Introduction • The ATP is universal program s&stem or digital simulation o transient phenomena o electromagnetic as "ell as electro mechanical nature in electric po"er s&stems. • It can simulate comple* net"orks o po"er s&stem and control s&stem. • +ain contri%utors are rs.W.,cott +e&er and Tsu-huei 'iu (earl& /01).
Operating Principles • ATP predicts varia%les o interest "ithin electric net"orks as unctions o time2 t&picall& initiated %& some distur%ances. • Trape3oidal rule o integration is used to solve the s&stem dierential e$uations in time domain. • Initial conditions4 user deined or determined automaticall&. • TA, (Transient Anal&sis o ontrol ,&stems) ena%les modeling o control s&stems. • ,&mmetric or uns&mmetric distur%ances are allo"ed (e.g. aults2 lightning surges2 s"itching2 commutation o valves). • It supports re$uenc& response and harmonic anal&sis.
!ard"are #e$uirements • 1096Pentium-%ased P:s "ith +,-Windo"s /;6/06NT6<===6>P2 min. 9-+? #A+2 hard disk (<= +? ree space) and 8@A graphics is suicient to e*ecute ATP under +,-Windo"s. • 'inu* (@N5 version o ATP)
Program apa%ilities • No a%solute limits have %een reported. • 'argest perormed simulation has4 ?usses4 9=== ?ranches4 ==== ,"itches4 <== ,ources4 /== Nonlinear elements4 <<;= ,&n. +achines4 /=
ATP Tools ATPra" (graphical preprocessor to ATP) • ATPra" is a graphical2 mouse-driven pre-processor to ATP on the +,-Windo"s platorm. • In ATPra" the user can construct an electrical circuit using the mouse and ATPra" generates the ATP ile in the appropriate ormat. • All kinds o standard circuit editing acilities cop&6paste2 grouping2 rotate2 import6e*port are availa%le in ATPra".
Plot> (Plotting program) • It is a plotting program to generate eas& and ast scientiic line plots using data collected rom P'1 ile ater running. • +ain Program eatures are4 - up to 0 plots per sheet. - allo"s plots versus time. - allo"s linear and logarithmic scales. - scaling2 osets and 3oom support. - automatic a*is scaling and la%eling. - cursor to see values in numerical ormat. - printing and Windo"s +etaile e*port acilities.
ATA selection "indo" • Once the program is activated2 the data selection "indo" is displa&ed. • The varia%les in the "indo" are rom .P'1 iles and are prei*ed %& one or t"o character string2 that is4 BvC or voltages BtC or TA,
BcC or currents BsC or s&n. +achines
• To select varia%les to plot2 click on them. • an perorm addition2 su%traction and multiplication o onl& t"o varia%les. • ,caling actor and osets can %e added. • an re$uest automatic time conversion to min D hour.
• Time is taken on >-a*is %& deault. To use a dierent varia%le as > varia%le simpl& click in the corresponding cell in the > column o the varia%le. lick on Plot to plot the selected varia%les. I the user "ants to e*port in an output ile2 in numerical orm2 then click on icon save varia%les. an save as .AE2 .+AT ile. To enter multi-ile mode2 click on the %utton Allo" +ultiple iles on the right-upper part o the Bata ,electionC "indo".
'icensing • ATP sot"are is ro&alt& ree and can %e do"nloaded ree o charge rom several sites. • !o"ever2 ATP licensing is mandator& prior to get permission to do"nload the program.
