Overview of PRS O&M Visibility Features
Coming of the MBB Era
As more and more smartphones are used and telecom operators offer more attractive pricing strategies for mobile broadband services, the number of MBB subscribers increases quickly. Mobile apps are ever-changing, and new services (with video as the representative) develop rapidly, which pose increasing demand on user experience.
Defining and measuring user experience is the new standard for experience-based network deployment in the MBB era.

Challenges and Comparative Advantages Offline evaluation (without PRS MBB)
Online evaluation (with PRS MBB)
Low efficiency
High efficiency
Manual DTs are time-consuming and labor-intensive.
Network data can be obtained in real time. MRs of live network subscribers are used to represent the network status. Telecom operators are responsible for performing DTs.
Indoor coverage hole
Indoor visibility
Indoor coverage holes cannot be evaluated.
Indoor and outdoor traffic feature libraries are established based on MRs and CHRs on the live network. Then, indoor and outdoor differentiation is achieved based on the indoor and outdoor traffic feature library, network characteristics, and user behavior.

Passive
Proactive
Subscribers lodge complaints and then engineers resolve problems based on experience. Problem locating is passive and in low efficiency.
Problem areas and causes can be proactively identified using multi-dimensional comparison and analysis.

Valuable Features Number of subscribers xMbps Visibility
Focuses on the high traffic volume, identifies valuable areas, and continuously guarantees the revenues of valuable areas.
Focuses on throughput experience, enables xMbps visibility anytime anywhere, and helps build a fast network.
Coverage Focuses on network coverage, implements refined indoor and outdoor differentiation, and eliminates weak coverage problems.
VoLTE Focuses on LTE voice experience, improves voice quality, and helps occupy the LTE market.
Facilitating Efficient O&M Geographic evaluation
Efficiency improvement
The PRS renders the target area and clearly displays problem grids.
After the PRS MBB is used, the network construction and O&M efficiency increases by six times.
One-time query The PRS automatically obtains, analyzes, and displays network data.
Wireless Network Information Center
Effect evaluation The PRS compares data before and after network construction and allows users to evaluate the network construction effect visually.

PRS Presentation Series - VoLTE Visibility
Splendid Debut of VoLTE Voice over LTE (VoLTE) is an IP data transmission technology with services over LTE networks. VoLTE provides both high-speed data services and high-quality audio and video calls and enables data and voice services to be carried on the same network.
High-quality audio and video services + rich user experience = VoLTE Larger network capacity
LTE voice calls (VoLTE)
Wider voice coverage

Better voice quality
VoLTE MOS
2G/3G MOS
GSM/UMTS voice coverage
Shorter call setup delay
MOS (Mean Opinion Score) , MOS, short for mean opinion score, measures voice quality in telecommunications networks. A higher MOS indicates a clearer voice.

Identifying low-throughput regions (expectation)
The method based on manual DTs and offline tools is time-consuming and labor-intensive. After a complaint is lodged, it takes a long time to identify causes and resolve the problem.

The immense amount of data reported by live network subscribers is used. Telecom operators can quickly learn real experience of live network subscribers in real time.

The analysis granularity can be refined only to the differences between urban and rural areas and between cities, and therefore refined investment is impossible.
The analysis granularity can be refined to the differences between areas in the same city, between sites in the same area, and between corners in the same street. This allows limited investment to be used in the most valuable place, which improves investment efficiency.
