Type Typ e PM PM,, 12 1211-16 169 9 kV kV,, up to 63 kA Power Circuit Breaker
Standard features - Dead tank design, with one self-blast interrupter per tank on a galvanized steel frame - National Board certification of of interrupter tanks per the ASME Pressure Vessel and Boiler Code - All tanks factory leak tested in a hard-vacuum chamber chamber with a helium mass spectrometer - Certified per ANSI C37.04, C37.04, C37.06, and C37.09 C37.09 standards - FSA-2 spring mechanism applied for interrupting interrupting ratings through 40 kA; HMB-1 class spring-hydraulic mechanism standard standard for 169 kV, kV, 50 kA applications and through through 145 kV for 50/63 kA duty - Frame mounted NEMA-3R steel control cabinet protected with TGIC polyester powdercoat finish - Single tank-mounted gas density monitor and pressure pressure gauge - Porcelain bushings - Continuous current current ratings through 4000 A - Ships fully assembled and factory tested with 5 psig SF6 gas (bushings may be removed for export t ransit)
With a large installed base and proven track record, the PM breaker offers unequalled performance and reliability. ABB advantages - Interrupting ratings through through 63 kA at applications through 145 kV, kV, and through 50 kA at 169 kV - High performance interrupters interrupters for definite purpose breaker breaker reduce potential for overvoltages overvoltages caused caused by restrikes restrikes during capacitor capacitor bank switching - One-piece interrupter assembly assembly simplifies field change-out whenever whenever end of life is reached by eliminating need for internal internal tank mounting mounting of separate parts and alignment - Simple, low powered motor-charged motor-charged spring mechanism mechanism for 40-kA applications, imparts minimal mechanical mechanical stress to the breaker breaker,, reducing maintenance costs - Compact, fully-integrated spring-hydraulic spring-hydraulic mechanism mechanism for 50- and 63-kA applications, applications, is self-lubricating and self-damping. self-damping. It is also hermetically sealed sealed to the atmosphere, atmosphere, which eliminates corrosion corrosion and helps provide maintenance-free maintenance-free performance performance with long term stability - Externally accessible current current transformers transformers enable simple field change-out without without degassing breaker and bushing removal removal - Extensive range of of available field services, from technical assistance assistance to turn-key installation, can dramatically reduce reduce construction construction costs and speed speed time to commercial commercial operation
Options and accessories - Condition monitoring with with the Circuit Breaker Breaker Sentinel (CBS) - Density monitor and temperature-compensated temperature-compensated pressure pressure gauge directly-mounted on each tank - Extra creep and/or extra strike bushings bushings for special applications - Silicone rubber composite bushings, bushings, which eliminates cost of hot washing porcelain bushings bushings while providing excellent mechanical mechanical and superior dielectric properties - Tank heaters for operation in ambient ambient temperatures below -30ºC - High seismic designs designs - HMB-1 class spring-hydraulic spring-hydraulic mechanism for 40 kA breaker applications subject to extended numbers of repetitive operations FSA-2 and HMB-1.5 mechanisms Breakers rated 40 kA are driven by a type FSA-2 spring mechanism, located in the control cabinet. The mechanism is simple and relatively low powered, resulting in minimal mechanical stresses during breaker operation and lower overall maintenance costs. The 50 and 63 kA rated breakers employ employ an HMB-1.5 class spring-hydraulic mechanism, located within the control cabinet, to operate the interrupters. The fully-integrated mechanism is self-lubricating and hermetically sealed to the atmosphere, affording excellent reliability and long term stability.
