Analisa sistem sistem nodal adalah suatu sistem pendekatan dengan dengan cara grafis guna optimisasi produksi sumur minyak dan gas, berdasarkan hasil evaluasi keseluruhan sistem produksi sumur dari dasar sumur hingga ke permukaan melalui pipa salur ( flow line). Kegunaan analisa sistem nodal ini antara lain adalah : 1. Menentukan laju produksi sumur berdasarkan ukuran tubing yang dipergunakan. 2. Menentukan ukuran tubing yang sesuai dengan kemampuan produksi sumur (laju produksi optimal). 3. Menentukan ukuran jepitan (bean, choke) yang sesuai dengan kemampuan produksi sumur. 4.
Menentukan ukuran panjang langkah (stroke length) dan kecepatan pemompaan pada sistem pompa angguk (sucker rod pump).
Didalam penerapan analisa sistem nodal guna menentukan ke4 komponen diatas umumnya dilakuan dengan menggunakan kombinasi kurva IPR. IPR. Untuk proses proses analisa sistem sistem nodal nodal ini (lihat Gambar) dapat dilakukan dengan melalui 3 titik nodal, yaitu :

Titik nodal di dasar sumur : tujuannya untuk menentukan tekanan kepala sumur (Pwh) dengan menggunakan kurva pressure traverse aliran vertical.
Titik nodal di kepala sumur : tujuannya untuk menentukan tekanan aliran dasar sumur (Pwf) dengan kurva pressure traverse aliran vertical atau tekanan separator (Psep) dengan kurva pressure traverse aliran horizontal.
Titik nodal di separator : tujuannya untuk menentukan tekanan kepala sumur (Pwh) dengan kurva pressure traverse aliran horizontal.
