Limestone Conveying System Bucket Elevator In order to get the Limestone from ground level to the top of the Limestone Silos, a single continuous operating, chain-driven Bucket Elevator is provided. The Bucket Elevator , which operates at a design speed of 120 feet per minute or 37 meter/minute, is located on the north side of the two silos.

Control of the Bucket Elevator is completely independent of the DCS. The only indication the DCS receives is operating status, “ On/Off” . The Bucket Elevator can be started or stopped from the conveying system PLC via “ Start” and “ Stop” pushbuttons.

At ground level next to the Bucket Elevator there is a local control box with a Selector Switch with the following opt ions…
Jog-Off-Remote Jog – Spring loaded switch to run the elevator for short periods of time. Off – Stops Elevator Remote – Allows start from PLC.
