THE HEART OF THE MODERN WASTEWATER TREATMENT PROCESS.
As one of the leading suppliers worldwide, Bilfinger Water Technologies offers components and services in almost every field of water and wastewater technology. The group has a strong global presence with companies located in Europe, North and South America, North Africa, South and East Asia and Australia.
The core expertise of the Global Business Unit Water Treatment lies in the efficient reprocessing of wastewater. Through the products and services of the traditional brands PASSAVANT ®, JOHNSON SCREENS ®, NOGGERATH® and GEIGER ®, the Global Business Unit Water Treatment is able to provide system solutions, with components and machines manufactured within the group, for the clarification of municipal and industrial wastewater, biological treatment, sludge treatment and drinking water purification and to increase the overall efficiency of wastewater treatment plants. After t he inlet works / headworks, carbon and nitrogen compounds and phosphate are left dissolved in the wastewater. If these were not removed, the disposal of wastewater would lead to an overfertilisation of our bodies of water and have far-reaching consequences for our ecological system. The removal of these harmful substances is carried out in individual processes which are greatly dependent on the different biological conditions in the
aeration tanks. Of particular importance are aeration systems to create an aerobic environment, technical optimisation measures to precisely coordinate all the processes and ensure a continuously high performance level in the entire biological process and also scraper technologies to separate the clarified water from the activated sludge in the secondary settling tank. In the development of individual components and specific complete solutions the Global Business Unit Water Treatment unites the expertise and years of experience of traditional brands such as PASSAVANT®, JOHNSON SCREENS ®, NOGGERATH® and GEIGER®. With our international production and distribution locations and a strong commitment to service, we support our customers worldwide along the entire route to optimal product solutions: from consultations in the design and planning phase to reliable service, even after many years of operation.

SYSTEM SOLUTIONS FOR ENERGY AND PROCESS EFFICIENCY
SYSTEM SOLUTIONS FOR ENERGY AND PROCESS EFFICIENCY. The various – often counter-directional – individual processes in wastewater treatment plants place heavy demands on technical implementation procedures. A comprehensive approach to process efficiency is, therefore, required. This is the only way to concurrently achieve the highest level of cleaning performance, stable degradation processes and minimal energy consumption when carrying out optimisation measures.

SCRAPER TECHNOLOGY FOR SECONDARY CLARIFICATION TANKS. The main objective of secondary clarification, as the final stage in biological treatment procedures, is to calm the wastewater in order to remove all floating and settling solids and to draw off clear water. Bilfinger Water Technologies offers you robust and practically turbulence-free scraper technologies, for high discharge rates and low turbulence in both circular and longitudinal tanks. Our technologies are also suitable for use in intermediate settling tanks.
