PLUTO IN CAPRICORN: A Brief History of Pluto in the Cardinal Signs By Fran ces Racko w, CPA and Mark F. Douglas Pluto moved into Capricorn, January 26, 2008, so most of • March 4, 1761 - Saturn 29 Pisces 24 square 29 you have probably read quite a bit about this already. Pluto takes 248 years to complete its orbit around the Sun, and due to the elliptical shape of its orbit, the amount of time spent in each sign varies from 13 years in Scorpio, the fastest transit, to about 33 years in Taurus. Ray Merriman has pointed out the importance of the synodic cycle of Saturn and Pluto, meaning the cycle of the two planets in the sky forming a conjunction (0 degrees) waxing square (90 degrees) opposition (180 degrees) and waning square (270 degrees) – known as ‘‘hard aspects.’’ He has also pointed out that since the United States has its wealth planets (Jupiter and Venus) in early cardinal signs; this may explain why the transit of the slower-moving planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) to cardinal signs impacts our economy.

The History of Corporations in the United States , the Declaration of Independence, in 1776, freed Americans not only from Britain, but also from the tyranny of British corporations. For a hundred years after the document’s signing, Americans remained deeply suspicious of corporate power. They were careful about the way they granted corporate charters, and about the powers granted therein.

For a century the new nation kept corporations on a tight leash. “They weren’t allowed to participate in the political process. They couldn’t buy stock in other corporations. And if one of them acted improperly, the consequences were severe.” (Lasn) Gover goes on to tell how an important error in 1886 and a Supreme Court decision in 1976 have given the corporations the power they have today; having enormous influence over the political process with the contributions they are now allowed to make to the members of Congress. We highly recommend Robert Gover’s book, as he is a successful writer so this Astro-economic jewel is extremely entertaining as well as greatly educational. Our article is a granular look at a slice of what is covered in the book. Gover also points out that on the date of the Boston Tea Party; Pluto is at 3 Capricorn, where it returned in March 2009. So, to recap what we have covered so far. The American Revolution was started because the colonists were upset about unfair trade giving the British Corporations control of the profits; with the enforcement of the British Government, who was beholden to the corporations because they owned the debt of the government. One would surmise that the government was also collecting tax revenues from those corporations, which it badly needed. As we approach our “Pluto return” with Pluto in Capricorn for the first time since the Revolution, our government has gone deeply into debt to “bailout” corporations and government sponsored entities that got in trouble largely as a result of the failure of government to do its job of providing checks and balances, which agencies are paid to do. The large investment banks, Lehman Brothers, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch and Bear Stearns, were granted permission to raise their leverage from 12:1 to 40:1 in 2004-2005 by the head of the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission). This means they could raise their risk level far beyond the amount of capital they held. William Donaldson, who was appointed by George W. Bush to be Chairman of the SEC, to succeed Harvey Pitt who had left after the 3.85 billion dollar WorldCom “accounting error,” the collapse of Enron and other corporate debacles, approved the change. On September 15, 2008, the financial system went into a state of “cardiac arrest” as it was announced that Fannie


Mae and Freddie Mac would require bailouts. These government sponsored entities (GSEs) had over $394 billion of mortgage backed securities, issued by other institutions, in 2007. What does this mean? Beyond buying the risky “sub-prime” loans that Congress encouraged them to do, they added another 400 billion dollars, or so, of risk for us taxpayers by playing in the CDO (Collateralized Debt Obligations) markets. Purchasing CDOs was not authorized in the charters of these GSE’s. The head of Fannie Mae was Chairman Barney Franke’s significant other, and Fannie and Freddie made contributions to nearly everybody in Congress. But 400 billion dollars of assets that were not authorized in their charter and nobody has been indicted? Barney Franke repeatedly assured everyone that Fannie and Freddie did not pose a financial risk, as Alan Greenspan had claimed. We bring this up because as you will see, the upcoming aspects coincide with some big scandals, so we are wondering which of many possibilities may play out. We don’t know if the housing industry, which really gained a lot, contributed to the coffers of those who took such an interest in increasing home ownership by 4% for those “underserved” borrowers, or if it was just the mortgage industry, who made lots of money on loan origination and processing fees, or if there is another scenario. If there are about 300 million people in this country, 400 billion dollars represents about thirteen hundred dollars for every person. It is difficult to know what percentage of people owned homes, clearly not 100%, but the financial disaster could have been averted had Congress just decided to buy homes outright for an additional 4% of the population, and it would have saved us taxpayers a lot of money. We think it is pretty clear that on the “Pluto return,” we are back to where we started. Instead of the British government taxing us to support British corporations and government itself; we have the U.S. government taxing us to support U.S. corporations and the U.S. Government, which is growing rapidly. The spending on war is continuing, as it appears that the decision has been made to increase activity in Afghanistan. *** Let’s look briefly at Pluto transits through the cardinal signs, especially when squaring Saturn. Pluto moved to Aries in 1823, the year of the Monroe Doctrine. Pluto was in Aries until 1851, receiving 3 hard aspects from Saturn:

Limited research on my part suggests part of the reason for the creation of the Fed was a request from Wall Street, after the Panic of 1907, to guarantee liquidity in times of financial crisis.

THE COMING COLLAPSE OF THE U.S. DOLLAR AND FEDERAL RESERVE? By T.S. Phillips, © A.A.S., Inc. After doing extensive research on the Federal Reserve both historically and astrologically, I have reached the conclusion that we are soon approaching a point in time when the Federal Reserve system of banking could completely collapse or be completely reformed. The U.S. dollar is also on the verge of complete devaluation as a result of all the trillions of dollars the Fed is printing “out of thin air.” The history of fiat currency has always been a grave one. When currency is not backed by something tangible such as gold or silver, it is ultimately on the road to devaluation. Since the Federal Reserve Act was put in law in 1913, the value of the U.S. dollar has gone down approximately 96%! Most of this devaluation occurred after 1971 when former President Nixon took us off the Gold standard. Thanks Dick! Here’s another newsflash you may have read about before. About one hundred years ago, just before the Federal Reserve act of 1913, our nation was the most prosperous in the world. The U.S. had virtually no national debt. We had the largest middle class in the world and Mom stayed home to raise the kids! What many Americans are still clueless about is that there is nothing “Federal” about the Federal Reserve and they have no reserves. They are a private corporation owned by private bankers. To illustrate how this monetary system operates. Let‚s assume the U.S. government needs 10 billion dollars. The FRB (Federal Reserve Bank) prints 10 billion from their printing press and loans it to the government in exchange for a 10 billion bond. The government now owes 10 billion to the FRB, and to add insult to injury, owes interest on top of it. In fact, most of our taxes presently go towards paying only the interest from the debt we owe! In my opinion, the Federal Reserve system of banking is simply a monetary system designed to control and enslave the U.S. government and its citizens.

The other chart I use is for when the first Federal Reserve Bank in New York opened for business on Nov. 16, 1914 at 10:00AM in New York. In this chart, Saturn is forming a conjunction to Pluto at about 1 1/2 degrees of Cancer. In the United States chart for July 4th, 1776, the planet Venus is almost exactly at the same degree at 2 degrees of Cancer! Venus represents the money and things of value. The FRB Saturn/Pluto forms a conjunction to the USA Venus. My astrological interpretation of this aspect: the FRB was created to devalue the US dollar and bankrupt the United States. For astrological forecasting purposes, we want to look for “shared degrees” of planets in important birth charts. The Sun, Venus, Saturn, and Pluto are from 0 - 2 degrees in the cardinal signs of Capricorn and Cancer in all of these charts. Transiting Pluto is already at these early degrees in the sign of Capricorn since the end of November, 2008. Let the games begin.

Astrologers have been talking about the great “cardinal climax” happening from 2010 - 2012. It almost sounds like a rated “X” movie! This is when Saturn in Libra forms a T-square configuration with Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn lasting until the year 2012. I would expect something of significance in the financial markets and with the U.S. dollar. The dollar will probably be under more downward pressure. This is also the first pass of transiting Saturn in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn. The planet Saturn turns retrograde again in January 2010 and will cross 0 - 2 degrees of Libra while retrograde once more in the month of March, 2010. But what is of most significance is during the summer of 2010 when Uranus first enters the sign of Aries. This occurs beginning the end of May, 2010 through


the middle of August, 2010. Jupiter also enters the sign of Aries conjunct Uranus in the month of June. On July 21st, 2010, the planet Saturn enters the sign of Libra, leaving the sign of Virgo for good for another 29 years. Let’s throw a going away party! During the months of July and August of 2010, the planets Jupiter and Uranus in Aries, Saturn in Libra, and Pluto in Capricorn will all be at the very early degrees of the cardinal signs forming a cardinal cross to the FRB Sun, Saturn, Pluto, and USA Venus! (See quad-wheel). This is a once in a lifetime transit that may cause a complete collapse or very serious devaluation of the US dollar as we know it and major crisis within the Federal Reserve. New Geodetic Research: Follow The Sun Westward By Alex Walker Reprinted with permission from the NCGR Summer Solstice 2008 Journal A geodetic world map calibrated with westward progression of the zodiacal signs instead of eastward progression, as Alex Walker thought-provokingly proposes, yields an intriguingly accurate view of the world, the nature of its regions and historical events. In the final analysis, as is demonstrated, this fascinating new proposal appears to offer a more accurate perspective from which to predict current events

Geodetic astrology is based on an equal division of 30 zones of longitude, where every zone, beginning with the Aries point in Greenwich, England, and proceeds eastward. For example, in the geodetic astrology now used, most all of Europe is in Aries from 0-degrees to 30 east longitude. The cusp of Taurus at 30 would extend to 60 east which would be the same longitude line that runs approximately off the eastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula. This progression east wraps around the world, making the United States a primarily Capricorn nation from roughly Los Angeles to Chicago. The beginnings of geodetic astrology with the eastward progression of astrological rulership signs appears to be with the British astrologer and Theosophical member, Dr. Walter Gorn Old (1864-1929), more commonly known as Sepharial.1 Sepharial authored a book on the subject entitled, The Theory Of Geodetic Equivalents In Relation To Mundane Astrology . Later the Canadian astrologer, Chris McRae, wrote The World Geodetic Map, referencing Sepharial .2 After reading these books, I decided to see how some of the national charts for various countries within these zones corresponded with their geodetic region by astrological sign. I began with the work of an astrologer known as Raphael (1850-1923) whose book, The Effects of The Planets and Signs Upon The Nations and Countries of The World 3 predated the work by Sepharial and had little correspondence with his views. Raphael’s book indicated the ruling signs of countries throughout the world prior to Sepharial’s and the current theory of geodetic equivalents. I then considered the concept of geodetic astrology and wondered why the sign placement went eastward. I experimented by making a copy of a world map and running them westward from Greenwich, England, because that was how our Sun appears to move across our rotating °

globe. It seemed to me the Sun would energize the world with its radiant energy in this direction from Aries through Pisces. I immediately saw how European and (forced) African migrations followed this same zodiacal path of solar energy. Thus began my hypothesis as I’ll describe. First, consider Earth’s counterclockwise rotation from West to East and counterclockwise orbit as our measurement of time follows the movement of the Midheaven westward across the globe. Though this may rub some astrologers the wrong way, shouldn’t the signs also progress westward, the same way as we measure both clock and calendar time? Also, why Greenwich as the starting point? Consider the limestone blocks of the Great Pyramid of Giza, the power of that structure, and the thousands of years of the line of Pharaohs. Consider the massive limestone coliseum and structures in Rome and note how Rome was dominant for a thousand years. Now, consider the massive limestone cliffs of Dover and how London was the center of world power for centuries and remains the financial center of the world. In this way, one could conceivably “rectify the world” more accurately and push the zero point of Aries 1.5 degrees east from Greenwich to Dover, the same longitude as Paris, France, however recalibrating the Earth’s longitudinal map is too daunting at this phase. I digress. Sepharial promoted the current system where geodetic signs progress eastward. 2, 4 Both of these gentlemen were famous astrologers and I am but a curious mortal. However, correlations with Raphael’s ruling signs of countries and the eastward progression of signs per Sepharial, found only one correspondence, what is today’s Iraq. On the other hand, a westward geodetic sequence of signs found a much stronger correlation with Raphael’s data. That’s what got me started. Understand it was not my goal to validate or vindicate one astrologer over the other, or for that matter, the encyclopedic work of Nicholas Campion.3, 5 I decided to lay out a map with a westward geodetic sequence, then test it with historical timelines, planetary transits of those signs and references and see what patterns emerged. What I’ve found is that the westward geodetic sequence fits remarkably well with history and corresponding cultures. I will mention correlations with Raphael and Campion’s work as they surface as FYI. Every 30 of longitude west from 0 in London is an astrological cusp on the globe. °

Uruguay is considered the Switzerland of South America.9, 12 Brazil has a cornucopia of natural resources and manufactures their own aircraft and military equipment10, 13 Brazil also creates the majority of their fuel grown from sugarcane and made into ethanol. Further, Brazil is world famous for their beautiful Venusian women, often the top pick for Miss Universe, and “The Girl from Ipanema” is a famous song of unrequited love. The zone of Cancer (Heartland of the US) runs from the Mississippi River to Los Angeles. Cancer is associated with the US in the 1776 birth chart, as the sign of the Sun, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter, perhaps an indicator of Manifest Destiny. Piscean France sold the Louisiana Purchase in this zone to the US in 1803 when Pluto was in Pisces. Native Americans roamed this oceanic prairie and lived off the migrating herds of buffalo, not unlike schools of fish. The Cancer Heartland relates to the Moon and is the emotional and physical center of the US. It’s the caring breadbasket that feeds the world, and the part of America with the greatest emotional attachment to American ideals. This region holds the Ogallala underground water basin that nourishes the great breadbasket of the Plains. 13, 20 Fields of wheat as amber waves of grain undulate like the ocean. It’s the home of the largest river basins, the Mississippi, Missouri and Colorado Rivers and the great American deserts here were once the bottom of ancient lakebeds from Montana, down into Utah and Nevada, including Death Valley. One night at dinner, an unknown couple picked up my dinner tab, discovered only after they’d left. I never knew their names or saw them again. What I describe next may explain why. When in the movie, the Americans finally turned the tide and bombed the Japanese carriers, the audience leapt to their feet, shouting and applauding—my wife and I were the only ones sitting. People on all sides, suddenly patted my back. One gentleman smiled as he gripped my shoulder and said in tangled English, “Good! Good!” It hit me at that moment how I was receiving the gratitude of people liberated by Americans 10 years before I was born, a completely and utterly humbling experience. That moment was the most touching experience I’ve had as an American. On last point for Scorpio; Campion shows that three of Russia’s historic charts have Sun in Scorpio. 35

Sagittarius Sagittarius fits China and their opulent dynasties, the pinnacle of bureaucracies, Jupiterian wealth and foreign trade from the times of Marco Polo. This fire sign region originated the first fireworks, rockets and gunpowder.24, 36 The US (Gemini) and China (Sagittarius) are opposites and have become the two largest world economies and long-term opponents. Another significant Sagittarian nation is Singapore. The Galactic Center is currently placed at 26.85 Sagittarius. In the westward geodetic sequence, this longitude is exactly 2 east of Lhasa, Tibet at 28.85 Sagittarius. If you follow the geodetic line for the Galactic Center south from Tibet to 3.3 north of the Equator, the position will be 2 east of the precise epicenter of the great quake in Indonesia on December 26, 2004 at 07:58:53 AM local time.25, 37 Note an event chart for that earthquake at that precise place and time (per above US Geological Survey data) finds the Pluto/Sun midpoint at 28.5 Sagittarius—in the 12th house. Vietnam in Sagittarius is in opposition to Gemini and became the place of undoing of American policy. Thailand, the only country in Asia never colonized by the West, had its own bureaucracy and series of mostly benevolent emperors in their own monarchy.26, 38 The Western Australian coast is in this Sagittarian zone. a Sagittarius sun. Russia’s recent C.I.S. (Commonwealth of Independent States) chart has a 29-degree Sagittarius Sun.40

Capricorn Raphael said India, the Punjab and Afghanistan are ruled by Capricorn. 41 On the map, Central Russia, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, India, half of Tibet, Pakistan and the eastern border of Iran are also within Capricorn’s geodetic sector. The area east of the Urals in this zone is where the Soviets kept their space program and top-secret, missile programs in Tajikistan and Kazakhstan. 28, 42 Non-Han Chinese western China is under Capricorn. The cusp fits well with cultures in that area, particularly Tibet and the NonHan, Islamic groups and Uigars. According to Campion, two historic Russian charts, Turkmenia (formerly of the USSR) and the British IndianEmpire chart of 1877 have Sun in Capricorn.29, 43

Aquarius The Aquarian sector includes western Russian & Moscow (where socialism first took root), Iran, the countries of the Saudi Arabian Peninsula, Iraq, Syria, most of Turkey, half of the Ukraine, and the eastern third of Africa. The cusp of Aquarius-Pisces, just east of Alexandria, Egypt defines the Nile and Horn of Africa as Arab or Islamic. 30, 44 Aquarius rules the Middle East, Jerusalem and the heart of Islam. Consider how Aquarius de-emphasizes the individual and fits the group submission aspect of Islam.31, 45 Aquarius is an air sign, and mosques and Hebrew temples emphasize geometric, non-human forms. The region is disconnected from watery emotions (fiery emotions coming from opposite sign Leo) or earthly fecundity like Brazil; it’s a mostly sterile landscape. The bearers of spiritual waters in the desert was Moses to Judaism and Mohammed to Islam for their individual, submitting masses. Notice how the Jewish people, who migrated into Europe (Pisces) became a people dissolved without a nation or borders and from the Piscean Europeans, suffered delusional accusations and prejudice. Until recently, several different populations of Jewish sects who’d remained in the Aquarian zone, particularly those in Persia—and since the time of Cyrus the Great— had lived in relatively tranquility.32, 46 Whether you ascribe to Saturn or Uranus ruling Aquarius, these planets fit the attitudes of an unfortunate number in this region. Consider people intent on control while literally exploding themselves with the suddenness of Uranus and the fiery anger of opposite Leo, coupled with Saturn’s rigid, anti-Moon (hiding of women). Aquarius trine Libra and the ideal of hiding of women is far difference from earthy Venus in Taurus (Brazil), or its opposite of showy Leo (California). Libra is both steel and a scale. Airy, idealized and rigid, the fanatical side of Islam gives people they consider as infidels a chance to convert (scales of justice) before using their sword (steel) which is highly stylized on the

national flag of Saudi Arabia. Aquarius is trine Gemini with a duality relationship to the US. The Geminian US needs oil and provided the means (oil companies) to yield great wealth. Yet Aquarian Arabia scorns Gemini’s exalting freedom of thought and speech, individuality, two party system and societal, Mercurial ideas so alien to theirs. The opposite sign of Aquarius, Leo, is where AlQueda is drawn onto the world stage using Uranus as shock-value to draw attention to their cause—yet Leonian Hollywood offends them the most. They want to rule with a collective Aquarian worldwide caliphate, not a Leonian king. The nature of Leo opposes the cool, airy collective Aquarian reserve in how the majorities of Arabs live and do business. Al-Queda takes refuge in Afghanistan and Pakistan of Capricorn, their Saturnian attitude more attuned to this area, yet they express their shock and suddenness in their Aquarius zone of Iraq and Palestine, and the air sign, Gemini (Feb. 26, 1993 and Sept. 11, 2001—attacks on the World Trade Center in NY). Two attacks since September 11, 2001 were in the sector of Aries (Madrid and London) sextile Aquarius. Raphael said Aquarius rules Arabia, Abyssinia (Horn of Africa) and Russia.47 Russia was historically like the Middle East with a state religion, Orthodoxy. After 1918, the state religion that replaced it was Communism, with Lenin deified in a glass case and visited by newlyweds as they would Niagara Falls in the US. The Russians have the Saturnian need for control with Uranus’ sudden revolutions and the shock of the first satellite, Sputnik. Russia and the United States have an interesting dynamic. Aquarius is trine Libra which falls over Eastern Siberia; both are trine Gemini. The zone of Russia in Capricorn is trine US Virgo, and the eastern tip of Siberia shares Virgo with Alaska and Hawaii. Sagittarius over Siberia is trine US Leo and Scorpio Russia trines US Cancer. The irony is how both countries are so different yet have so much common. Both countries dominate space and are nuclear equals. Both have extensive natural resources and share the Arctic. Both are now both heavily capitalist, but with significant socialist government components. Both countries consist of zones in all four elements. Perhaps the Russians will activate differently when China needs more room for its billions of people and looks north toward Siberian oil. Countries in the Aquarius sector with a Sun in Aquarius, include Ukraine, The Arab Federation, The United Arab Republic, Khomeni-Iran and Rwanda.48

Pisces The cusp of Pisces separates Finland and Eastern Europe from Russia. It separates the Dardanelles in Turkey from Asia. Istanbul (Constantinople in the Holy Roman Empire) is in Piscean Europe and has always been the bridge between Europe and Asia. Turkey, more than Egypt, is the unique Islamic country that straddles both worlds.


Piscean Greece historically ruled this Piscean western lobe of Turkey from the time of Alexander until the Ottoman Empire. The cusp divides Sudan with the Aquarian Muslim Arabs on one side and Piscean, borderless Christian blacks on the other (Darfur). 33, 49 Christianity took root in Piscean Rome and Jesus was likely conceived in Egypt along the Piscean cusp; in Pisces, a Trinity is worshipped, whereas in Aquarian Egypt, Aten was the first monotheistic deity. 34, 50 Aquarian Islam and Judaism are more similar in pure monotheism and limited expression of religious art, because pictures and statues are forbidden. In contrast, art and statues are world renown in The Vatican, the center of Catholicism in the Piscean zone. Pisces is from where the fisher of men and the watery flux of Christianity evolved and diversified over time, and is exalted in zones of another water sign, Cancer, in the Heartland US and Central America. Over millennia, Piscean Europe has had boundary issues , and currently is attempting unification into a single pool, the European Union. But England is mostly in Aries and not part of the EU, nor is Ireland. Again, England, Spain and Portugal have had the most consistent borders in 500 years of European history. Perhaps the eastern section of Spain within Pisces was enough for Spain to join the EU. Piscean Europe, trine US Cancer and Scorpionic Japan were all participants in WWII. Oil is found in this zone of Europe, Norway’s coast and the North Sea. Where the cusp with Aries begins is where the oil ends. Piscean Africa has liquid borders, delusional dictators and turmoil. AIDS and Ebola originated in this 12th house zone. In places like Nigeria, an OPEC nation, oil is found in Africa. Consider how Africans from this place of confinement were sold into slavery by other African tribes and Arabs mostly to one of its geodetic squares, the American Southeast (Gemini). Compare Morocco in the Arian western lobe of Africa with its long-lived monarchy and lack of oil, which is a more stable area, but has few commodities compared to the zone in Pisces. Regarding the transatlantic slave trade, though slaves were transported primarily through the Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini and Cancer zones, the ports of origin for the slave trade interestingly were exclusively in the Pisces zone. These ports of origin include Benguela in present day Angola,51 Cabinda in present day Congo52 and Calabar in Nigeria.53 Another, the country of Ghana, is split in half by the Pisces/Aries cusp has its capital, Accra, literally upon that line. However Ghana’s port at the mouth of the Togo River is east of the Pisces/Aries cusp.54 The period of slave trade from Africa was from 1597-1866. 55 The national flags of these ships included Portugal, Brazil, Spain, France, USA, Uruguay, Netherlands, Hamburg (Germany), Argentina, Sweden, Russia, Denmark and England. 56 The Book of World Horoscopes shows a Sun in Pisces for seven early Russia charts. 57 The western tip of Russia is in Pisces Europe and these earlier Russian charts reflect a desire to be a part of Pisces Europe, as exemplified by Peter The Great and his transformation of Russia which

included his mandate for Russians to adopt Western attire and his requirement that they shave their beards.58 Wars with Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Prussia, Ukraine, Belarus along this Pisces/Aquarius cusp had limited success and are notable in this regard.59 Russia as the USSR did accomplish a post-WW2 annexation of eastern Pisces Europe but it only lasted from 1945 until 1990.60 Lithuania, Carpatho-Ukraine, two charts for Czechoslovakia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ghana, Yugoslavia, Slovakia, Italy-Kingdom, Egypt-Kingdom & Independence, France 2nd Republic.61 Raphael states the Sahara Desert, Galicia (near Poland) and Nubia (Sudan) is ruled by Pisces.62 What of Antarctica? The Antarctic continent (excluding islands claimed by Argentina or the UK) is the only landmass where all geodetic signs meet (at the South Pole). This is also the only landmass where by worldwide agreement and treaty, no one nation has exclusive dominion .63 Even though in history, nations such as Norway (in the sector of Pisces at the north of the globe) claimed the Piscean sector of Antarctica, there are German, South African, Russian, Indian and Japanese base camps in this sector. The divided polar pie historically has no actual sovereignty despite slices (several of them overlapping) claimed in the past by Norway, France, Argentina, Great Britain, Chile, Australia and New Zealand. Interestingly, the sections of Cancer and Leo were never claimed. The US Amundsen-Scott Station sits right on the South Pole, but denies no one access. McMurdo Station is within the New Zealand claim (yet I doubt there will be a problem with an imperialist New Zealand, only a stone’s throw away at Scott Station). 35, 64

A Geodetic Snapshot of Transiting Pluto & World Events The transit of Pluto through the westward progression of geodetic signs provides a revealing pattern; a peak and an inevitable decline and decay once it has left. In my mind’s eye, Pluto’s transit over a geodetic region lifts that region high and transforms it; then when departing, whatever excesses were wrought by that transformation, carry a heavy cost and begins to decay. Correspondingly, the geodetic region opposite Pluto is pulled into the Earth as though into a hell of sorts. About 220-230 years later, it happens again. I encourage those interested in the geodetic ideas to test the planetary transits of these signs in sequence and their effects in the world. Below is a short summary, referencing several concurring general historic timelines, of what I’ve analyzed with Pluto thus far. Pluto was in Aquarius when Islam was at its first peak from 795 until 817. Pluto in Aquarius from 1286 to 1307 coincides with the second peak of Islam, and after Pluto moved into Pisces in 1307, the capital of the Ottoman Empire capital was moved to Constantinople (1326) in the Pisces zone and continued its rise. Rome was at its peak when Pluto transited Pisces from 328 AD until 387. Rome fell and disintegrated only 90 years later. Pluto was also in


Pisces four cycles earlier at Rome’s inception with Romulus and Remus. Portugal became independent of Spain in 1385 after Pluto had transited out of Aries in 1362, weakening Spain to the east. Pluto was in Aries from 1822 until 1851. England was at full stride as an empire where the Sun never set, and was where the Industrial Revolution began. During this time, the British pound as a currency never knew inflation or devaluation and was the world currency of choice based on gold. Pluto was in Gemini through Leo from 1882 – 1956, when the United States recovered from the Civil War, defeated the Spanish in 1898 and began to fill the power vacuum from collapsing colonial European powers. The US won WWI, flourished in the 1920’s, weakened in the 1930’s when Pluto left Cancer and most of the US mainland except the West Coast (Leo) by 1937. The U.S. was dragged into WWII and with Pluto in the fire sign, Leo, developed nuclear weapons in New Mexico (Cancer) and dropped them on Japan (Scorpio) instead of defeated Piscean Germany. The US then rebuilt both Scorpionic Japan and Piscean Europe and became a superpower. Pluto moved out of the US sphere into Virgo on August 19, 1956 and was trine the Capricorn region of the Soviet Union. The United States began its darkest days of the Cold War, Khruschev threatening “ We will bury you .” 65 and Sputnik was launched by the Soviets on October 5, 1957.66 By then, communism had spread to all continents and hemispheres. After a three-year loss of the Plutonian benefic, in 1959 Alaska and Hawaii became the 49th and 50th states— both states in the zone, Virgo—that extended the assistance of Pluto and infused the US until mid-1972. In 1972 the US astronauts on the Moon planted the American flag, an act fitting of the American apex. By 1972 when Pluto entered Libra, the scales shifted and the U.S. hit peak oil . America’s status as the world’s largest oil producer dramatically vanished, confirmed by the Arab Oil Embargo in 1973. By 1973 the Paris Peace Accord dealing with Viet Nam was completed and all US troops had left, except the ones guarding the embassy in Saigon. By December of 1974, the US dollar was taken off the gold standard. By 1975, military aid to South Vietnam was abandoned by the US Congress and its bifurcated status was soon gone as well. The zone of Libra is unique as it covers only the eastern part of Siberia, the Australian east coast, New Zealand and some Pacific islands; however, that did not diminish the effect of Pluto on world events. From mid-1972 through 1984, the Soviet Union and its prison gulags (Libra trine Moscow in Aquarius) reached their zenith. America was at its weakest, exemplified by an oil crisis; stagflation; a smaller, weaker, military; three weakened presidents and the Iranian hostage crisis. Western Europe (Pisces), with the exception of Margaret Thatcher in the UK (Aries) was caught up in a pacifistic fervor. The Soviets invaded Afghanistan in 1979 under the auspices of stabilizing their puppet regime, but with the ultimate goal to take Iran and gain a warm water port, and then control the world’s oil and

dominate the West. The Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 was only symbolically opposed by a weak President Carter (boycotting the Moscow Olympics) due to the Iranian hostage crisis. By 1981 the Soviets were faced with the implacable Ronald Reagan. Pluto within Libra’s scales tilted toward the trine in Gemini favoring Reagan and against Moscow in Aquarius, and the part of the Soviet Union, to include Afghanistan, square to Libra in Capricorn. The Saudi’s (Aquarius) in fear of a Persian Gulf takeover by Soviet troops, footed the bill for an army of US-armed Mujahideen fighters in Afghanistan. The Saudi’s increased production of their inexpensive oil, drove down the world price until the Soviets could no longer profit from their more expensive Siberian (zones of Libra and Capricorn) oil. With Reagan’s Strategic Defense Initiative (Star Wars) challenge and an expensive empire to support, the Soviet’s unworkable economic system lost hold. Pluto in Scorpio from 1983 through 1994 was also on Soviet territory, (trine US Cancer, home of nearly all US underground missile silos) and became a time of transformation for the Soviet Union. The IMF treaty signed by Reagan and Gorbachev removed the missiles from Piscean Europe (a trine) and ended the Soviet designs on Europe. The Soviets gave up Afghanistan in 1989, their military demoralized and in collapse. By 1991 the Soviet satellite republics in the zone of Capricorn in sextile, gathered strength as did the Piscean area in Eastern Europe, trine to Scorpio (trine also to the U.S. in Cancer) to dissolve the Eastern Block and the Iron Curtain. This square from Pluto in Scorpio to ruling Moscow in Aquarius created a Scorpionic all-or-nothing challenge for independence. Pluto in Scorpio was the height of the Japanese economy, and later, while nearing the cusp with Sagittarius, the Taiwanese economy. North Korea in the Scorpio zone was its strongest in 1991 when the US removed its nuclear weapons from South Korea; and in 1994, when missile technology was acquired from China and nuclear power plants from the US, the basis for their first nuclear weapon. In the Scorpio zone over the center of Australia, Pluto brought the movie Mad Max 2 – The Road Warrior in the year 1982, story located and filmed in the Outback of Australia. This Plutonian movie featured the breakdown of civilization. By 1983 the Australian actor, Mel Gibson, became an international star. The year 1986 brought Crocodile Dundee about an Australian from the Outback (Scorpio), followed by Young Einstein in 1988 about the son of a Tasmanian (Scorpio) apple farmer who “discovers the secret of splitting the beer atom to put the bubbles back into beer .” 35a, 67 Note the Plutonian-Scorpi onic reference to splitting the beer atom and the atomic bombs which fell on Japan (in the zone of Scorpio) four decades before. The Outback Steakhouse chain was founded in 1988 during Pluto in Scorpio, with menu items named after places in Australia, falling in the sector of Scorpio, such as


Ayers Rock Strip Steak and Alice Springs Chicken. Australia enjoyed a great deal of popularity and immigration, fading after 1995 when Pluto moved on. Pluto entered Sagittarius in January of 1995 and said, “G’day” to the western third of Australia with a last bit of glory with the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. More so, Pluto said, “Ni hao” (hello) to Sagittarius China. The growth of the Chinese economy exploded with a record 11.4% growth in 1994.68 This expansion has continued to where even the Chinese are alarmed and contemplate what they call an “overheated economy,” barely affected by the SARS epidemic. With Pluto’s departure from Sagittarius they are dealing with pollution, record outstanding bank loans, oversupplied industry and an impending shortage of oil and coal.69 In 2006 their economy hit a 12-year high since 1994.70 I found in my research of China an overwhelming amount of information worthy of an article alone on this transit, but for the sake of this article I’ll have to let the remaining present and future speak for itself. I find it interesting that while Pluto was out of Sagittarius in Capricorn during the period of January through June of 2008, China was hit with the Sichuan (near the geodetic boundary with Capricorn) earthquake on May 12th which was not “just another earthquake in China” that left hundreds of thousands injured and dead.71 This earthquake has also damaged 391dams (Plutonian water) with this absence of Pluto – including their nuclear power plants (do I really need to explain this one?) in this fire sign of Sagittarius.72 Jupiter concurrent in Sagittarius with Pluto would have the Chinese at their peak. Yes, Pluto left Sagittarius in January of 2008 but returns in June in time for their Olympics in August – no doubt Pluto’s “Zai Jian” (goodbye) present before it left Sagittarius for the last time in November of 2008 when the boom in China will soon began to slow, as it will also in Taiwan. Pluto will make sure the 2008 Olympics will mark China’s economic and political peak and star moment on the world stage. One interesting event is as Pluto arrived at the Galactic Center (in Tibet, 2 east of the capital Lhasa) the Dalai Lama announced he will appoint a successor in a break with tradition, after China had ordered the approval of spiritual leaders. °

The Future With Pluto gone from Sagittarius for the final time in November 2008, after the Olympics have come and gone, I think it may be inevitable that China will distract their population from economic problems by making use or fabricating difficulties in foreign relations. They might well use their thousands of missiles built across the straits from Taiwan and make an unsuccessful attempt to take this island country at the right moment. Since China always tests new American presidents as most recently with G.W. Bush by force-landing a spy plane on Hainan Island in his first months, this event will likely be in 2009. With Pluto out of China’s sphere, one can surmise

that China’s waiting for the 2008 Olympics may have saved Taiwan. Taiwan could become the Chinese Vietnam as happened to the US when Pluto left geodetic Virgo in 1972. Without the help of Pluto, the best President Nixon could manage was the Paris Peace Accords and a pullout of US troops. South Vietnam collapsed in 1975 when Democrats ceased military aid during the Watergate scandal. Uranus in Pisces is already revolutionizing Eastern Europe as it had with Russia in Aquarius. It should be interesting for the US when Uranus arrives over Gemini and Cancer again in 2026 as it had in 1776, during the US Civil War (1859-1865) and World War II (1941-1948). Saturn joins Uranus in 2030 as it had in 1942, so unlike 1776 or 1865, this could mean bailing out Europe again perhaps from Russia as General Patton predicted in 1945— or, perhaps the Russians will need help this time from the Chinese? Neptune now dissolves the democracy in Aquarian Russia and deludes Vladimir Putin. The Neptunian fog bank in the Middle East and Iran will slowly shift into Europe and central Africa from 2012 until 2026 possibly dissipating efforts for a unified Europe. Jupiter in Capricorn with Pluto could revolutionize India. Consider they’ve recently flown their national flag to the Moon, and their navy has already taken down Somali pirate ships. They may not experience an economic windfall right away, but Pluto will be in Capricorn long enough to make this possible. As part of Iran is in the Capricorn zone, perhaps Iran may see a fortunate change of government, at least by 2023 to pursue a direction of prosperity. As has happened since the Industrial Revolution, Pluto will bring its modern-day price in the form of pollution,

an eventual recession or depression, and all the other pitfalls of a country having spent its best effort. With Tibet located in Capricorn one can expect China to lose more control over this region with a further ascendancy of the Dalai Lama after his passing. Jupiter entered Aquarius in January of 2009 as did Mars in February, so I hope for that to manifest as a military resolution if not a change of government in the Middle East. Pluto enters Aquarius in 2023 which is when the Middle East will have its scheduled peak and the oil deposits will begin to run dry. With oil production declining, world demand growing, particularly from India and China, and technology lagging, the Middle East oil producers will demand and receive the highest possible prices in 2023 before the world changes technologies and oil revenue drops. It’s even possible carbon emissions may drop more for economic reasons than anyone’s intent or legislation. The Middle East shall fade after 2043 when Pluto leaves for Pisces, most probably from alternate sources of power by that time. Europe will have renaissance or another French Revolution with Pluto in Pisces in 2043. It may be a variant of when Europe nearly fell to Islam. The demographic wave from the Middle East into the forever-liquid borders of Piscean Europe is significant, given this trend and inevitable cross-pollination. Interesting cultural and religious transformations in Piscean Europe will probably be similar to Turkey and Libya—a secular form of Islam. In 2066—a thousand years after the construction of the Tower of London in 1066—Pluto will enter Aries again over England, to have its day again in the Plutonian Sun.
