Activation of Extended cell feature (Double TS extended cell) This is to describe extended cell feature activation on cell, some precautions, and related parameters needed to be changed and case where we can apply this feature.
1- This feature can be applied on concentric cells only, not possible to apply it on normal cells. 2- This feature is not possible to be applied on Hybrid concentric cells (900/1800 concentric cells), but it’s applied on (concentric cell 900 only, or concentric cell 1800 only). 3- So in general this feature can be applied only on concentric 900 only, or concentric 1800 only. 4- All TRXs in the concentric cell should be set as “underlaid” in SET GTRXIUO.
In case of Swap projects: In case of swap projects from another vendor to Huawei equipments, the other vendor such as Ericsson used to apply this feature on normal cells, not concentric. And the customer in this case insist on apply the extended cell feature on this normal cell. So Huawei need to convert the normal swapped cell, to concentric (900 only or 1800 only). Doing this action we will keep all TRXs on this as “underlaid TRX”

Activation Procedure 1. Run the MOD GCELL command. In this step, set Cell IUO Type to Concentric_cell(Concentric Cell) and set Enhanced Concentric Allowed as required. 2. Run the SET GTRXIUO command. In this step, set Concentric Attribute to UNDERLAID(Underlaid Subcell) for all TRXs in cell 3. Run the SET GCELLHOBASIC command. In this step, set Concentric Circles HO Allowed to YES(Yes). 4. Run the SET GCELLHOIUO command to set the handover parameters in the concentric cell according to the network condition. 5. Optional: Run the MML command SET GCELLCCBASIC to set ECSC to YES(Yes). 6. At last Run the command MOD GCELL, and set cell extension type to “Dualts_extCell”.
