Kevin Callahan The Red Fantasy Kevin Callahan (b. 1958)
grew up in Boston, Massachusetts (USA). As a teenager, he picked
up the guitar having been inspired by an uncle who was a singer-songwriter and by several aunts who sang professionally. professionally. Like many of his generation, Kevin played mostly pop and roc k and it wasn't until he was in his mid-twenties when he discovered classical guitar. While he holds a BA in English from Dartmouth College, he pursued harmony, harmony, composition and orc hestration during his undergraduate career. For a brief time, he left Dartmouth to study privately with Mitch Coodley (jazz guitar), Mick Goodrick (jazz guitar) and with Thomas McGah (harmony and counterpoint), head of the composition department at Berklee College of Music. When Kevin moved to Seattle in 1983, he did a year of intense study with the preeminent classical guitarist, Gary Bissiri. At home in a variety of music genres, Kevin has performed or rec orded with groups ranging from the Seattle Symphony to Dave Koz, Seattle Guitar Quartet, Seattle Guitar Trio, Arnold McCuller of the James Taylor Band, Greg Adams of Tower of Power, Roger Fisher of Heart, Rita Coolidge, Clarice Assad, the Assad Brothers and others. As a composer composer,, Kevin's works have been performed in the USA, Europe, Brazil, Japan and Australia. When not playing or writing music, Kevin is writing music software applications for iPhone and Mac. Kevin is also considered one of the pioneers in teaching music via video conferencing.
