CARRIE! (One final lunge) CARRIE! (The chain breaks, revealing GARDNER. Hysterical, CARRIE reaches up and clutches her white shorts -- leaving a bloody handprint.) CARRIE Help me! GARDNER Damn it! (To calm her, GARDNER slaps CARRIE. At that same instant, there is a BRIGHT FLASH OVERHEAD as a NEO LIGHT sizzles and explodes like a FLASH OF LIGHTNING -- SPARKS FLYING DOWN from above. A long beat -- everyone freezes as it sizzles out. Then): GARDNER Carrie? NORMA
Gawd… MARY ANN Didja see that?! MADDY What the hell? SHELLY Jesus! ROSE
