When visitors cae to see Sherlock Holes i Baker Steet, they often did surpising things. Soe times they pu heir heas in their hans an cie. Someties they talke and alked and couldn't stop. Ad sometimes they just sat thee and didnt say a wo. But obody was more supising than Dr Thoeycroft Huxtable. He was a large man tal! well-dessed and importan looking. He cae nto the room walke to oe of the big chairs and sudenly fell ino it. He sat thee with his eyes close lookin white an ill.

I ran to get soe water for him. Then I got my doctors bag, and looked at him carefully. 'What is it Watson? said Holmes 'Hes al right 1 think said. 'Hes just very, very tired - and probably hungry too. Holmes looked in the mans pockets and found a train ticket from Mackleton in the north of England. 'Mackleton thats a long way said Holmes. 'ts no twelve oclock yet so he probably left home before ve oclock this moing. After a minute or wo the man began o move, and his eyes opened. A second later he got quickly to his feet. His face was now red and unhappy 'Mr Holmes I am so sorry! 1 forgot to eat or drink anything this morning thats why felt ill. 'When you feel better 1 began Im better now thank you said our visitr. 'And want very much to talk to Mr Holmes to ask him somethng. Please Mr Holmes ome back to Mackleton with me by the next train 'm sorry thats not ossible said Holmes 'm working on two imortant cases the Ferrers case and the Abergavenny case. 1 cannot leave London at the moment. mportant cases! our visitr cried. 'But this case is very important too. You know about the kidnapping of the son of the Duke of Holdernesse three days ago . . .

No' So Did the German teacher ride away on his bi cycle in the night, with the boy on his back? don't think so Bt what happened to the bicycle? Now, what abot visitors? Di the boy have any visitors the day before?' No.'
