TRANSFORMACIONES LINEALES FUNCIONES VECTORIALES. – Para definir los conceptos de transformaciones lineales, previamente se debe definir a las funciones vectoriales y sus características. DEFINICION. – Una función vectorial de variable vectorial, es aquella función que por variable independiente (v) y dependiente (w) presenta a vectores. Si V, W son espacios vectoriales y F es una función que asocia un vector único en W con cada vector en V, se dice que F aplica V en W, escribiéndose F: V-W. Si F asocia el vector w con el vector v se escribe w=F(v), entonces se dice que w es la imagen de v.
En términos generales una función vectorial de variable vectorial se comporta como cualquiera función escalar de variable escalar. A las funciones suele llamárseles también aplicaciones de correspondencia.

Ejemplo Una función vectorial de variable vectorial es: v = (x,y)
F(v) = (2x + y,x + y,4y)
Si: v = (2,1)
F(v) = (5,3,4)
Si: v = (1,0)
Si: v = (0,0)
F(v) = (2,1,0) F(v) = (0,0,0)
Función donde V es de vectores de dos componentes (R 2), W es de vectores de tres componentes (R 3) Así por ejemplo para el vector (2,1) se asocia el vector (5,3,4) bajo F.
Ejemplo Una función vectorial de variable vectorial es: a) F(v) = (x + 1, y + 3) si: v = (x,y) Si: v = (2,1) F(v) = (3,4) Si: v = (1,0) F(v) = (2,3) Esta es una funcion de R 2 en R2 (De vectores de dos componentes se pasa a vectores tambien de dos componentes) b) F(v) = (x 2 + y2, xy, x-y) si: v = (x,y) Si: v = (2,1) F(v) = (5,2,1) Si: v = (1,0) F(v) = (1,0,1) Esta es la funcion de R 2 en R3
