Beliefs can open up the circuitry for new possibilities. Again, if you believe something is possible, you will open up those circuits that give

you the potential to learn to do that thing. If you don‟t believe it‟s possible to le arn to get good with women, you won‟t even open up the

circuitry that‟s there.

Beliefs can open or close access to flows of information. Again, if you

don‟t believe something is possible, you won‟t see it, pay attention to it or take in the information. Because I believe certain things about women, I can see things that are obvious in their responses that I know are like the gold-key roadmaps to seducing them. Other guys don‟t see

it because they don‟t believe it‟s even there.

Beliefs can open or close access to talents, abilities and capabilities. They can also open or close access to flows of feeling, energy and

vibe. I happen to believe that we don‟t live only in a cause -and-effect material reality. We also live in a reality that includes the possibility of connecting with people non-locally, outside of cause and effect, time and separation of space.

Kiado used the idea of getting rid of old beliefs. When I‟m teaching

someone, I look at what they‟re asking for and ask, “Is that really the best way to p hrase it?” Is it really necessary to get rid of old beliefs? Is it possible? Is it the optimum solution?

I don‟t think we ever get rid of a belief, nor should we. You never know when it might come in handy. The aim is not to get rid of old beliefs, but to have freedom of choice and be able to take on a belief that suits you in the moment like a suit of clothes. don‟t want to wear your party clothes to work. You want to pick and choose what you wear. There‟s nothing more mag ical than being able to design the beliefs that serve you for the context in which you‟re going to use them.

My question is, “What can we do to create a state from which we can observe our patterns, beliefs and filters and create choice?” In other words, rather than having our perpetual way of perceiving and acting glued to us, what if we could create a state where we can see those

beliefs and say, “No, maybe that‟s not so useful here”?

The real answer here is to develop what I call a “witness consciousne ss.” The best way I know to do this is to develop vipassana practice, taught by my teacher, Shinzen Young. You can see the link for Shinzen, www.Shinzen.org.  I also mention the possibility of Gurdjieff who talked of reaching this from a different

practice, but I like Shinzen‟s practice best.

Here‟s what I say. First of all, don‟t get rid of the old belief. You want to attenuate it. You want to take the energy out of it and stop repeating it, dwelling on it and feeding it with emotional energy. Then, take the energy you were adding to it and redirect it into the new beliefs and

new ways of thinking. Rather than clearing it out, you‟re going to recycle it.

What do you do to get a belief-reprogramming ritual? First of all, you want to learn to energize breath. Second, you‟re going to create an

“anything‟s possible” circle and step into it. Then, you‟re going to imagine the old belief outside the circle as an image or symbol.

Let‟s back up here and look at these steps. I don‟t think I can go backward in this program. Let‟s talk about energiz ing breathing. Many of you know the breath of fire. It‟s basically rapid breathing from your belly, in and out through your nose. Do that for 10 minutes. Energize yourself with breath.

Then, you‟re going to draw a circle on the ground. I do this on the beach, so I literally take my finger and draw a circle in the sand. If you

can‟t do that, you can take a stick and imagine that it‟s actually drawing a circle on the ground. This circle is going to be the place where anything is possible. When I do this, I imagine that inside that circle is a place where anything is possible and anything could be made real. The only thing that determines what will occur is my will, intent, energy, imagination and emotion.

I step into the circle. As I do, I imagine I‟m peeling off a wetsuit. I actually make the physical movements with my hands and arms. I

mime like I‟m taking off a wetsuit. That wetsuit I leave outside the circle represents any kind of limited pattern of thinking, feeling, believing or interpreting that would get in my way.

Then, imagine the old belief outside the circle as an image or symbol. Imagine the energy draining out of it, however that happens. You can imagine a brown or black color coming out. You can imagine it running out through little tubes.

Next, I want you to imagine the energy is being purified. It‟s being recycled. The metaphor I would give you is how astronauts get fresh

drinking water in space when they‟re up in the International Space Station. Do they bring the Sparkletts truck out into orbit and fill „er up? No. They recycle their urine.

Imagine that energy is going through a series of filters . It‟s being purified.

Then, I want you to see it returning to you for your peace of mind, grounding and a balanced, unlimited sense of possibility and wonder. This is incredibly powerful when you do it. It makes you unbelievably attractive to people on a subtle level.

I want you to extend your actual physical arm outside the circle.

Imagine you‟re writing the new belief outside the circle. Imagine you‟re actually writing the letters. Allow the letters to form some kind of symbol. Charge up with breath again. After a few minutes, blow the energy of that breath into the symbol.

Finally, I want you to reach out and bring the symbol inside yourself. Lie down. Imagine the new belief integrating through your past. Imagine what it would be like if this new belief had been with you in your past. I want you to finish the ritual by either falling asleep or stepping outside

the circle and saying, “This work is now completed . I release any and all demand for result.” This, in a very brief session, is how you do a ritual.

There‟s a crucial last step. This really matters, Kiado. Immediately take some action, however large or small, that‟s congruent and in line with the new bel ief. I‟ll say to myself, “What can I do right now to begin to

move in the direction of this belief?” If the old belief comes up, just imagine taking the energy from it and putting it into the new belief.
