This user manual describes details of testing 7UT613 and 7UT633 relays with the OMICRON Protection Test Template. General information on the usage of OMICRON Protection Testing Library items can be found in the OMICRON PTL user manual. The template has been tested with the following relay: Manufacturer: SIEMENS Model: 7UT613 MLFB: 7UT61315EB111AA0 Firmware Version: V04.61.04
1.1 Supported Relays The following relays can be tested with the Protection Test Template: 7UT633 7UT635
2.
Software and Hardware Requirements
To use this template, you must have a valid test license for the OMICRON Test Universe 3.01 software or higher versions and the following test modules: Control Center Diff Configuration Diff Trip Time Characteristic Diff Operating Characteristic Diff Harmonic Restraint Overcurrent Ramping State Sequencer
Six current outputs are required to use this PTT. With a CMC156 an additional current amplifier is necessary.
There are multiple possibilities of wiring a 7UT613 or a 7UT633 relay to a CMC test set. The advised connections are shown in Figure 1. These connections are the default settings in the Hardware Configuration of the PTT.

5.1.2 Relay Information section This block has been added for relay specific parameters. The sections include all tolerances that can be found in the 7UT613/7UT633 relay manual. Typically, these blocks don't have to be changed, as the parameters are already set to the values given in the user manual of the relay.
5.1.3 Circuit Breaker Information Leg a - c This block has been added for circuit breaker information. This section includes parameters which have to be changed by the user according to the customer power system.
5.1.4 Test Tolerance This Block includes the information of the test tolerance.
5.1.5 Transformer Information Additionally, the Transformer Information subblock contains transformer information needed for testing. This information is crucial for testing transformer differential relays, because important test values are calculated on the basis of the transformer information. For the 7UT613/7UT633 relays, the following transformer data has to be set prior to testing: Number of Legs: States whether the protection object is a two- or three-winding transformer (this setting is linked and shouldn't be set by the user).

Reference Leg: The reference side of the transformer, typically the high-voltage side
Specific Protection Tests
In this chapter the specific protection tests, which are not covered by the OMICRON PTT User Manual, are described.
6.1 Diff Harmonics Blocking Test The Diff Harmonic Restraint test module is used for checking the correct relay behavior of the harmonic restraint of the differential protection, for example, used in in-rush and over-fluxing/over-excitation relay functions. Three currents are required for this test, which is carried out on the reference winding side. For the test a search line is placed at Idiff = 1.5 × Iref. Notice: Additional search lines can be added by the user.
6.2 Thermal Overload This function is often depending on a thermal image with additional restart inhabitation. Therefore it may be necessary to reset the thermal image after each test shot for a correct display of the tripping characteristic.
