Explanation
Description This manual provides an explanation for the reading of the electrical schematics and a location overview of the electrical system components.
Explanation GENERAL The electrical schematic is laid out on several pages in Diagrams, YardMaster ® 8000 SRM 1293. The electrical schematic starts with the index pages, showing on which page the different functions can be found. Not all functions will apply to your truck. Each page of the electrical schematic is divided into 41 columns. The column numbers are shown in a horizontal bar at the top of each page. The meaning of the reference numbers depends on its layout and its location. See Figure 1.
Location Numbers All location numbers are placed between brackets. The number starts with the page number, followed by the column number. Example: Relay R5-BR11 (17,33) is shown on page 17 in column 33. The location number shows at which location a related function or connection exists. When a component is shown with several location numbers, then a function or connection exists at each of the indicated locations. A location number shown at a relay refers to the contact belonging to that relay. A location number shown next to a contact refers to the relay belonging to that contact. A location number shown at the end of a line refers to the location where this line continues.
Components Components that can be replaced are indicated by an encircled reference number. An example is S34 in Figure 1, pos. 7. These reference numbers are listed in Table 2 with Hyster part numbers, descriptions, location in the electrical schematics, and the actual truck location as shown in Figure 2, Figure 3, Figure 4, Figure 5, Figure 6, and Figure 8.
Connections
instance, a pin connection number at the relay side refers to the pin on the relay. The pin connection number at the plug (for that relay) refers to the pin on the plug. See Figure 1, item 11.
Leads/Wires Numbers shown just above a line are used to identify leads/wires. The same numbers are also printed on the wires themselves. Example: 322 = wire marked "322." Wires with the same number are interconnected and therefore have the same function. Example: Lead/ wire 15 has function "Battery Ground (negative)." The actual wires are marked along the entire length with a wire identification. The wire identification shows the wire number corresponding with the electrical diagram and the two destinations the wire connects with. See below example. Logic Modules Z1 and Z2 The function of Modules Z1 and Z2 is to activate certain functions depending on inputs received. The logic between Z controller inputs and outputs is shown in Diagrams, YardMaster ® 8000 SRM 1293. An example for this logic is input ID, which relates to Engine On. Input ID is compulsory for allowing functions like derricking and telescoping to be activated. Note that the Engine On input is derived from the alternator output voltage. This implies that a defective alternator may prevent that derricking and telescoping can be activated.
The numbers at the pin connections of the components refer to the pin number of that component. For

Modules Z1A and Z2A have a display that continuously shows which function is being processed or which possible defect is registered. The buttons on the modules are for factory use only and have been disabled. The modules have an internal battery that needs to be replaced about every two years.
