event notesFull description
The novel that I read was ‘Dear Mr Kilmer’ by Anne Schraff. The event that I find unforgettable is the unfair treatment towards the Schermers. I would lie to e!"lain why I feel this event is unforgettable to me. #irstly$ I don’t lie to be called bad names. In the story$ #irstly$ story$ %annah’s schoolmates called her ‘Dirty %un’. They even scribbled &Dirty %un' all over her boo cover. (nfortunately$ (nfortunately$ some Turtle )ae "eo"le believed that %uns were a barbaric clan originated from *ermany. Do you lie it if "eo"le start calling you Dirty Malay+,hinese+Indian- This is ust childish and e!tremely immature and that’s why I find it unforgettable. Secondly$ I don’t lie when my loyalty towards my country being /uestioned. So me Turtle )ae’s )ae’s residents said that the Schermers were un"atriotic because they s"oe *erman and served %un food at their tavern while a war was going on against ag ainst *ermany. *ermany. To To mae it worst$ their tavern was vandali0ed by some irres"onsible "eo"le of the community which I considered as com"letely uncivilised. So$ let’s get this straight. If I were a Malaysian ,hinese and I am selling ,hinese food. Does this mean I am not a loyal citi0en of Malaysia ust because I sell the food- The answer is no. I am still a blue1eyed Malaysian. 2esides that$ %annah’s brother 3tto was serving in the Army to fight *ermany *ermany.. Therefore$ this accusation is totally baseless and ridiculous. And that’s that’s why I thin it is unforgettable. Thirdly$ I thin we should stand for what is right although everyone goes against you. 4e 4e can see this when Mrs %ansen ased her class to sign a sym"athy card for the Schermers. 5ichard was the only student who signed the sym"athy card for %annah Schermer and sent it to the family "ersonally. The troublemaers lie Abner$ Abner$ %arry$ 2lanche and 6eggy refused to sign the card. 3n to" of it$ they warned other classmates not to sign the card. This is ust wrong and 5ichard had shown a great e!am"le to stay genuinely righteous des"ite all the unfair treatment towards the Schermers by others. This attitude is very much commendable and maes me find the event is unforgettable. In conclusion$ although the Schermers was mistreated by some Turtle )ae "eo"le$ they remained calm and "atient.
