The social support networks of procrastinators: Friends or family in times of trouble?
“Pata de palo” “Tarea olvidada” “¿Por qué siempre me pasa a mí?”
Procrastination tendencies were significantly related to more conflicts in relationship with one's parents and best friend of the same sex, as well as less depth in the relationship with one's father and same sex best friend. Results from these studies were obtained for both men and women. It seems that frequent procrastination may be associated with poor family relations and disrupted or dissatisfying social relationships.

Results of hierarchical multiple regression analyses predicting procrastination revealed significant interactions between parenting styles, adolescent gender and self-worth. For females only, the effects of maternal authoritative and authoritarian parenting on procrastination were mediated through the self-system, whereas paternal parenting had a direct relation with procrastination. These gender effects in the role of the self-system are discussed in relation to parenting and procrastination.

INTERVENCIONES ESPECÍFICAS Procrastination at Work and Time Management Training
The author examined the impact of time management training on self-reported procrastination. In an intervention study, 37 employees attended a 1 1/2-day time management training seminar. A control group of employees (n = 14) who were awaiting training also participated in the study to control for expectancy effects. One month after undergoing time management training, trainees reported a significant decrease in avoidance behavior and worry and an increase in their ability to manage time. The results suggest that time management training is helpful in lessening worry and procrastination at work. Eerde, W. V. (2003). Procrastination at work and time management training. The Journal of psychology, 137(5), 421-434.
Egograma Behavioral self-control in treating procrastination of studying
56 college students who procrastinated in studying were given either behavioral selfcontrol training or a nondirective, attentionplacebo control procedure. Experimental clients were exposed to training in either stimulus control, self-reinforcement, or a combination of these 2 methods. Half the Ss used selfpunishment, half did not. Half were trained individually and half in groups of 4. In terms of reported amount of study time and attitudes toward studying, experimental Ss improved, whereas control Ss did not. However, there were no significant differences among experimental subconditions. Neither control nor experimental conditions resulted in any significant change in overall grade point average. Reducing Academic Procrastination Through a Group Treatment Program: A Pilot Study The present study assessed a short-term group treatment program using cognitive interventions focused on students’ procrastination. A structured 90-min session program was used with 10 students (5 female, 5 male; M age = 21.8, SD = 3.2) across 5 weeks. In the first and last session of the program participants completed a two reliable and valid procrastination scales, and then 8 weeks later in the follow up sessions filled out the same questionnaires. During the group sessions, participants identified their irrational thoughts as well as cognitive distortions associated with their procrastination tendencies. Results of a nonparametric Friedman Test revealed a significant decrease in participants’ academic procrastination score and general procrastination scores from the pre-test to follow-up test suggesting that the program was deemed to be successful.

Japanese perspective on client inaction and procrastination: Morita therapy
The present paper discusses how client inaction and procrastination are understood and dealt with from the Morita therapist's perspective. Clients stuck in self-defeating patterns of thinking and action are discussed in terms of their futile preoccupations with adverse feelings and failure to recognize their freedom in choosing and implementing action. Clients in Morita therapy come to accept and persevere with unmanipulable feelings, previously used as excuses for their avoiding and procrastinating behaviours. Seven factors inhibiting or retarding clients' desirable action taking are discussed. A contrast is made between Morita and Western cognitive therapies.

Juego psicológico Experimental studies in explicitly paradoxical interventions: Results and implications
A dozen experimental studies have assessed the effectiveness of paradoxical interventions with agoraphobia, depression, insomnia and procrastination. The studies suggest that paradoxical interventions are more effective than no treatment and placebo treatment and are as effective and, in some instances, more effective than other behavioral interventions. Several studies show that the wording of paradoxical interventions affects their impact.

Overcoming the Patterns of Powerlessness That Lead to Procrastination
To help individuals change their patterns of procrastination, treatment must address the factors that produce the powerlessness they experience. The powerlessness reactions that many procrastinators demonstrate are evident in their negative perceptions of self-worth, irrational thinking, and lack of self-efficacy. In exploring the factors that produce powerlessness, researchers have demonstrated that procrastinators denigrate themselves, are highly self-conscious, make negative social comparisons, and lack self-control. A therapeutic model that addresses these factors by enhancing feelings of self-respect, building self-confidence, and providing strategies for improving a sense of personal efficacy can reduce the personal powerlessness that feeds procrastination. CONCLUSIONES
1. Procrastinar
