The DuoScan T2000 XL’s universally sized slide frame and standard holders accommodate all types of transparent originals. Smaller, specially sized slide holders easily adhere to the universal holder to accommodate 35 mm film, 6 x 6 cm film and 4" x 5" film. Batch slide holders accommodate 35 mm film strips, framed 35 mm slides, 6 x 9 cm films and 4" x 5" films.

Almost every scan will be right the first time, thanks to the exceptional combination of FotoLook 3.5, a powerful, intuitive scanner control software, and high quality hardware components. Designed for maximum productivity with a minimum of retouch work, the DuoScan T2000 XL’s highly accurate lenses remain stationary, adding extra stability in the optical path so the result is a high quality and consistent scan every time. The latest scanner driver software: FotoLook 3.5 The intuitive, easy-to-use Fotolook software has been updated. The latest version, FotoLook 3.5, offers new innovative features such as smart USM (unsharp masking), automatic and manual black and white point settings, batch scanning functionality, and CIElab support and selective colour correction for the Mac. With the help of Agfa’s unique TFS technology, the DuoScan T2500 is an excellent choice for negative scanning. Other professional FotoLook tools include variable descreening for scanning halftone images, gradation and gamma curves, and colour cast and selective colour (Mac only) correction. Flexible enough for experienced operators and intuitive for new users alike, FotoLook’s interactive and production modes can be tailored to exact scanning needs. Using default or customised settings, the interactive mode allows immediate adjustments to a preview scan for complete scanning control. Batch scanning for total automation Thanks to the FotoLook batch scanning feature and the slide holders, you can set the parameters and preload negatives and slides for batch processing. You can opt to execute the batch immediately or save it for later. Either way, the DuoScan T2000 XL can automatically scan the batch switching between the reflective and transparency areas, as required. With improvements in the batch scanning feature, FotoLook 3.5 offers more control with a batch log and a repeat function, making it possible to rescan a batch or even certain images. Colour management An important piece of the imaging puzzle is colour management. Agfa's colour management solution, ColorTune is fully integrated within FotoLook 3.5. From FotoLook, simply select the ICC profile for input and output devices. Switching between programs is not necessary for complete colour control. ColorTune provides a large number of scanner, monitor and printer profiles. To create customised scanner profiles, you can use the IT8 colour test charts supplied with Agfa's ColorTune. With the input profile setup, FotoLook can preview the result on screen as a softproof and make colour conversions on the fly when scanning. A flexible option, ColorTune’s ICC profiles can be used with a variety of applications for complete colour control throughout the imaging system.
