What is happening in the picture? This painting represents a dance in the Moulin de la Galette, a popular picnic spot in the Parisian district of Montmartre. The light is seen through the trees, and reflected in the clothes. In the first plane, on the right below are some diagonals created by benches and a table where the painter's friends are sitting. Almost in the center sees a couple that gives the feeling that the whole party revolves around them. In one of the banks there is a lady and a girl and a man and a woman, who do not know if they are arguing or courting. The movement that is seen in the painting, the feeling that people are dancing, is given by the waving of the heads. Still lifes are presented, among which are a vase and some glasses on the table. It has influences of photography, since it cuts the bodies. What is the woman and the man doing? ( a) What are they wearing? The woman and the man in the center of the painting dance with a typical clothes of the time.
What is the man with hat next to the tree doing? ( b) The man looks at a woman who does not want to dance with him What are the girl and the woman doing? ( c) What do you think they are talking about? The girl talks to her mom while she is sitting
