Workshop: Getting started as a translator As part of your English Learning Process, it is important to get familiar with technical vocabulary in order to be able to translate short pieces of texts containin technical information.

To make a good translation it’s important to know the technical vocabulary, to understand the context and to be sure that the words that you’re using have meaning. 2. Translation is a complex activity because you have t o take an idea, to transform it in another language and to make sure that the “new” idea is exactly the same. The words are different because you are changing the idiom but the meaning has to be the same. 3. What do you think is necessary to do a correct translation?
