CATIA V5 DRAFTING IN AUTOMOTIVE CATIA DRAWINGS
1. OBJECTIVE Creation of Drawing similar to reference PDF file and as directed by client. 2. INPUT FROM CLIENT A. Reference PDF file B. Drawing Template (already shared by client at the start of the project) C. Word file (for Specific Drawing instructions given by client) D. CATPART/CATASSEMBLY E. Excel File For 2d points import (If required) F.
Word File for Export and Import of points from Cat Part to Excel file.
G. CATIA V5 R19 (Software) 3. WORK PROCEDURE A. FOR CREATING FRONT VIEW i. First Open the Template in which Drawing is to be made. Then do save as by name of the part, whose Drawing is to be made. ii. Open that PART. iii. In the View Toolbar click Front View option.
iv. In every Part there is FEATURE FOR 2D DRAWING. Under this option there is PLANE FOR FRONT VIEW. Select this plane for ge tting Front view (If plane is not given then try to get front view similar to reference PDF using XY/YZ/ZX plane or any main surface of the part)

Whenever view is generated, by default view axis (refer below figure, blue L shaped) is also visible when we double click on it.
Select it and Hide it using Hide option
.
Selecting this turns orange in color
then click on Hide option
.
Now the view appears as shown in below figure. It is mandatory that axis system is hidden by this method only (required by
