1 Introduction

1

Introduction

The RRU3908 is an outdoor remote radio unit. It is the RF part of a distributed base station and can be located near the antenna. The RRU3908 performs modulation, demodulation, data processing, and combination combination and division of baseband signals signals and RF signals. With the Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology, technology, the RRU3908 can support the dual-mode operation of either two modes of GSM/UMTS/LTE GSM/UMTS/LTE through software configuration modification. To meet the requirements for radio network deployment, the BBU3900 and RRU3908 are connected through a CPRI interface that uses an electrical or optical cable to transmit CPRI signals. The BBU3900 and the RRU3908 are connected in dual-star topology. That is, the CPRI port on the GTMU is connected to CPRI_W on the RRU3908, and the CPRI port on the WBBP or LBBP is connected to CPRI_E on the RRU3908, as shown in Figure in Figure 1-2.

As recommended in 3GPP TS25.104, the receiver sensitivity (full band) is measured at the antenna connector on condition that the channel rate reaches 12.2 kbit/s and the Bit Error Rate (BER) does not exceed 0.001.



The receiver sensitivity is measured on the center frequency at the antenna connector on condition that 12.2 kbit/s Adaptive Multi Rate (AMR) service is in progress and the BER does not not exceed 0.001.



2.6 Output Power 

The LTE bandwidth can be 1.4 MHz, 3 MHz, 5 MHz, 10 MHz, 15 MHz, or 20 MHz. 2T2R is supported.



The GSM power is measured when the modulation scheme is GMSK. If the modulation scheme is 8PSK, the output power is 1.8 dB less than that in GMSK mode.



Only RRU3908 V2 modules support the V2 specifications.



The RRU3908 at 1800 MHz supports the LTE mode in terms of hardware.





The output power is 1 dB lesser than the standard power when the RRU3908 is located at a height of 3500 m to 4500m; and is 2 dB lesser than the standard power when the RRU3908 is located at a height of 4500 m to 6000m.



2.7 Power Consumption 
