It is the responsibility of the magician to be certain of his intent, and yes, I believe you must seek her annihilation if you want a full-blown curse to succeed. If not, then perhaps your magic should be more self-directed and of a healing nature. Gather some minor possession of the subject, preferably hair, fingernail clippings, etc. Since she was an ex-lover, use the power of psychosexuality to your advantage and take a pair of her underwear. This will serve to connect you emotionally with the target of the curse, and aid in your visualization. Using some flamable material (colored tissue-paper will do the trick), fashion a simple doll, using the hair (or other material) as stuffing. You don't need to create a work of art here...just something that you can identify as the target. While creating your effigy, recite a mantra you have made based upon the target's name. (Info on creating mantras can be found in Carroll's book _Liber Null_). Pick a remote area on a moonless night, bring a candle (black), needles, chalk, a sharp knife and some flamable liquid (lighter fluid works). Light the candle. Chalk a "destructive" power symbol on the ground. Some people use the Satanic baphomet, some use the counter-clockwise swastika...use whatever you like, the more personal, the better (I prefer a skull and crossbones). Place the effigy in the center of the symbol. Invoke Abaddon the Destroyer. You must write your own invocation here, but be certain to make a good case for calling this Lord of Wrath into being. Be formal about it, and be certain to mention his all his titles and deeds (The monsters of the pit can be extraordinarily vain!) Inform him of all of your target's crimes, and your malevolent desires. The more impressive you make your invocation, the more likely it is that Abaddon will take heed. Do not expect him to appear in physical form, but if you are confident in your invocation, rest assured *he is there*! Now invoke every bit of rage and hatred that you can summon. Everything. I mean it, focus all your being on this tiny range of emotion, and direct it onto the effigy. The effigy (and hence, your target) is responsible for all of it.
With loathing and distain, plunge the first of the needles into the effigy's abdomen. This is for fear. Concentrate on the terror you want the target to feel. Take as much time as you feel you need to express this desire. Repeat, this time put the needle in the head. This is for confusion. Invoke an image of blurred hysteria and insanity. Concentrate. Stick the final needle into the effigy's heart. Twist it a few times if it makes you feel good. This is for the anguish that has been caused to you. May it return to your target a hundred-fold. Concentrate on anguish. Using your knife, slice the effigy open from head to groin, being certain that the cut connects the pins you have placed in the effigy. This is the action that will send the target on her way to complete annihilation. Be passionate about it. Place the effigy in the center of the chalk symbol. Put the lighter-fluid on it (be sure you are careful that there is nothing else flamable about, like grass, etc). Call on Abaddon to work your will, and release this curse onto the world. Set fire to the effigy. As it burns away, imagine all your anger and hatred dissipating with the smoke. Let it all drift away with the smoke and flames. You have set your desires into action, now you must release those desires. (Imagine a magic curse to be like throwing a baseball; it only works when you let the ball travel away from you. The more you hold back, the less successful the throw.) Forget about her, and get on with your life. Rest assured that the curse will take root in time. "Mr. Scratch" (
[email protected]) -----------------------------------------DEATHSPELL (2) To secure the death of a foe: Get some wax from an old church or, failing that, from what is called a 'botanica shop' (Catholic Magick). Out of the wax, make what is called an 'effigy'. Now it will be better if you can get some of your enemy's hair and/or clothing or finger/toe-nails. Put them at the appropriate place on the effigy. When you've made it, then set it up on your altar. Seal the association with some blood. Get some blood from a butcher or if you have to from your finger with a pin. Smear this on the effigy, especially on the head and the genital area. Do this in candle-light and don't let anyone else know you are doing it. Enact the spell. Make up some nonsense words (the Lord's Prayer said backwards is good) and chant these as you drive a pair of scissors deep into the heart of the effigy. Imagine a great sword penetrating the chest of your enemy and see hir falling to the ground with a heart-attack or perhaps some sort of industrial accident. Drive those scissors in deep and leave them there on your altar for exactly 3 days, meditating on this image and the potency of your spell. Again, don't tell anyone you're doing this. Within three days your enemy will be dead. Take the effigy and scissors and wrap a clean white cloth around them. Tie it up real good and put a few large stones in with them. Go to the nearest body of water and throw this into it sometime near midnight. Don't let anyone know that you are doing this either.
Don't say anything about your spell to anybody for at least a week. If you find out that your enemy didn't die, then don't tell anyone for two weeks. They'll die sometime within the next month. Sometimes the evil gods need to know you are serious before they will allow you to carry out your wrath. Don't take public credit for the death. If you do, they'll lock you up or consider you a suspect of what may appear to authorities to be a murder. IMPORTANT NOTE: This spell is very powerful. It should be used in PLACE of physical violence. Violence is often illegal and will likely rebound upon you, just like the bambi-wiccans say. They only know SOCIAL laws of magick. Do the spell just like I told you and forget about the person, secure in the knowledge that you have caused them everlasting torment. You see, their soul will not go to heaven. Since they were killed with magick and you've thrown the effigy into a body of water, they cannot ever get into heaven until someone finds the effigy and removes the scissors in a magical rite. Fat chance. :) It's as simple as that! of thing.

To the best of my knowledge, SavvyBoo13 is wrong -"drive-away" salt, powder, incense, oil et al are NOT the same as plain, ordinary salt, powder, incense, oil, et al. "Drive Away," also called "Hot Foot" or "Get Away" is the name for a related group of African-American hoodoo formulas used in ridding oneself or one's neighborhood of unwanted persons. If you do manage to throw a curse on this person, be prepared for the kickback you will eventually receive. It's one thing to curse or hex someone who is threatening your life or the life of a loved one or your property (in this case it's protective... I keep a curse on my car in case anyone is stupid enough to break in to or try to steal it), but it's quite another to do so because you're jealous or out of revenge. Throwing a curse is easy enough. Just gather a jar, any and all nasty materials you can think of (rusty nails, broken glass, roaches, herbs [especially those with noxious odors], etc), and a picture of the person or their name written on a sheet of paper. Put the ingredients into the jar one at a time while visualizing and concentrating on your intent. Put the picture or name into the jar. Say a rhyme or chant that indicates your intent and what you want this to accomplish. Close the jar and bury it where it won't be disturbed. Then wait for the results (WARNING: if your intent was caused by jealousy or revenge, then the results will not be pleasant for *YOU*). Or you can do it the old-fashioned easy way. Go stand near the person and yell out your curse at them (yell their name and point your finger at them to make sure you target the right person). Make sure you include what you want to happen. Same warning applies. Normally I don't post any type of spells on a newsgroup, but I'm making an exception in your case. If your cat Kippy had been black rather than an orange tabbly, the ashes might be used in black cat powder, a hoodoo formula favoured by gamblers. I myself manufacture and sell a Black Cat Oil/Powder/Incense formula made with
the HAIR of a black cat (three healthy, happy black cats). A good use for your cremated ashes-of-cat might be to add the stuff to graveyard dust to make goofer dust. For this, you need to collect dirt from the graves of those who died young of illnesses or accidents and sift this dirt with ashes. The cat-ashes would do very nicely, especially if the cat died of a sudden illness. Add also some powdered sulphur, red pepper, mullein leaves, snake skin, spider webs, and crushed insects and/or crushed snail shells. Goofer dust is used in the African-American hoodoo tradition to drive people away, harm them, make them sick, and send them to their deaths. The strongest method of application is to sprinkle it around a person's bed while he or she is asleep. Sprinkling goofer dust around someone's bed is a seriously intrusive piece of bad work and is not to be undertaken lightly. The practitioner must perform a purification ritual (bathing with hyssop) after doing the job. [email protected]) The Lucky W Amulet Archive: http://www.luckymojo.com/LuckyW.html -----------------------------------------CROSSING AND JINXING (and UNCROSSING, TOO) "Crossing" is a uniquely African concept in magic, a sub-set of the African magical tradition known as "footprint magic," whereby one can affect another by * gathering up their footprint-dirt and working with it * causing them to step upon or walk across something (e.g. Crossing Powder or Hot Foot Powder) that will harm them * causing them to contact with their foot something that will bend them to your will (e.g. Court Case Root or Essence of Bend-Over) * placing something in their shoe to harm them (e.g. Goofer Dust) * collecting one of their socks and working with it. Let me give an example of this: one common way to cross someone is to sprinkle crossing powder across their trackway or doorstep, or use the old crossing ingredients of gum arabic and unravelled bits of hemp rope that will stick to their shoes. Anyone who walks across such a mess gets crossed, and this can be the cause of crossed conditions when one has no enemy. A jinx, on the other hand, is undertaken in someone's NAME, so if you are jinxed, and want to get unjinxed, it helps to know who put the jinx on you so you can call their name back at them. One of the most common ways to cross someone is to sprinkle Crossing Powder, Hot Foot Powder, or Goofer Dust across their trackway or doorstep, or dress their socks or shoes. I have even heard of women who will dress their own privates so that a man will drag himself in it and lose his nature or jinx up his love life.
Another way to fix a person is to get something personal of theirs and stop it up in a bottle with roots and nails, pins, or needles. Your hair may have been gotten this way, or a piece of your clothing, or your personal concerns. This trick may have been done to you by an enemy to control you, dominate you, or get revenge on you by destroying your happiness in love and money matters. When a person's footprints are not immediately available, one can symbolically cross (or uncross them) by the use of oils, candle-burning, and incense; hence one might use Uncrossing Oil on a candle as part of a spell to remove the Crossing. So, if you have been having bad luck for three years but you have no enemy and you check around your home and find nothing that anyone could have put there to jinx you (like burying something in your front yard) then you are probably crossed, not jinxed, and an Uncrossing candle would be the one to use. To counteract the effects having been Crossed, one uses the herbal formula known as Uncrossing. This can be prepared in the form of powder, sprinkling salts, bath salts, or floorwash. (Note: the use of ritual floorwash and ritual sweeping is another subset of African footprint magic.) Jinx Removing and Uncrossing are similar -- except that a jinx must be put on you, but crossed conditions can result from accidental exposure to crossing elements. Recipes for Crossing and Uncrossing, like other aspects of footprint magic, have been recorded as far back as slavery times, when white people first began writing down what black people used for magic. Crossing and Uncrossing formulas are not exactly "brands." They are a well known and well recognized family of formulas in the hoodoo magical tradition -- as easily understood as something like "Artemis Oil" would be in the neo-pagan tradition. There are certain general expectations as to the ingredients and method of use. Formulas may vary, of course, but the approach would be the same. Compelling formulas are based around calamus root and other natural ingredients. Some of the ingredients found in crossing, jinxing, and hot foot formulas and spells are: footprint dirt, cayenne pepper, black pepper, sulphur, sugar, salt, graveyard dirt, crossroads dirt, ashes, crushed snail shells, spider webs, crushed insects, unravelled hemp rope, gum arabic, rattlesnake dust (powdered shed skin of a rattlesnake), and black hen's eggs. Items used in uncrossing formulas include cayenne pepper, black pepper, sulphur, sugar, salt, crab shell ash, devil's shoe strings, beef gall, chicken feathers, hyssop leaves, and bath or wash water. After you have crossed or jinx someone, you need to purify yourself. Do this by lighting 2 white candles and taking a bath in some purifying herbs or Uncrossing type bath preparation. Hyssop herb is what is recommended in the Bible for purification. The hyssop bath is something you can make up yourself from hyssop leaves or you can buy ready-made Hyssop Bath Oil or Uncrossing Bath Crystals with Hyssop. Look up the 51st Psalm; this is the one that tells you how to use the hyssop bath. Don't fill a tub of water; just use a pan full. You stand between the 2 white candles, recite
the 51st Psalm, and pour the water over your head. After this bath, some people then use the dirty wash water to wash down their floors and especially the doorstep of the house. In any case, once you are done with the wash water, carry it out of the house and pour it on the ground at a crossroads (not down the drain). Then go home and light a Cast Off Evil candle. This will bring you relief from the sin of having created crossed conditions for your enemy. I think i have said enough here to point you in the right direction. [email protected]) -----------------------------------------COFFIN NAILS A Malaysian charm designed to bring sickness and ill health to a victim calls for 1/2 lb. of melted wax, and a bit of hair or a piece of clothing belonging to an enemy. If clothing is used, cut or tear it into tiny pieces. Mold the wax and cloth, or hair, into an image of the person to whom malice is intended. After the doll is ready, take a coffin nail and prick it over and over, repeating several times, "it is the heart that I prick, it is the liver that I prick, it is the spleen that I prick, it is the brain that I prick." The ritual is repeated each evening for three evenings in a row. After that time, wait nine days. If the victim is still well, the magician must try a different spell for the victim has been protected by counter-magic or some protective witchcraft. A modern spell to cause an enemy to go mad is done with a voodoo doll, a coffin nail, some Black Arts Oil, and fire. The doll should be carefully labeled with the foe's name. On the first evening of a full moon, place a coffin nail in a bottle of Black Arts Oil or pour some oil in any small container and place the nail in it so that it is fully covered and can soak well. Leave the nail for nine nights, and on the tenth night, pound the nail into the doll's head. It is alleged that, before the next full moon's coming, the victim will be cursed with severe headaches, faulty memory, and deep depression. If you wish to cause an enemy to move away from you, an almost unfailing ritual can be performed with nine coffin nails, some graveyard dirt, and crossing powder mixed with get away powder. Just mix together the dirt and the two powders so that it is thoroughly blended. The proportions are not important, but about one third of each ingredient is best. Divide the potion into nine approximately equal portions and place each portion into a small envelope with one of the coffin nails. Each evening go to the enemy's home and throw the contents of one envelope in the path where the foe must walk to enter or leave the home. Do this each evening for nine consecutive nights, and it is probable that by the tenth day this enemy will be moving from the premises. Another modern spell which is designed to bring tragedy to an enemy is made with a piece of wearing apparel from the intended victim. Take the clothing and cut it up into as many pieces as you wish, or can get from the material, or squares about 6" on all sides. Use one square each night.
Write the foe's name on a piece of parchment backwards and state your curse on the other side of the paper. The curse can be said in your own way, or it can just be something simple like, "___(name)___ is cursed, ___(name)___ is damned forevermore." The writing should be done with Dragon's Blood Ink to which a drop of Black Arts Oil and a pinch of valerian has been added. Then, fold the square up, turning the folds away from you, never toward yourself. Take the folded piece of clothing, with the curse inside and nail it on your enemy's front door, using a coffin nail. Do this each night until your mission has been accomplished. anna riva -----------------------------------------COMPELLING A LIAR TO CONFESS If you suspect someone is a liar but are not sure, get a purple candle and dress it with Compelling oil. Write the person's name on a piece of parchemnt paper nine times and cross and cover that name with your name nine times. Place the paper under the candle and burn it for seven days while the moon is waxing. Each night you light it, call the person's name and say, "I compell you to tell me the truth!" On the seventh night wrap the left-over candle wax in the paper and throw it in running water or at a crossroads. He will be compelled to tell the truth then and may confess to many lies. [email protected]) -----------------------------------------BANISHING A TROUBLESOME PERSON Use a black candle, with a picture of the person (if obtainable) placed underneath, also a piece of parchment with the person's name on it. Carve the Divine Names "Eel kanno taf" onto the black candle. Anoint the candle with Banishing Oil. Burn for nine nights, each night reading Psalm 94. Put the candle out after Psalm is done (NOT by blowing it out). On the last night let the candle burn all the way down. While the candle burns (on each night), meditate and focus STRONGLY on the aim in mind. Imagine STRONGLY the person leaving you alone; imagine STRONGLY their evil deeds turning back onto themselves. Do this for about 5 minutes each night before you pray the Psalm. (Note: a purple candle could also work for this, but I used black because this person had been REALLY harassing in a serious way). sami (

Take a black candle and place a picture of thine enemy in front of thee and tilt the candle so the wax drips upon the would-be victim in the picture. Visualize the wax burning sores into the body of thine enemy. While doing so, recite the following 3 times... As I do this candle spell Bring mine enemy 3 nights of hell Candle black, black as night Bring him pains of flesh tonight! Lesions on his skin will grow Afflict him with a painful blow Sores and pain afflict him now For 3 nights he'll wonder how Dukes of darkness, Kings of hell Smite mine enemy, bring him hell When 3 nights of pain have passed Make him well, well at last After sitting and thinking about the sores that this will infflict thine enemy and the pain he will suffer, thou mayestthen extinguish the candle.
