Scope
This document applies to accessories used with round steel chains as specified in EN 14330 as studless anchor chains for inland navigation vessels. It specifies the construction, dimensions and testing of accessories such as joining links and end links, chain swivels, end shackles, swivel shackles and Kenter-type joining shackles. It does not apply to anchor equipment consisting of cable stoppers, cable lockers or end fastenings, for example.

End shackle
For dimensions of end shackles (3.6), as shown in Figure 4 and Table 4 in ISO 1704:1991, see Figure 6 and Table 6. The bolt is secured by a tin-plated taper pin, Form B, to EN 22339. The hole shall by plugged with lead to prevent corrosion of the pin. End shackles comprise the bracket and the oval unscrewable bolt.

4.1.7
Swivel shackle
For dimensions of swivel shackles (3.7), see Figure 7 and Table 7. The swivel shackle is an alternative to the swivel outboard shot. The bearing surface of the nut shall be capable of accommodating any possible movement of the fork.

Kenter-type joining shackle
For dimensions of Kenter-type joining shackles (3.8), as shown in Figure 5 and Table 5 in ISO 1704:1991, see Figure 8 and Table 8.. The Kenter-type joining shackle is used on board for joining round steel chain and swivel shackle.

Anchor swivel
This assembly consists of joining link (3.1) to the round steel chain and the non-detachable anchor swivel (3.10) secured to the anchor, see Figure A.1. 4.2.2
Swivel shackle
This assembly consists of joining link (3.1) to the round steel chain and swivel shackle (3.7) with nondetachable anchor shackle secured to the anchor, see Figure A.2. 4.2.3
Swivel outboard shot
This assembly consists of chain swivel (3.5) with enlarged link (3.3), common link (3.2) and joining link (3.1) to the round steel chain and enlarged link (3.3) and end link (3.4) on the end shackle (3.6) for joining to the nondetachable anchor shackle secured to the anchor, see Figure A.3.

5.2 Strength and mechanical properties Accessories for studless anchor chains shall have at least the strength and mechanical properties specified in EN 14330 and shall be heat treated as specified in 4.3 of EN 14330:2003

Testing
6.1 Strength test The strength test shall be carried out as described in clause 5 of EN 14330:2003.
6.2 Dimensions Dimensions shall correspond to the values given in Tables 1 to 8 taking into account the tolerances for: a) forgings: forging grade F as specified in EN 10243-1 and b) parts made by cutting: ISO 2768-c (in accordance with ISO 2768-1).
