Data Set used in the Petrel The Gullfaks data data set has been released released for commercial commercial use by the Noregian oil company Statoil! Gullfaks is one of the ma"or oil #elds in the North Sea and one of the largest oil producing #elds on the Noregian continental shelf$ %ig! 3!& Gullfaks is an oil and gas #eld in the Noregian sector of the North Sea operated by Statoil 'ydro! (t as disco)ered in &*+*$ in block 3,-&0$ at a ater depth of &3. meters /,,!*&3 foot1! The initial reco)erable reser eser)e )e is !& !& bill billio ion n barr barrel els$ s$ an and d th the e remai emaini ning ng reco) eco)er erab able le reser)e in 00, is 3, million barrels! This oil #eld reached peak production in 00& at &20$000 barrels per day!

Development The sea depth in the area is &30 4 0 meters /,5!.0* 4 +&!+2, foot1! The #eld has been de)eloped ith three integrated processing$ drilling and accommodation facilities ith concrete bases and steel topsides$ Gullfaks A$ B and C! Gullfaks B has a simpli#ed processing plant ith only #rst4stage separation! Gullfaks A and C recei)e and process oil and gas from Gullfaks S6r and Gimle! The facilities are also in)ol)ed in production and transport from Tordis$ 7igdis and 7isund! The Tordis production is processed in a separate facility on Gullfaks C!

Reservoir The Gullfaks reser)oirs consist of Middle 8urassic sandstones of the 9rent Group$ and :oer 8urassic and ;pper Triassic sandstones of the Cook$ Statf"ord and :unde formations! The reser)oirs are &+00 4 000 meters /..++!,+4 5.5&!5+* foot1 belo the sea le)el! The Gullfaks reser)oirs are located in rotated fault blocks in the est and a structural horst in the east$ ith an intermediate highly faulted area!
