UCARSOL LE 701, 702, and 703 solvents, solvents, are three high-performance gas treating solvents, from The Dow Chemical Company are specially designed for H 2S, CO2, and trace sulfur (e.g., mercaptans and carbonyl sulfide) removal from natural gas a nd refinery streams. These are MDEA-based, physical/chemical hybrid solvents which offer lower regeneration energy demand, lower hydrocarbon solubility and less degradation than other commonly used hybrid solvents, resulting in the potential for significant operating cost savings. UCARSOL LE 701 solvent is designed for selective H 2S removal with enhanced trace sulfur removal and controlled CO2 pick-up. The ability a bility to slip CO2 helps maximize treating capacity while minimizing acid gas handling. In certain cases, UCARSOL LE 701 solvent can also be used for efficient bulk CO 2 removal. UCARSOL LE 702 solvent is designed for H 2S, trace sulfur, and complete CO 2 removal. It has the ability to remove significant quantities of mercaptans and carbonyl sulfide from feed gases, while meeting low H 2S and CO2 specifications. specifications. UCARSOL LE 703 solvent is a customized version of UCARSOL LE 701 solvent. Generally, the information provided for UCARSOL LE 701 solvent also applies to LE 703. If you have a specific question regarding UCARSOL LE 703 solvent, please contact Dow at the numbers listed on the back of this publication.
UCARSOL LE 701, 702 and 703 solvents offers these important advantages: Significant Significant energy savings through reduced reboiler duty and decreased pumping • requirements because of lower solvent circulation. Enhanced mercaptan, COS and other trace sulfur removal versus generic solvents. • Elimination of solvent reclaiming. • Reduced solvent loss because of low foaming tendency and lower solvent vapor • pressure. Increased acid gas processing ability with existing facilities. • Technical support and complete solvent services to t o assure ongoing trouble-free • operation.

The results of actual field experience in operating units indicate that UCARSOL LE solvents, maintained properly and used as specified, exhibit very low corrosion rates.
Solvent Services, an integral part of the technical service effort provided by Dow in support of UCARSOL and SELEXOL™ solvents, is of great importance to gas processors. Detailed chemical analyses of operating solutions, coupled with basic plant operating data, allow us to recommend corrective actions that will help avoid plant problems and permit operation in an optimum mode. The series of analytical tests performed on UCARSOL and SELEXOL solvent solutions is designed to detect specific problems in a gas treating plant, as well as the underlying causes of these problems. Once the complete set of analytical data is generated, sound technical and economic recommendations are made based on our in-depth understanding of the chemistry, physics, and chemical engineering principles of selective gas treating, coupled with years of field experience in gas purification. Our laboratory facilities have the most modern analytical equipment and the capability of completing all the required analyses in the minimum turnaround time and with a high degree of accuracy. Results requiring immediate attention are communicated by telephone and are transmitted in a Technical Service Report.
