They are aggressive and can be a little pushy when they want things to go their way – just like a strong rooted tree; immovable unless chopped down. When you think of Yi Wood, it is best to imagine pretty, creeping vines and flowering, soft, green plants. The appearance is one of grace and tidiness, and is typically characterized as being a ‘soft wood. Similar to that, Yi Wood people are often docile and calm in appearance and temperament. They are often well-mannered and soft spoken.

Others get a sense of safety when dealing with Wu Earth humans because you certainly know that a mountain is not going to be there one day and disappear the next. Resourceful is the key word when describing a Ji Earth person. This group of individuals are akin to the soil that nurtures the plants. They are productive, capable, and usually creative. Don’t be fooled by their stable demeanor – they come equipped with a thousand different talents and abilities.

Ji Earth people are also perfectly capable of taking lemons and turning it into lemonade. They are highly adaptable and don’t really have a problem with coping with different situations and circumstances. Ji Earth is the most lenient and tolerant of all 10 Day Masters. Just like how the earth can be worked on for long periods of time in the process of farming and cultivation, Ji Earth people can also be the kind of people who will take a lot of hardship and work. The only problem is, sometimes, they don’t recognize their own worth. Nurturing, caring and honest – the concept of ‘Mother Earth’ applies to Ji people. They have the strongest maternal instinct, and the inclination to nurture, protect and look after other people. Because of this, others usually tend to turn to Ji Earth people for a helping hand.

Xin Metal people love attention. They exhibit a certain measure of vanity and usually display an polished level of showmanship – the quickest way to get into a Xin Metal’s good books? Employ a little flattery their way. They have a unique way of thinking and can be intensely creative and imaginative. While everyone else starts from A and goes through B in order to get to C, Xin Metals would just waltz in and find a way to directly sail from A to C without any trouble at all. They don’t see the world in quite the same way as the rest. However, despite their often superior mental capabilities, Xin Metal people have a tough time separating emotions from reason. They tend to make decisions and judgements in a haphazard manner and are prone to being rash and impulsive. Positive Xin people usually have good instincts though. They are known for being intensely ambitious and single-minded. They can adapt very well into any situation and will always be diplomatic.

There are times when others may find it hard to predict what Ren Water might do next. They can appear to be willful in wanting to do whatever they please and doesn’t like to be tied down. Because of this, there will be times where the people around you will have a tough time keeping up with you. Like the ebb and flow of the tide, Rens can also be moody and temperamental as a result of their changing interests and passions. Special Note 1: A positive Ren Water person is one whose chart is balanced and generally strong. A bad Ren Water person is one that is too strong (in his/her chart) will find that they have the opposite ends of the positive points of a Ren Water. Unpredicted and elusive, Gui Water people are never fixed in one place. Most people might even find them hard to figure out. They are naturally the best multi-taskers and some of the most creative people to have around.

The Cosmic Trinity HEAVEN
Heaven is the hand you are dealt. It is what is given to you, not by your choosing but by forces beyond your control. Your date of birth and who your parents are prime examples. EARTH
Modern science agrees that the environment help shapes a person. The people in that environment, the inanimate things in that environment as well as the living environment itself all play a role in influencing a person’s personality, behaviour and habits. In Chinese Metaphysics, Earth refers to the invisible forces and energies that influences someone. Some of you know this as Feng Shui. MAN
Last but not least, there’s Man. This is your own FREE WILL. The choices you make and take. The sum amount of all the choices you make equals to the quality of your lives, I’m sure you’ve all heard of this. Chinese Metaphysic, in particular Qi Men Dun Jia and BaZi, it is about making known to the user with absolute clarity - the options that are available and that you can choose from. These forces continuously influence one’s destiny which is not carved in stone.
The 5 Elements Producing Cycle

The producing cycle refers to the phase where the 5 elements supports and strengthen each other. You can see that this cycle is in harmony and in constant motion. Imagine it this way: Water nourishes plant, hence Water produces Wood. We need Wood to start Fire, so Wood produces Fire. Fire reduces Wood to aches, these ashes return to the Earth - hence Fire produces Earth. Metal are found from the Earth, so Earth produces Metal. And then, we use Metal to attract Water via condensation.

In the concept of Yin and Yang, we want balance. This is when Counter comes in. Counter is not necessarily bad, it’s merely a check and balance measure to ensure the Elements are in harmony with each other. We need Water to control or extinguish Fire. So Water controls Fire. Fire in turn is required to melt and mold Metal - Fire makes Metal more malleable. Fire controls Metal. Now, we need an axe or blade to cut Wood into smaller pieces. Blades or axes are made of Metal. so Metal controls Woods. How do you prevent landslide or soil erosion? You need trees/plants to do the trick. So, Wood controls Earth. Now, no matter how large a body of water such as the lake or ocean, it is still bordered by the land. So, Earth controls Water.

In the Weakening Cycle, any Element that produces another Element is weakened by the Elements is produces. So, in this sense, Earth produces Metal and is therefore weakened by Metal. Water corrodes Metal, so Water weakens Metal. Plants need Water to survive, so Wood weakens Water. In turn, Fire burns Wood and reduces it to ashes, so Fire weakens Wood. Once Fire has completely reduced Wood to ashes, it will be naturally extinguised by Earth. Hence, Earth weakens Fire.
