Muslim Youth Translates Hanuman Chalisa into Urdu
India is a land of Gods and many religions. Be it many festivals pertaining to that or whatever, but but Indians consider themselves to be religious.
A Muslim man hailing from Jaunpur has translated the Hanuman Chalisa into Urdu.
This came right after an Urdu poet Anwar Jalalpuri translated the Bhagvad Gita into Urdu. I have translated the !anuman "halisa in #musaddas$ style which comprises si% lines. &i'e a #chuapai$ has four lines, #musaddas$ has three #shers$ and si% lines, said Abid Alvi who carried out the transition. !e said the translation has a total of () *bandhs, each containing si% lines. *I always wanted both communities +!indus and uslims- to 'now each other$s culture. Therefore, I want that Urdu boo's are translated into !indi and vice versa, he said. *It is because people should 'now each other. This will strengthen brotherhood, unity and love. Therefore, I did this wor', he e%plained. *The idea +to do the translationcame to my mind during aranasi visit where some foreigners as'ed people to recite !anuman "halisa, he said. Alvi said though he was a student of !indi, it too' him three months to translate !anuman "halisa into Urdu to do /ustice to the wor' and avoid any mista'e. 0n whether he faced any opposition, Alvi said, *1hen I as'ed several persons whether there would be any problem in doing it they said 2uran preaches to maintain communal harmony at any cost. !e felt that though people read religious boo's, many do not understand its true meaning. *y father used to ma'e me understand the meaning of each and every word of holy 2uran, he said.
Why translate this? Because he wants communal harmony between two nations +3a'istan and India-. !e also says that it would strengthen brotherhood, unity and love. !e also says that he didn$t face any sort of barriers because that$s what the 2uran preaches 4 communal harmony.
What was the inspiration? 1hile being in aranasi, there would be many foreigners as'ing about the !anuman "halisa. Thus, the idea came to his mind to translate it.
Next translation? !e plans to translate the 5hiva "halisa ne%t. Abid Alvi has been a student in !indi and he says that his father used to teach him the true meaning of every religious boo'. Isn$t this ama6ing7 After the Bhagwad Gita, now this8 !ail his spirit. Good wor', Abid Alvi.
