The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) predicts that planned behaviors are determined by behavioral intentions which are largely influenced by an individual’s individual’s attitude toward a behavior, behavior, the subjective norms encasing the execution of the behavior beh avior,, and the individual’s perception of their control over the behavior (j!en, "#$%)& j!en’s theory has been used to predict an array of behaviors ('artin et al&, "* +uine -ubin, "##$* .tone, /awahar /awa har,, 0isamore, ")& .ocial networ1ing sites are defined as online products such as 2aceboo1, 'y.pace, Twitter Twitter,, or other websites focused on maintaining and3or building relationships& The current study surveyed " participants about their use of these sites and a nd projected assistance offered to others with social networ1ing among hypothetical friends and relatives at ages4 , 5 and 6 years& Participants7 age varied from "8 to $ years or older (' 9 &:$) &:$) and was comprised of $" males, "58 females& The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness effectiveness of the TPB in predicting predicting students’ use of social networ1ing sites (.;.)&
