CE 101 – Civil Engineering Drawing – 2016-1 Lab Exercises – 5 – Due date 29/11/2016 For this exercise you have 4 orthographic projections that you need to draw their isometric projections in AutoCAD. Each projection takes place in one page of this file. You should draw all the figures in one AutoCAD file. However, only one of these figures will be graded. This figure will be chosen after the due date of this exercise. You need to draw the necessary dimensions over the figures in the proper way. Before you start drawing: a.
Create a New drawing drawing file and Save it by your Name – Student Number and CE 101 LE5 as a suffix. (Example: John – 1234567 – CE101 LE5.dwg) b. Besides of the default layer “0”, create three new layers named “Dimensions” for all types of dimensions, “Hidden” for all the hidden lines and “Layout” for the title block and the layout . c. Make the default color for the Dimensions layer Green Green and and for the Hidden layer Red Red.. d. For each figure you need to draw a layout and a title block like the ones in Lab Exercise -4-.
After you finish drawing: e. For each of the four layouts created you need to save that layout as a PDF file, which means you will submit one AutoCAD file and four PDF files. The names of the PDF files should be the same as the AutoCAD file but with a suffix of “-the number of the figure”. (Example: John – 1234567 – CE101 LE5-1.pdf) f. To create the PDF files you need to use the Plot command. On the Plot Box appeared, choose AutoCAD PDF (General Documentation) under the Name of the Printer/plotter. After that, choose the Paper size as A4. On the Plot area choose Window from What to plot menu, and then by using that window choose the layout that you want to plot. Before you press the Ok button, make sure that Center the plot and Fit to paper boxes are checked. 4.000
