During the Joseon Kingdom era in Namwon village North Cholla Province, there lived a young, beautiful girl named ChunHyang, daughter of a retired courtesan. In the same village, there lived a young, handsome man named i !ong ong, he had much literary talent and a magistrate"s son or son of local governor. #he two meet at a festival mar$ing the fifth day of lunar month. i !ong ong, while strolling, saw ChunHyang, a very beautiful girl on a swing. #he guy fell in love with her at first sight. %t that night, he can no longer ta$e out of his mind the moment he saw ChunHyang. He as$ed ChunHyang to wait. During that time, the young girl began living a lonely life. Now, a new governor came into the village, surnamed +yeon. )uch man is very wic$ed, greedy man and fond of women. #he said wic$ed governor saw ChunHyang, was ca'tivated ca'tivated by her and as$ed as$ed her to be his mistress. mistress. *'ecte *'ectedly dly,, ChunHy ChunHyang ang refused and said he is already committed to a certain man. #he governor got mad and threatened her and 'ut the young girl in 'rison. &uc$ily, i i !ong ong ong 'assed the e*am and became a secret royal ins'ector, so e*cited to see his beloved fianc-e however, when he returned he heard about the news that the new governor wanted ChunHyang to be his mistress.
