Tailored learning
As we all learn differently, the PLDP offers a rich variety of learning methods to develop your skills Learning through Experience-70% The PLDP aims to have 70% of your learning “on the job.” This includes rotary periods, specific tasks, development of assignments in situ and on-the-job stretch assignments. Special job-stretch assignments may include getting larger scope or scale on an existing project, or being made a deputy to a more senior person. These will be specific skill-building tasks done during naturally occurring project events.
Learning from Others-20 % Participating in this program requires you to dedicate 20% of your development to “learning from others.” By working alongside experienced project managers, being exposed to experts during the knowledge transfer process, taking advantage of mentoring and coaching, as well as social networking, you will build skills.
Learning through Training-10% 10% of this program will be based on knowledge acquisition that still requires classroom-based learning. Technip University will maintain curricula that is available to you in your region. It will include various educational opportunities such as classes, seminars, simulations, and eLearning.

4 hours 30 minutes max. 30 minutes max. 60 minutes max.
How do development activities combine with my current job? The implementation of the IDP will very much depend on the competency, the gap, the mix of activities you select and your personal commitment. The on-the-job training becomes part of your daily tasks, but in some cases, you will have to arrange special learning time with your manager.
How do I organise my on-the-job learning? As you create your IDP, consult the Project Management Development Planner, an online resource on the University’s web site. It gives you numerous ways to learn on-the-job. It’s up to you to work out how you take part in naturally occurring project events that build new skills.
Is there a time-limit on reaching competency levels? Because of the differences in dif ficulty, the varying nature of competency gaps, and the different pace at which we all learn, there is no of ficial limit on reaching desired competency levels. Of course, the sooner you reach desired competency levels the sooner you can concentrate on others and take your career further.
How long does the PLDP last? It’s evergreen. There is no defined campaign with opening and closing dates. Career development is a never-ending journey as long as you are a life-long learner.
