What AM A M ORC Is MORC is the abbreviated name of a movement established many years ago in America to carry on the ideals and purposes of the Rosicrucian Brotherhood. These ideals and purposes have to do with the b u il d in g o f c h a ra c te r a n d th e d ev el o p m en t o f per p er s o n a l, d o rm a n t, o r u n u s ed m en ta l an d s p irit ir itu ual faculties, possessed by every man and woman. Th e organization organization teac teaches hes the application application of the human faculties and capacities to the solution of everyday problems, according to metaphysical, psy p sy ch ol og ic al , s p ir it u a l, a n d n a tu ra l laws la ws . T h e f o u nd n d aatt i o n o f t h e A M O R C m ov o v e me me n t was established by the first Rosicrucians who came to America in 1694, as a result of the growth of the uplifting activities of the Rosicrucians in Europe and other parts of the world. The organization is not new in any sense, since it traces its actual historical existence back through the centuries to the mystery schools established by the philosophers and savants in the first first cen tury of the Ch ristian Era. Its traditional history, filled with romance and alluring stories of achievements in the illumination of civilization can be traced through the preChristian eras to the temples of sacred teachings in Egypt, Persia, India, and Chaldea. tion is to the spiritual and mental comprehension of men and women who desire to master the complex problems in life through efficient and understandable methods. The absence of fanatian d per cism or extremes in the teachings or practices of the Rosicrucian doctrines has earned for the organization the unqualified endorsement of all types of minds, and especially those which cannot countenance the element of erraticism in things either spiritual or worldly. The organization opens widely its doors to the seeker for that knowledge which will enable him to unfold before his view the possibilities that follow in the path of his mental, psychic, and metaphysical development. Its teachings embrace the great spiritual truths of all times, and include the application of these truths to the practical affairs of our daily lives. It offers, offers, instead of this, a means for the prevention of unnecessary suffering, and a practical method for the alleviation of those tests and trials, and such discomforts as result from a lack of knowledge of natural and spiritual laws, or the violation of pri p ri n ci p le s w hi ch affe af fect ct th e s p ir it u a l, m e n ta l, an d ph ys ic al bo di es o f m an . The teachings reveal man in his true ontological relationship with the Cosmos and his spiritual association with the God Consciousness and Divine Mind within him. Every applicant for association with the AMORC movement must have a firm conviction in the existence of God, or a Divine Mind, or a Great Architect, or Universal Omnipotent Intelligence, ruling the universe and giving life and consciousness to all beings. Each applicant must be of good moral repute, and not engaged in any practice or hobby contrary to the moral and ethical laws of the country. The instructions are so arranged, systematized, graded, and beautifully presented that memorizing is not required. Conscious effort of a tiring nature is not necessary in order to comprehend even the most important of the principles and experiments used in the practical applications for the solving of personal problems, or the meeting of even extraordinary conditions.

Members are not required to do anything that interferes with their business or social activities, nor are there any assessments or obligations that cannot be conveniently met and willingly or enthusiastically volunteered.
