1 Introduction 1.1 Purpose This document describes how the Amadeus Altéa Departure Control Customer Management GUI is packaged and configured, and provides guidelines for installation. The document deliberately doesn’t define how to use the GUI, although it does contain sections that reference how errors and warnings are handled, and how keyboard usage works. The reader is referred to the document at Reference 2 for detailed information about getting started with the GUI (e.g. keyboard mapping, application shortcuts, login/logout), before using the GUI. The CM GUI can be considered as the main application being deployed, but it is packaged along with an additional application called the 1A-Launcher. The 1A-Launcher is a very thin client application used to identify the correct version of the GUI to load amongst a number of other installed versions. 1A-Launcher fulfils the following high level functions: It acts as single entry point for configuration for all Amadeus GUIs, thus simplifying the task of Airport Site administrators. For instance, in addition to workstation environment variables and command line options, 1A-Launcher loads and parses a unique configuration file and forwards relevant settings to the GUI as Java properties. It controls the validity of each GUI version to be launched. Typically two versions of a given GUI are installed on the workstation (version N and version N-1) during the migration phase. 1A-Launcher is able to start the correct version of the GUI by querying a centralized Amadeus Version Server. This feature is useful in production environment in case of discrepancy or fallback. It can download patches from Amadeus Host (Version Server) and pass the downloaded fix to the GUI which patches its own code on the fly. It allows reducing GUI launch time - in slow environments (i.e. slow network and/or overloaded file server) - by compressing and/or caching locally the GUI jar files and JRE files. It allows installing an Amadeus Java application as Windows service that runs in background even if no user is logged in. It is not the aim of this document to specify the 1A-Launcher in detail. Further details about 1ALauncher and other GUI management topics can be found in Reference 1.
1.2 Hardware and Software Minimum Requirements Minimum PC configuration:
© 2016 Amadeus IT Group SA
800 megahertz (MHz) processor. 512 megabyte (MB) RAM. At least 384MB RAM should remain available for the GUI.
Should the application detect that the PC does not have the minimum recommended memory a warning will be displayed in the splash screen at launch time. This will not block the application from launching.

The display and video-adapter requirements is at least 15-inch CRT or 13-inch TFT screen with at least 800x600 pixels x 256 colours. In case the Airport Site administrator wants to install the application on the workstation itself and not on the file server, then the minimum space required is 600MB for the installation of two versions of CM. The GUI is designed for and tested on Windows XP and Windows 7. Please note that Microsoft no longer supports Windows XP so their usage is not recommended. The application runs in a Java version 1.7.0_80 In order to be able to run the 1A-PE (embedded in CM Application), on an ARINC platform, ARINC peripheral manager PCP32 must be activated. The Customer Management GUI is designed to be primarily keyboard driven, but also usable with the mouse. Refer to Reference 2 for a definition of the keys (e.g. tab, arrow, and menu-keys) used in the application. Please note that the required minimum configuration is subject to the Airline negotiation with the Airport representative or Platform provider. Amadeus expectation is that this minimum configuration will be available.
1.2.1. Altéa Reservation Desktop (ARD) Minimum Requirements In order to be able to run ARD (embedded in CM application), this is the minimum PC configuration:
© 2016 Amadeus IT Group SA
Intel Core2Duo processor family or later 2 gigabyte (GB) RAM Display resolution 1024x768
1.3 Network Minimum Requirements The network protocol is TCP/IP. IP connectivity is to be enabled in the airports where this model is to be put in place. Altéa DC JFEs are resolving the IP-Addresses via DNS-Names. Since on a certain number of Airports DNS-Service is not available, the bypass is to define the DNS-Names in a HOSTS-File. The administration of HOSTS-File is under the responsibility of the Local Airport Site Administrators. R&D-ASL-AIR-CMG-CMC-INT Last update: 03/03/2016 Page 5 of 60

1.4 Installation of 2 Versions For Fallback purposes, Amadeus always require two versions of the GUI to be available on the workstation (either locally or on the file server).
1.5 GUI Log Files 1A-Launcher and CM application generates GUI log files allowing further investigation in case of problems with the application. These files may be required by Amadeus for troubleshooting. Location and parameters for the log files are described in chapter 2.4

2.2 First deployment of the application Step1: Airport Site Administrator downloads the application following guidelines provided to him/her by his/her Central organization. In case download is not possible, then the Airport Site Administrator will have to request a CD to be shipped. This zip package contains the Platform Provider’s Installation Instructions on top of the present Amadeus Guidelines (for the Amadeus application and as well for the WorkstationID set-up). Step 2: Uncompress the ZIP file to the Airport File Server (for example U:\
\Amadeus) or on the Workstation itself. The directory CustomerManagement will be created (e.g. under U:\\Amadeus). Please note that the application becomes active as soon as the new version has been unzipped. Therefore it is mandatory that the Airport Site administrator follows the instructions in the work order provided by his/her central organization. It is important that the requested date and time of the installation is adhered to. Step 3: Configure a short-cut (icon) for all the workstations that will be using CM, to call 1ALauncher.exe. This file would have been extracted as part of Step 2 into the top-level folder. Step 4: Configure each short-cut to identify the workstation it is running on, the platform it is running on and the airline details. The minimum mandatory parameters are the WorkstationID, the airlineCode, the airlineNumericID, and the platform. The rest of the parameters are described in chapter 2.4. Note that steps 3 & 4 are being described by the Airport Site Administrators Central Organization, and therefore the corresponding scripts or Installation Instructions should be part of the package provided to the Airport Site Administrators by their Central Organization. Information on WorkstationID can be found in Reference 3 document.
2.3 Subsequent deployments of the application Step 1: same as described in the previous chapter Step 2: same as described in the previous chapter. The file MUST be uncompressed in the same folder as the first time when it was extracted. An important point for this subsequent installation is that the application MUST not be running at the time when the zip file is uncompressed, otherwise the 1A-Launcher file will not be replaced by the new one and an error message similar to the following one

onus of getting the setup as described below in the airports, for ARD to work as expected.
3.1 Root Certificates Installation ARD Web uses SSL connections. To support SSL communication, it is required by JFE to have the Certifying Authority’s root certificates in the operating system’s key store. Here is the list of certificates used by JFE for this purpose. All of the below mentioned certificates should have been installed in the windows key store. These certificates have been packaged in the delivered zip file. Certificates required by ARD

4. Annexes 4.1 Details of CM Application Packaging The complete distribution comprising the 1A Launcher and GUI is made available as a compressed ZIP file having the following directory structure:
The name of the ZIP file will indicate the version and/or build numbers of the GUI. For example, the above build may be distributed via the single ZIP file named AlteaDCCM_PRD_Setup_47_4_8.zip The version server is a C++ application and the executable (1A-Launcher.exe) is available in the top-level /CustomerManagement/ directory. From v49.X.Y onwards, the GUI has been developed in standard Java (version 1.7.0_80) and the components comprising the GUI application are contained in the CustomerManagement/V49.X.Y directory. Since the local JRE version running on the local workstation cannot be guaranteed to be the required version (version 1.7.0_80), the distribution contains the required JRE in the /V49.X.Y/jre/ subdirectory. The installation procedure is very straightforward. The contents of the supplied ZIP file are extracted to a pre-defined common area on the airport provider’s file server. In the example below, let’s assume that the common area is the directory //Amadeus/. The directory structure below indicates that two versions of the GUI are installed on the file server
© 2016 Amadeus IT Group SA
(namely version 47.4.8 and 48.3.3). The configuration parameters in the //Amadeus/CustomerManagement/cfg directory allows the Version Server to select the appropriate GUI to launch at runtime.

IMPORTANT: The /cfg subdirectory contains the configuration files for the different application versions on the file server. For any distribution, this /cfg directory contains a cfg.ini file and a cfg_vL.M.N, where vL.M.N refers to the application version number. These files are identical for any particular distribution. When a distribution is unzipped to the file server, the existing /cfg/cfg.ini file is overwritten by that included in the unzipped distribution. So in the example above, assuming that V47.4.8 is unzipped before V48.3.3, there would be three configuration files present in the /cfg directory, namely: cfg.ini, cfg_V47.4.8.ini and cfg_V48.3.3.ini, where cfg.ini and cfg_V48.3.3.ini are identical. The versioning of configuration files allows the site administrator full flexibility during migration to a new version or in the case where a rollback is required.

4.2.12 Basic Device Configuration and Filtering The GUI is able to operate with various device types such as ATB and BTP printers, boarding gate readers and card readers, for example. This section describes the minimum configuration settings required for device handling. The GUI is pre-configured to include the following device types as default - no additional configuration by an administrator is required: CRT,MSR,OCR,LSR,ATB?,BTP?,DGR. If the GUI detects the presence of any of these device types from the Platform’s peripheral manager, then that device type will be available to be used in the GUI. It is possible to override this default device list, via a command line option, by providing a list of devices to include or exclude. This filter applies to individual device instances (e.g. ATB1, BTP0) as well as to device types (e.g. ATB, BTP, PRT, etc). Notice that when including/excluding a given device type, all device instances of the same type that have been found will be included / excluded. For convenience we also support a wildcard character (‘?’) for device index (e.g. ATB?) which allows the GUI to include the first available device instance without having to configure its index. This is because the index value can vary from one platform to the other. 4.2.12.1 Using the excludedDeviceList command line option This option enforces the list of device instances or types not to be scanned by the GUI at start-up. All instances of such devices will not be supported by the GUI even if they appear in the platform plug-in device list. Examples: To exclude all PRT printers: --excludedDeviceList=PRT To exclude all ATB and BTP printers: --excludedDeviceList=ATB,BTP Note that the device will be excluded even if it is also in the includedDeviceList
© 2016 Amadeus IT Group SA
4.2.12.2 Using the includedDeviceList command line option This option enforces the list of device types to be scanned by the GUI at start-up. If this option is defined only the specified device types will be supported. All others will be excluded including those defined in the platform plug-in device list. Examples: To include all devices (including CRT): --includedDeviceList= To handle only the CRT (no physical devices): --includedDeviceList=CRT

To handle only CRT and the first DGR:
--includedDeviceList =CRT, DGR?
The GUI, by default, is configured with the following includedDeviceList: includedDeviceList=CRT,MSR,OCR,LSR,ATB?,BTP?,DGR Note that a device will be excluded if it is in the excludedDeviceList
4.2.13 RESA Specific Device Configuration 4.2.13.1 List of RESA devices to be scanned at start-up On the RESA platform, the GUI will try to open devices with index 0 or 1 for each device type (e.g. BPP0 and BPP1, BTP0 and BTP1 …) as default and keep only the configured ones. Therefore, if a device is assigned a greater index, it will not be detected. For this reason you can force the GUI to scan only a specific list of devices using the command line option resa.deviceScanList. For example, to scan BPP0 and RTE0 only: --resa.deviceScanList=BPP0,RTE0 Note that we expect RESA specific devices names (e.g. BPP and RTE) not GUI ones in the value of the command line option above. 4.2.13.2 RESA RTE and GUI device mapping On RESA platforms each RTE device (e.g. desk keyboard, standalone barcode scanner) might correspond to any set of physical devices below: MSR + OCR + LSR MSR + OCR LSR However, the Altéa CM GUI converts by default each RTEn into three input devices: MSRn, OCRn and LSRn, which might be confusing for the end-user especially if more than one RTE device is configured (usually two: RTE0 with MSR+OCR and RTE1 with LSR). In this case the command line option resa.RTEn.peDeviceTypes can be used. This will ensure that we have the right number of devices with the right indexes (i.e. MSR0, OCR0 and LSR1). Example: RTE0 = MSR + OCR and RTE1 = LSR. Command line would be: --resa.RTE0.peDeviceTypes=MSR, OCR --resa.RTE1.peDeviceTypes=LSR

The format to use is: --resa.RTE.peDeviceTypes=< list of types among MSR, OCR and LSR>

4.3 Errors and Warning 4.3.1 Introduction The application can be considered as having two main types of errors - application errors and general middleware errors. Both types of error are logged to disk. This section gives a high level overview of error and warning handling and informs the reader about how to differentiate between application and system errors. This may be important for Airport Site Administrators to help to differentiate between problems with the environment setup and problems with the application.
4.3.2 Application Errors and Warnings Confirmation messages and application warnings are displayed in the GUI’s message area (bottom left corner of the screen). The warning triangle icon identifies a warning message. Confirmation messages are shown with a green tick icon.
If there are too many messages to display then SF1 is shown. This will trigger the message area

to expand and collapse.
Application errors are displayed as popups. Note the warning symbol. No error number is shown in the popup header.
