About the composer James Bastien has written a great deal of music that has been enjoyed by both children and adults. H e has been a faculty member at Notre Dame, Tulane, and Loyola Universities, and a summer faculty member at Tanglewood and the National Music Camp at Interlochen, Michigan. W h e n h e was a student at Southern Methodist University, his piano teacher was Gyorgy Sandor. Mr. Bastien now resides in La Jolla, California, where he and his wife continue to write music of interest to piano students.
