A city has a population of 600000 persons. Rate of consumption = 250L/consumer/day.

The surface water source is a lake and raw water has SS= 50ppm. Coagulants for clarification is about 30ppm

For preliminary design of water treatment plant calculate the following:

1.Rapid sand filters (number and dimensions).

2.Total weight of cl2 for one year if dose = 0.8ppm.

3.Ground Water Tank Dimension & Volume (Reservoir).
