ORE PART 1 STUDY PLAN APRIL 2016 introduction: hello Drs, I hope you find this plan useful. I have divided the plan into four main parts, the first part is studying clinical sciences, the second is MCQ solving on the clinical part, and the third is studying basic basic dental sciences, finally the fourth part is a free revision period for everyone to study at his own pace and work on his weak points. I made sure that the maximum number of papers to be studied a day is less than 20, so that all of you who are busy can still follow this plan too. the plan will start on 1/6/2015, which also leaves 4 days for anyone who doesn't have the books yet to buy them, if u already got the books you can start from tomorrow. from now t ill 21st of April (which is the expec ted exam date), we have 10 months and 20 days, I constructed the plan as the following: 1-from 1/6/2015 to 30/9/2015 is the clinical sciences study period 2-from 1/10/2015 to 10/10/2015 MCQ on the clinical part 3-from 11/10/2015 to 31/1/2016 basic sciences study period 4-from 1/2/2016 to 20/4/2016 20/4/ 2016 revision and MCQ solving period
first these are the books we are going to need: main study books: 1-oxford handbook of clinical dentistry 6th edition 2-oxford handbook of applied dental sciences 3-churchil handbook of clinical dentistry 4-master volume one 5-master volume two 6-human physiology-vander
7--medical problems in dentistry-scully 8-anatomy for dental students-atkinson 9-essentials of dental radiography-whaites 10-bda advice sheets
MCQ books: 1-pastest MCQ in dentistry 2-pastest EMQ for dentistry 3-pastest SAQ for dentistry 4-pastest best of five
1- the first period: clinical study we will study 4 books in this period 1-oxford handbook of clinical dentistry from 1/6/2015 to 15/7/2015 (1 month and 2 weeks) 2-master volume one from 16/7/2015 to 6/8/2015 (3 weeks) 3-master volume two from 7/8/2016 to 31/8/2015 (3 weeks) 4-churchill handbook of clinical dentistry from 1/9/2015 to 30/9/2015 (one month) *I gave the handbook of clinical dentistry the most of our time as it is the most important, and the biggest one of them, during the studying period of each book we can have all the discussions we need on the group, there is no need for a separate time for it. remember the faster you finish the book the more time you will have to revise it , and please do not skip any chapters in these books and study them thoroughly as these are already a summary to the big text books that are from the GDC list.
2-the second period: solving MCQ on the first period from 1/10/2015 to 10/10/2015, we will solve and discuss all the questions that we have o n the clinical part, everybody can share all the MCQ they got on the group.
3-the third period: studying basic dental sciences 1-oxford handbook for applied dental sciences from 11/10/2015 to 21/11/2015 ( month and 2 weeks) 2- human physiology-vander from 22/11/2015 to 5/12/2015 (2 weeks)
3-medical problems in dentistry from 6/12/2015 to 19/12/2015 (2 weeks) 4-anatomy for dental students(or any other anatomy book you like) from 20/12/2015 to 2/1/2016 (2 weeks) 5- essentials of dental radiography-whaites from 3/1/2016 to 18/1/2016 (2 weeks) 6-from 18/1/2015 to 31/1/2015 this period will be for reading the BDA advice sheets, studying any topics from other textbooks if you want to, and solving MCQs on the basic dental sciences part. *the oxford hand book for applied sciences is the most important and it covers most of the basic sciences part, so study it well.
4-the fourth period: revision period from 1/2/2016 to 20/4/2016 (2 months and 3 weeks) in this period you will refresh all the studied topics from the clinical part then the basic science part, then keep solving MCQ till the exam date.
in the end, I know this is going to be a tough and a long journey, but here are some motivation: 1-push yourself because no one else is going to do it for you 2-it always seems impossible until it is done 3-there is no elevator to success, you need to take the stairs 4-motivation is what gets you started habit is what keeps you going 5-wake up with determination go to bed with satisfaction 6-you don't want to look back and know you could have done better 7- work hard in silence, let your success make the noise
